The Blood Cult/Cuachitl of Light

Compilations are not yet available for essays of the Cuachitl of Light.

They are said to be in constant confrontation with the Cuachitl of Darkness, namely the Daimons, the Undead, and the Monsters. They have come to this world as vessels of Gods, allowing men to sacrifice their blood to tap into its divine potential. It is, however, unknown what gods they serve and what their ultimate purpose on this world is. Sources say that this weakens the barrier between the divine and the mortal world, as every bust of their energy allows greater numbers of the forces of darkness to arrive to balance the immediate loss they suffer. They come preaching salvation, but are depicted as destroyers of the world as others.

They have currently sought to establish themselves among the Damned, creating further doubt on their motives. The Damned, who waged war on the faithful because of their Blood Sacrifices, are now sacrificing unprecedented amounts of blood to these beings, never in Cultist History so much blood having been spilled in such short periods. More is yet to come.

Accounts of the Cuachitl of Light

Marta

Roleplaying Event Message sent to the Rulers of Beluaterra (14 recipients) The people of Creasur make excuses to stop by the Temple of Daishi all day, and keep looking expectantly at the doors where Marta, the Servant of Light, entered yesterday. Since that time, those who have dared to look inside have seen her chanting, inscribing symbols on the floor in front of the altar, or just kneeling on the floor within the designs with her eyes closed.

Suddenly, the temple bursts forth with a pure white light. The light travels outward through the skies above the entire continent in a vast ring.

When those near the temple are able to see once more, Marta stands on its steps. The temple is still shining with a gentle white light, and Marta herself shines as well. Her robe, once stained and rumpled, is now crisp, clean, and pure white. Her face is tired and damp with sweat, but full of triumph and exultation.

Marta raises her hands and lets out a loud, wordless cry of joy. Then she speaks, and her warm voice is heard around the entire continent.

"The Temple of Light is complete. The curse of mortality which fell upon this continent with the first cracking of the seal is lifted! The hordes of Darkness can now be vanquished, and hope shall be reborn in every human heart. People of Beluaterra, rejoice!"

Marta sways, and a white-robed acolyte moves to support her. With a smile, she leans on his arm as she walks back into the temple. In the doorway, she turns around and speaks once more. "Now, my children, I must remain with the Temple, to gather the power needed to purify the land, and to protect it from the Darkness that would see every light put out."

She disappears inside the temple to the sound of wild cheering from the gathered people of Creasur.

Around the same time, other rumours begin to reach your ears: the Daimons, Undead, and Monsters have begun blockading the ports in response to the creation of the Temple of Light. No one will be able to immigrate to the continent until they are all defeated.

Marta

Roleplaying Event Message sent to everyone in the vicinity of Creasur (70 recipients) After spending some time in meditation, Marta emerges to speak to the people. Her face is troubled.

"My children, I have some sobering news. I am not yet sure what the cause of it is—whether the forces of Darkness have found some power that partially blocks the strength of the Light, or the lifting of the curse of mortality used more of the Light's power than we thought—but the Purifying Light cannot be used as frequently as we have been using it. I will need more time to ensure that the necessary energies can be gathered after each time it is used, so we can now only cleanse the land of the forces of Darkness once a day.

"But do not despair! This will still be more than enough to ensure that the dark forces that assail us are thrust back! Humanity and the Light will still win the day, my children."

She smiles, but it is a slightly shaky smile, and she does not stay long to talk to the people, returning back inside the Temple.

Marta

Letter from Marta (3 hours, 20 minutes ago) Terence, If you wish to give your blood to the power of the Light, that will help in allowing the Purifying Light to be used again more swiftly.

Otherwise, the best way to fight the Darkness is to do just that: take up arms, rally the armies of humanity, and fight them. Renounce your allegiance to the Daimons, and help to cast them from the world.

Marta

Gerontius

Roleplaying Event (just in) Message sent to everyone in the vicinity of Cori (29 recipients) Gerontius looks south across the broken plains of Cori to Cteduul, and covers his nose and mouth with a fold of his cloak, wrinkling his nose in disgust. "Ptah! Those foul beasts have ruined the place," he growls. "There is nothing more I can do here. Such a shame."

He looks north, to Stempleto, and southeast, to Lacint.

"Now, which way to go? I have heard that in the north they have joined with the dead, and in the islands they have joined with the beasts...that does not leave many good choices."

