The Blood Cult/Myths

From BattleMaster Wiki

The Blood Cult is a faith of many origins, and so holds many myths to explain every day life, what has happened, and what will happen, and may even have multiple potentially conflicting myths about explaining the same event. There is little place for refuting the supernatural, in a world where daimons and undead roam the lands, where spellcasters compose scrolls of wild magic, where portals can lead you to the underworld, and where gods walk among the living.

Prophecies

Depiction of the end of the world, as foretold by many theologists. When it is for, though, remains uncertain.

Epic

Epic prophecies tell of grand events which are expected to happen in the future, typically events of colossal importance involving the gods or the societies of men. They foretell glory and doom, and many base their lives around these.

The Fifth Cycle

This is also known as the end of men. The world works in cycles, always returning to the same pattern of creation and destruction, nothing is eternal, not even the gods, much less their creations. As told in the Myth of Creation, humans are the creations of the fourth cycle, and their fate depends on it's sustainment, through the gift of blood to the gods. It is said that as the gods weaken, and the amount of blood which they have received becomes insufficient, otherworldly plagues will infest the worlds of men, either to return to the initial balance or to begin something new, through the destruction of mankind.

The New Tlahtocayotl

The restoration of the great cultist empire, as predicted through consolidation of pagan scripts.

New Tlahtocayotl

Personal

Personal prophecies are accounts given to an individual concerning his future, as interpreted by high-ranking priests. For more information on the practise, one should look here.

Myths

Netherworld

The land of the dead, on the outskirts of the living world. In the early ages, the Xenotl lived here to hide from the Xelatl.

Daimons

Spirits of the Netherworld, creations of the Xelatl.

Undead

Residents of the Abyss and servants of Itzpapalotl. They are the deceased followers of the Xenotl, who serve the Dark Mistress until they are ready for their next life.
