New Banker Steps Up

While Apothes is a way, and unable to help Fronen as he has been doing so well, PM Cedric was forced to appoint someone new to the banker position for now. His choice was adras. Congratulations Duke adras, I am sure you will do a great job while we wait for Apothes to come back.

Trader of Doom or Doomed Government?

For those of you who have been living under a rock, former Fronenian Count Beowulf Kronos has begun a new newspaper Fwuvoghor. In the "Banter Chanter" section of this Newspaper, there is an article derailing Fronenian Finance Minister Apothes. Count Beowulf calls the Minister's actions "illegal." While giving to the poor may be illegal in Fwuvoghor it is certainly not a crime to a noble Fronenian. You may ask, Giving to the poor? Illegal trading? How can this discrepancy be so? Well the fact is both are true. The situation is somewhate complicated.

Since the death of the exalted Prime Minister Dirrik, and the banishment of the upstanding Fwuvoghoran Finance Minister Dark Moon, the people in Fwuvoghor have been restless. Over the past two weeks, supporters of the old regime and old alliance have gone on hunger strike in Fwuvoghor City. The peasants have voluntarily given up their food to protest the treachery of their government. Minister Apothes is an honorable Fronenian, and as such he supports the old Fwuvoghoran regime. In order to repay the courageous Fwuvoghoran protesters, Apothes has paid them for their food in prices far exceeding the norm. Minister Apothes' actions were illegal, because they were supporting anti-government activities, but they were pro-Fwuvoghor activities. You must realize that there are good Fwuvoghrans and bad Fwuvoghorans. Apothes was only trying to help the good ones fight the bad. Even after being tortured for his service, Minister Apothes continued to serve humanity through his honorable actions.

But what you may ask, of Count Beowulf. Well, for those who do not know, Beowulf was Count of Ieara in Fronen. He was a lover of power and politics. He managed to garner a respectable (though far from majority or plurality) following of support, mostly from banished rebels (Although Beowulf himself left before the rebellion). After losing multiple elections, Beowulf left to join the growing anti-East Coast Alliance in Riombara. Obviously, it skyrocketed him to power in Fwuvoghor. Because it was Fronen who refused to put power into his hands and Fwuvoghor that did, Beowulf is clearly biased and tortured the good Fronenian philanthropist of of spite for Fronen and the very successful Minister.

It should also be noted that recently an Enweilean saboteur was apprehended in Mhed. Details are still sketchy, but Beowulf may have had ties to this attack of Fronen's property. Time will tell. Until next time, this is the Fronen Commentator provided fair and balanced news.