Oh no? We couldn't reinforce Avalon and Enweil because of Hetland's magic dealings...take a look:

Lights in the Sky (1 hour, 31 minutes ago)

As you are going about your business, the temple of Daishi in Creasur bursts forth with a blinding white light, shooting straight up into the sky. Moments later, an answering light streaks down in Xinjin. This must have something to do with the Servants of Light people have been whispering about.

An entire army was obliterated in Xinjin, over 25k in strength...

We need humanity to crush Creasaur for the magics are too powerful here, and they have turned our own technology against us! The very same shields we established around our portals to allow only those of our genetic code to cross, have been twisted, and set up in Creasaur...only humans can enter/exit the city..

Tell me, then, should we just walk away so they can teleport immense waves of energy at us resulting in complete obliteration?

There is immense evil taking place in Creasaur...humanity is the only one able to destroy it.

They have corrupted our technology somehow, a feat impossible for Man alone...we must have a betrayer here...but in any case, they have used our genetic based force fields to allow only humans to enter and leave Creasaur...they have further turned our teleportation abilities into outbursts of immense energy that wipe everything out on impact. Teleporting "blanks" so to speak...all that energy has to leave...

It is something in your blood, the same thing the monsters and undead are attracted to. Something in human blood that I haven't figured out, but it is a dangerous weapon:

They are not creatures..they are using our technology against us. What is normally used as a force field barrier, and a teleportation devise...is sending forth bursts of energy...I was seriously wounded...I am lightly wounded, to almost die by your own weapons is insanity... Humans should not have this sort of technology at their disposal, it is far too dangerous...we never used it as a weapon for that very reason. Whoever is doing this, is going to blow up this Island....but they use your blood for fuel which is amazing. I knew your blood was special, but even I have not uncovered all the secrets yet...someone has a better lab than I do here...

Sherilynn

Report from Sherilynn Delsantos
The gullible fools in Hetland and Sint have committed the most insane of all possible acts. It is inconceivable that they have agreed to deal with these Servants of what you have only known so far as the mythical "fourth faction".

These temples of light are not the salvation of humanity they would have you believe. The Servants have cloaked themselves in the trappings of salvation only to draw the gullible into willingly giving their own lives. In this manner the Servants need not put themselves at risk. They simply use the life energy of their willing victims to unleash horrific forces of destruction. At the same time they siphon off some of the energy to stage an attack the barriers that hold back their masters. Should he sacrifices be allowed to continue unabated, the energy they amass will eventually be sufficient to drop these last barriers. If that happens then you shall truly come to know the meaning of "hell on earth".

This is no fabrication, I swear unto you. The weakening of these barriers has also widened those gates through which we summon our own daimons. We have been able to begin bringing forth large numbers of our own daimon soldiers. The undead and monsters will also have taken advantage of this weakening of the barriers to summon large numbers of their own forces as well, and will continue to do so for so long as the temples of light continue to drain the life-energy of your world through the unwitting sacrifices.

We must work together quickly to destroy these temples of light. If they are allowed to continue to siphon off the life energy of humanity, then all of us shall be destroyed when the Servants finally bring down the final barriers.
Sherilynn Delsantos (Goddess and Collector of Netherworld)

Letter from Sherilynn Delsantos
Beware, humans! You know not what forces with which you play. With every human sacrifice you so willingly pledge, you weaken the barriers ever further. Think you that these "prophets of light" will not demand a price for their aid? You build a debt each time you wield their infernal power. You cannot postpone the repayment of this debt forever. When the barriers are gone, they will come to claim it.
Sherilynn Delsantos (Goddess and Collector of Netherworld)

I see that my predictions have born fruit far faster than even I expected. Already the "forces of light" have pulled back their power. Now that you have been given a taste of what they can do, they start to make excuses for why they can't keep producing it. What next? Will they begin to ask for greater, and more frequent sacrifices in order to keep the power flowing? I warn you, humans: You know not the power of that with which you play! Your meddling in these powers you cannot comprehend could very well be the doom of us all.
Sherilynn Delsantos (Goddess and Collector of Netherworld)

Benton, you are a spineless dog. You betray not only your alliances, but your oaths and your faith. It was only a few short months ago that you got on your knees before me, acknowledged my godhood, and pledged your very soul to my service. Now when you meet the first true test of your faith, you tremble like leaf in the wind and forswear all your oaths and loyalties.

Look, all of you, and see what kind of lackeys the "servants of light" call to their service: Forsworn, faithless cowards.

Ahh... Had I only known that humans were so gullible, that they'd be willing to open their own veins for the promise of a little bit of power, and a flash of light from the sky. When the barriers finally collapse, and They finally return to these lands, I shall have to congratulate them on their brilliant ploy. By the time They arrive, all of you humans will have killed yourselves in your foolish greed.

