Daishi

Report from VonGarrett Anderbliss Message sent to the Rulers of this world (18 recipients) (humans)

I write to you all today to briefly explain what will appear to be a drastic change in Plergoth's diplomatic relations. First of all, Plergoth will be backing out of the Federation with Old Grehk. This Federation was formed when Ashborn chose to extend an offer to Old Grehk without consulting Mesh or Plergoth first, thus we were committed to the new Federation partner. Now, this has not been an issue with me, but now, I have done some soul searching in regards to my beliefs, and to make a long story short, Plergoth is going to enter into an alliance with Sint.

Before anyone jumps to any conclusions, I wish for you all to understand that only after much thought have I concluded that the daimons are the physical manifestation of Daishi, The Great Death. Different religions often have different names for their gods, and those who wish to take a short time to read the basic texts on Daishi (OOC: wiki site) will see why I have drawn the conclusion that the daimons may indeed be the gods of Daishi.

I plan to honor all of our current alliances and hope to repair the relationship with Mesh that will be affected because of the end of the Federation.

I have not been forced to make this change nor am I doing this out of self-preservation, as those who have read my messages from the first appearance of the daimons will know I have been contemplating the possibility that the daimons are indeed the harbingers of Daishi.

Bocephus has been much maligned because of his faith...I understand the full dedication to a faith and how it takes many decisions out of your hands. Faith is an unwavering commitment...not a choice.

Respectfully,

VonGarrett Anderbliss High Warden of Plergoth

Order of the Golden Feather

Report from Louis-Joseph Chénier (2 days, 7 hours ago) Message sent to everyone in "The Blood Cult" I am concerned about the growth of the Order of the Golden Feather, a faith originating from Old Grehk-worship.

"This piece of the Dragon returns to it when we die, it returns to the Golden Dragon to give it new hope, new power to continue its work as the protector of Old Grehks."

"They become the army of the dragon, this is not the main army of Old Grehk or any other realm. They [Old Grehkians] are the heroes of Mankind, the ones we honour. Some of the well known members of this army of the dragon are: [Melian, a queen of Old Grehk, Vagabond, a lord of Old Grehk, Aetheoddry, a knight of Old Grehk, Lars, a hero of Old Grehk, Gorblood, a Marshal of Old Grehk, etc., etc., etc.]"

Older texts are even more explicit:

"The Golden Dragon

The spirit of Old Grehk, not a real dragon. It is the protective energy that protects our beloved realm and it’s citizens. We are all part of it, but some of our realm are more special. It can take on many forms, for example the great dragon, a hero in a crucial battle, a word from a duke, a helping hand, a defending shield. All possible things that it can be, and it is even more. It will protect us with all its might and we serve it with our love. We help it to spread its word, we serve him by serving Old Grehk.

When a man or woman becomes a member of Old Grehk then he or she gains a small piece from the Golden Dragon in them. It is a small piece, some call it honour, other call it the Old Grehkian spirit. We all know it is that small dragon in our soul. This piece of the Dragon returns to it when we die, it returns to the Golden Dragon to give it new hope, new power to continue its work as the protector of our realm."

Even the modern version repeats this:

"This piece of the Dragon returns to it when we die, it returns to the Golden Dragon to give it new hope, new power to continue its work as the protector of Old Grehks."

And their stories: "You have choosen for a path that leads to the future, a path that safes Old Grehk."

The core of the faith itself is Old Grehk-worship. "Order of the Golden Feather". What is the golden feather? They call themselves shards of a golden dragon... The Golden Dragon is Old Grehk itself! They are all feathers (nobles) of the Golden Dragon (Old Grehk).

These people have destroyed the church of Estahism and long have tried to destroy us as well. There is no greater heresy than denying the gods and worshipping the mundane, and for this I see no better example than the Order of the Golden Feather. They are parasites who consume from within. When they faced destruction before Estahism, they spread to other lands, needing new hosts to spread their plague. Thalmarkin and Neo Grehk had no official faiths, and so they spread there and began seducing the leaders, always afraid of the invasion of the foreign faith converting to a seemingly friendly one seemed ideal. They saw the Cult as a competitor and threat, and so they chased it out of Thalmarkin and blocked it from Neo Grehk, and they tried really hard to get to Fronen too. Then, in Neo Grehk, they usurped power and bacme the leaders, the same elite which pretty much now rules Old Grehk since the reunification. In Thalmarkin, I do not know ohw greatly their plague spread but it has become obvious that the realm is not contributing as much as it could to the war effort. Long has the leadership attempted to crush Fronen, and long has that faith been used as a tool against it. Many bloodbaths occured in the north as the Golden feather did their purges of our northern following.

I write you this as I dusted old books and revisited the whole Golden Feather affair. They were declared evil long ago, but many perhaps do not recall or were not there at the time. Furthermore, it was mostly a defensive measure, as their followers were attacking our messengers and they were aggressively preaching in Fronen lands. Further analysis confirmed and furthered my initial stance, and I thought it impotant to share. This research was prompted by the departure of a few Fronenite cultists, some admitting to wanting to convert to the Golden Feather, and to the troubling expansion of that faith into protected lands. The Cult is a very diverse and open faith, many gods are worshipped and this is done in many varying ways... however, other faiths are not. They know of but one word, one path, and seek destruction of all that differs.

Fronenites, you must remain alert, and not let foreigners rot you from within as they did elsewhere. We care for you and help you as we can, but you must continue to help yourself if you are to prosper.

Report from Louis-Joseph Chénier (just sent) Message sent to everyone in your realm (30 recipients) Do you have doubts on the Golden Feather? Their documents are available for all to see, and if they begin a censor, cultist archives on them in Vur Hagin are long and detailed.

Golden Feather

What is the Golden Feather? 99% of their text says nothing other than *who/ follows it and how they follow it. It speaks of who has power and how they exercise it. What is evil, where do we come from, how should we live? You won't find any of that there.

The other 1% is this:

The Golden Dragon

The spirit of Nobility, not a real dragon. It is the protective energy that protects our homes, estates and temples. We are all part of it, but some of us are granted some extra strength, a little extra hope. This helping force can take on many forms, for example the Great Golden Dragon, a hero in a crucial battle, a inspiring word from a duke, a helping hand, a defending shield, a comforting word. All possible things that it can be, and it is even more. It will protect us with all its might and we serve it with our love. We help it to spread its word, we serve him by serving mankind.

When a man or woman becomes a member of this world then he or she gains a small piece from the Golden Dragon in them. It is a small piece, some call it honour, other call it the spirit of Nobility, and even others just call it hope. We all know it is that small dragon in our soul. This piece of the Dragon returns to it when we die, it returns to the Golden Dragon to give it new hope, new power to continue its work as the protector of mankind.

What does this text mean? The only element of mythical in this "religion", the Golden Dragon, is not really a dragon, but the spirit of nobility? And then it is said to be honour or hope? The only lore you will find in their temples tell that, in fact, they are all but nobles, serving nobles, pieces of Old Grehk's heraldry, the Golden Dragon. Then, the people they commemorate are all Old Grehkians who, again, did nothing for the divine, but rather who served Old Grehk. The Order of the Golden Feather is nothing more than the Order of Old Grehk, in the same manner as the Sunguard are the servants of Riombara.
