Moral Code of Conduct

The moral code of conduct was formed by Sartan in his formative years - when he was still a young and proud noble, strictly religious believing in the strength of the Gods and only saw the good in people. The code of conduct was considered rigorous and challenging to the mind, soul and body. The moral code just applied to Sartan, as a mere mortal wouldn't be able to meet Sartan's aptitude to kill and win battles. This was because Sartan was the God of War Himself who had come to live on this world as a mortal with us to teach us the true path in His eyes.

But know mortal can contain the true power and knowledge of a god and so Sartan lived unaware of His divine nature but gifted with the pull of destiny and the talent of being the greatest warrior ever born. His talent was His curse, but despite His gift, it didn't get the better of Him, He remained humble and devoted to the Gods. Sartan didn't fight for the greed of Kings, but He fought for the love of His country and the Gods. He never chose to become a hero as a mortal, He was born as one. It was His destiny.

Ancient texts of the Gods were discovered and some narrate the greatness of Sartan. For years, priests of the Church of Ibladesh have tried to translate the writings of the Gods, and after much afford they have been able to verbalize parts of Sartan's morale code. Even thought most of it isn't yet translated, and other parts of the code can only be matched by a God, there are still Priests of Sartan who have been able to adapt some parts of Sartan's Moral Code of Conduct to suit the hierarchy of the followers of Sartan, the dauntless warriors of Sartan.

Path of the Warrior

Sartan was the greatest warrior who ever lived. He did not show fear, he braved death many times for the Gods and his comrades. The Pathof the Warrior is one of the best ways to show dedication to Sartan. Above all else, the Warrior is the man who most closely echoes, and therefore venerates, Sartan's own mortal life. Venerate Sartan through battle, venerate Him by fighting for the gods, your country and your comrades. Do not allow yourself to be overcome by fear or, deceived by it you shall feel, upon the field of battle, that you face unconquerable odds and are outnumbered, that you are just mortal. But you must overcome it or it will cripple you. There is no shame in fear. There is only shame in letting fear rule you. Try not to look scared, and you'll find bravery in your heart! Death is not the end that cowards fear it is, nor does the sound of dying men guaranty you immortality. No, but death on the battlefield in service to Sartan is the greatest glory and sacrifice you can achieve in life. Have faith in Sartan and you shall live as a warrior, a dauntless soldier of Sartan. You will know the tingling in your hands, the desire for cold steel and a yearning to draw your sword and slice it through the air. You will have seen the light because it comes from within. You become the warrior that every true servant of Sartan is born to be. Heeding Sartan's call, pursuing His footsteps on the road to glory and to honour, battle and victory.

The Way of Honour and Courage

Honour is key. Without honour or principle a man is worthless. Live your lives with honour. Courage is key. Without courage a man will achieve nothing. Courage is not being unafraid but being afraid and acting anyway. Honour is to live your life fighting for Sartan and others. Whether you fight by valour upon the field of battle or fight by labouring in the fields to provide food for the soldiers everyone must fight for Sartan. For unless you serve Sartan and your fellow man, your life is worthless and without purpose. But unless you serve with honour and respect for others, even for your enemies, then you are unworthy of Sartan and the code he left us. He who commits rapine or cold blooded murder incurs the wrath of Sartan and will know no peace in this life or the next. You are only human. But through striving for perfection you do as much as any can ask of you. He who does any less is not a man.

Value of Life

Humankind is superior to every other creation, only inferior to the Gods. Intelligence is what separates us from beasts, it's what placed a brick between mankind, absorbing the hierarchy of beasts and adapting it to ourselves. What is the value of one commoner compared with that of a noble? But what is the value of one noble compared with thousands of commoners? Wars aren't fought, cities aren't fed and there won't be any taxes to collect without the mainstay of commoners. Each and every living being is a descendant of Ramus' creation. Value the creation of life. Know and value your place within the order of Creation. You shall not harm those who are innocent for the sins of their nobility. You shall free them, conquer the very lands where they reside and bestow them with the mercy of Sartan. Bring order where there is chaos, bring light into the shadows and feed those who are starving.

Will of the Gods

Only the Gods speak the truth, and nothing but the truth. Their will is law. And you shall obey their will, as you are devoted to their magnificence. Sartan's will shall be bestowed upon us, by His prophets. Every priest, is a prophet of Sartan. It is as though Sartan is speaking through a man. And His word shall be obeyed and nothing else matters except conforming our lives to the word of Sartan. As how can we question the very word of Sartan on this side of heavens gate? You should trust in Sartan's ability to lead. Believers of Sartan and followers of His teachings end up were Sartan wants them to be. And for the most part, not because they heard the voice of Sartan or heard a vision or anything else, or their great ability to discern the voice of Sartan. It's the great ability of Sartan to lead. And many times we don't even recognize it was the will of Sartan until we look back and see the hand of providence all through our lives. Heed the call of Sartan, as he does not leave you adrift behind with His will, but he also gives you the grace to carry it through!