People are KILLING THEMSELVES to feed an energy that wipes out our genetic markers...but they could affect monsters and undead, theoretically...it all depends on how much they know, and who is pulling the strings.

Helping humans have cost us so much. We were the only realm to stand up for man, and lost many comrades against the monsters...and this is how we are repaid. So sad.

All things have unexpected consequences. All of these power surges they are beaming across your world will have some sort of effect. At any rate, all of our armies are being obliterated. Prudent and her bodyguard Keeper are both critically wounded...

Try to discover what you can. We cannot fight our own technology being used against us. If only we knew the identity of the betrayer...and Prudent would be the only one able to find a way...and she has been assassinated by the equivalent of a "bomb" in human terms. She will recover...but to what...

Meeting in Cresur

Roleplay from Guillaume Chénier
Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (50 recipients)
So be it, Guillaume thought, though he was reluctant to move forth. He arrived at the entrance of the Daishi temple, shuddering at the mere thought of entering such a despicable place. Much suffering had been cause by these people, these fools, these hypocritical fools. What had to be done had to be done.

He penetrated inside and went for Marta, though she did not seem to care for his approach as he did. He walked slowly, carefully, he knew how dangerous this place was.

"Marta..." He paused. "Servant of the Light." He bowed, then looked her in the eyes as he continued. "We... are afraid. The world is afraid. Do you bring the salvation we all pray for? Or do you bring the destruction we fear for? We... We want to believe. But..." Guillaumed paused a bit, looking around him. The stares were angry, murderous. "Here you are, among the Damned, protecting them. These people... are punished by the gods. They are murderers, oath-breakers. Before this invasion, they hunted down people, people doing what you ask humanity to now do. They swore never to side with the invaders, that they'd rather die, that they would always be the vanguard of humanity. But when the invaders came, and we pleaded for their help... none came. We suffered against the monster hordes, and they sat and did nothing. Then the daimons came, and told them they had to help against the monsters and the undead. They refused, blocking the sole source of assistance we could hope for. And for this, they were punished. Are punished. For their hypocrisy, egoism, dishonour, and murders. Look at their diplomatic relations, they are the only realm to have signed peace with the monster puppets of Meridian Republic. They signed peace with the monsters, it was only the latter which broke it and not the Damned themselves. Never once did they fight the monsters that plague the South or the undead who consume the North. The only ones they ever fought are the only ones who ever stood alongside man to defend him. And as for Sint... you could say their moral compass always points South. There are always the first to worship the daimons, and then the first to say they've repented. Now two invasions in a row."

He emptied his lungs before finishing. "If you are the forces of Good, if you are here to save us, why do you work with people so Evil?"
Guillaume Chénier (Ambassador of Enweil, Duke of Iato, Third Teocoatl of the Blood Cult)

Roleplay from Regstav Pryde (15 hours, 49 minutes ago) Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (48 recipients) Marta, we have faced Guillaume Chénier for many years.

When Reeds rebelled from Creasur when I was young, it allied with the Daimoms. The Chénier family was there in those times. It was that family who was either the founder or one of the founding members of the Blood Cult, a religion devoted to sacrificing people to the Daimons, to support their power and give them strength. On your way through Weghie, you possibly saw one of their temples, maintained by the Order of Daishi so that the memories of their actions and rituals would never be forgotten.

Guillaume, we never tried to stop the Daimons from moving through our lands. We couldn't have if we'd wanted to. We in fact told them that if they wished to fight the Monsters, we would allow them through our lands. For a time they did that, moving to face the Monsters. Then they changed their minds. Then they decided to destroy us, and then they swarmed our lands and while the Monsters destroyed Avalon they did nothing but rape our lands.

They could have saved your ally. Instead they chose to destroy us. I know your family has followed the Daimons for most of my life, but consider this. The Daimons chose to assault a nation that had not moved against them since the fall of Heen and Mesh. They chose to assault a nation that had given them free passage to support you and your alliance. And when your allies were on the verge of destruction, the Daimons abandoned them, just as the Monsters abandoned us to destroy Avalon.

These invaders are not trustworthy. They do not consider us equals. They do not consider us worthy of their efforts. We are food to them. No lasting alliance can ever be created between sheep and lions, at least not one that requires new sheep every day. We may be sheep to them, but we are well-armed sheep, and we are contesting their vote on who to eat.

Roleplay from Guillaume Chénier (15 hours, 52 minutes ago) Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (48 recipients) You need not ask, I will answer.

My allegiance is to the realm of man. My current realm and the promised realm of the future where all shall live in the plentiness of the gods. My acts with the forces of darkness have been to give courage to peasants and nobles, to tell them to stand strong and proud against those who would consume them, not to lose hope before the overwhelming odds they are pitted against. My religion is the one who lost the most during this invasion, all of our remaining elders, that the Damned did not murder themselves, were executed by the daimons for refusing to bow so such beings. My love of the daimons is the love that a man has for the people who murdered all of his brothers.

These people will try to deceive you, they always do. If you are sent by the gods, then I know you will see through their lies.

Guillaume Chénier Duke of Iato, Ambassador of Enweil

Roleplay from Vivi Anderbliss (7 hours ago) Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (45 recipients) As the expansion of the temple was being complete, Vivi addressed the crowd at the event.

"In order to commemorate the sacrifices of those who have built the foundation of our religion, I have ordered the enlarging of the temple in Creasur. The Tirelli family donated much of the gold prior to willingly sacrificing their life for the light, so the dedication for the temple is in honor of Bleeder, Rikardon, Telea, and Kauffman...they are and always will be missed.

The Blessing of the Light has given us hope against the forces of evil, and although there is some trepidation about use of this unknown power, one cannot deny that the protection of the Light has aided in the survival of our realm. Only time will tell if the Light is the answer to humanity's desperate pleas in the face of certain death or a false ray of hope. Ever the optimist and steadfast in my faith, I am confident that the Light is part of the answer to ridding our lands of the dark forces.

For Daishi...for humanity!"

Vivi Anderbliss Ambassador of Hetland

Roleplay from Vivi Anderbliss (7 hours ago) Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (45 recipients) As the roar of the gathered crowd began to dwindle, Vivi scanned the gathered throng for one specific face. Because she had only seen him once, Vivi was not sure if the man she was about to address was even present.

Guillaume Chenier,

If you are in attendance and are willing to put the needs and survival of humanity above the petty feud between our families, religions, and realms, I invite you to step forward and help me set the last stone in place on the temple. This does not signify your acceptance of Daishi in any way, but stands as a symbol of the unified strength of humanity against forces that would seek to destroy us all. Humanity will not survive through an alliance with daimons, monsters, undead, or on sole reliance on the Light...we humans must band together as one, or there is no hope for a future. There will be no chosen realms if humanity loses to the dark forces...we all shall perish. What say you?"

Vivi Anderbliss Ambassador of Hetland

Roleplaying Event (5 minutes ago) Message sent to everyone in the vicinity of Creasur (59 recipients) Marta regards the two men bickering with maternal exasperation and disappointment.

"Guillaume, it is well known to me that you and yours have allied with the Daimons. Even now, when you come to me, you do not ask to be protected from them, only from the monsters and the undead.

"You call these people Evil, but they are the ones working to drive back the Darkness, while you invite it into your hearts. You even call the people here 'the Damned,' passing judgment upon them.

"We do not come to pick and choose among humanity, rewarding the virtuous and condemning the corrupt. We seek only to drive back the Darkness. To do this, we must have Temples that are free from taint, that we can bless. I know little of my son's actions in Sint, but from the feel, the temple he found was pure when he blessed it."

Her face softens and she holds out a hand to Guillaume.

"This does not mean you should despair, Guillaume, or think that we of the Light are against you. We want all the peoples of humanity to put aside their differences and stand once more against the Darkness. It is never too late for redemption. Even one with his hands steeped in the blood of innocents may cry out against the injustice of all he has done and all he sees, and seek to atone for his deeds."

Marta

Roleplay from Guillaume Chénier (24 minutes ago) Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (41 recipients) Guillaume sighed, disappointed. "And those here allied with the monsters, and yet here you established yourself. The Daimons have never asked anything in return for their help. They sacrificed many of theirs to protect us. Indeed, we never, ever, gave them anything in return. The principle was pretty straight-forward: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Not once did we, or any of our allies, attack humanity during the invasion. So if you judge us for allying the daimons, then you judge us for refusing to be the monsters' lunch and accepting help when it is offered without strings attached. I speak of the monsters and undead because you do not. The daimons plague 1 realm, the two others plague the rest of the continent. And never have they shown any form of sympathy. You do a lot here, but where the monsters ravaged, you simply moved on, uncaring for the suffering of our Avalonian brothers and sisters. You say we accept darkness into our hearts... you dishonour the countless who gave their life in battle, their very last words being cries of agony, their very last sights being claws and teeth. The many who died fighting to protect those of us still living today. Fighting to prevent the monster taint from spreading, to deny them access to our fertile lands. If you do not see the monsters as a great evil that must be fought, or the undead that enslave your body and force you into your ranks, then I do not know what to think of you. Black and white... my hands are clean. Man does no belong to these worlds, man is of the gray. To think otherwise is to misunderstand our nature and our place in this world."

He turned to Vivi, saddened. "This temple... is a symbol of death, persecution, and fear to my people. On hearsay and rumours, the people of this faith banded and chased the faithful to the four corners of these lands. I was not there in the times, and I was told that for this I should be thankful. The tales of it are bone-chilling, the zeal of the likes of Lunarion Lefanis, which your realm was so eager to follow and whose relative now leads the monster colony is too horrible to detail. When in war, the military people of these lands often preferred to run around to torch our temples than to defend your lands against invaders. And now... look at this place. This is a blood bath. Your temple has more blood on it than any of ours. Look at yourselves. Some nice-looking beings come about and call themselves the "light", speak of salvation. Just as you needed little more than a few words to go on a rampage against you, again you need nothing more than a few words to sacrifice your life to these beings, on which you know absolutely nothing. You are playing with the fate of the whole continent, all by yourselves, without thought, consideration, or discussion. You keep on giving, feeding them, empowering them. The seal lasted much longer against them than against any of the others... perhaps there was a pretty good reason for that. The thing is, we don't know, and actions are being made without anyone truly understanding the consequences."

"I pray for the survival of mankind on these lands... but I fear if Daishi, The New Way of the Dragon and Hemaism are what they consider 'purity', if the undead and the monsters are not considered a great enough threat. Just as the sun gives us life, nurturing the lands but burning everything when it is too strong, I fear for what would happen if these Cuachitl of Light get too strong and there is no Darkness left to balance them out."

Guillaume Chénier Duke of Iato, Ambassador of Enweil

Roleplay from Vivi Anderbliss (7 hours, 36 minutes ago) Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (41 recipients) Ambassador Guillaume,

Unlike my uncle who seemed to live to argue with everyone, I am here to seek solutions on how humans can survive this invasion together. Allying with the daimons, monsters, or undead is not the answer; if this is not well established, ask any of the realms that have been wholly or partly destroyed by any of these factions...all of these dark forces have been responsible for much death and destruction. To the best of my knowledge, few realms have "willingly" sided with any of those factions, instead doing so on the eve of destruction or under threats of destruction. To say that Hetland or Enweil did not enter into their alliances under times of impending doom would be an incorrect assessment of the situations of our two realms at the time.

In regards to the Light, it was not a few words that persuaded us to seek their blessing, but rather having every single one of our regions, save Creasur being TO'd by daimons at once. We have been able to mostly cleanse our remaining lands, and have caused quite a stir among the daimons and humans in the Netherworld. Since it is doubtful they really care about the fate of humanity, I can only assume that their panic is more centered around their own vulnerability to the Light. If we had a choice to utilize the Blessing less, we absolutely would, however the daimons have refused to leave our lands alone, even when I said their presence was the reason for use of the Light. Should the Undead or Monsters attack regions in which there is enough of a Daishi presence to utilize the Blessing, then those regions will also be protected. Should you yourself call for aid in Iato against any of the dark forces, I will answer your call for help.

Yes, there is bad blood between our religions, and I am not going to argue the semantics of involuntary versus voluntary bloodletting for Godly blessings. My question to you, Ambassador to Ambassador (as opposed to priest to priest), how can we get our two realms to work together? If Enweil and Hetland can work together as equals in the quest to help humanity survive, then there is hope that the entire continent, other than perhaps the Meridian Republic, could ban together to expel the dark forces.

Vivi Anderbliss Ambassador of Hetland

Roleplay from Guillaume Chénier Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (41 recipients) I understand the pressure you face, but am convinced you would have acted with more restraint were you being invaded by the undead, and it was the daimons who asked for your blood and lives. Religion unfortunately cannot be dismissed when the question at hand is the sacrifice of one's life to powerful beings. I would not be so naive as to think that any of the forces of darkness were fully honest or that they weren't simply trying to protect their own self-interests, but some of the assertions are quite grave. The daimons have stated that the usage of these powers, while dispelling great number of forces, widens the holes between our worlds and therefore allow them to bring back even greater numbers. This allegation is serious, and man must use as much restraint as possible when wielding new weapons he doesn't understand. Nor truly wields himself, but rather fuels. And I understand the threat that was befalling you, but that the Servants of the Light come to a realm with still many regions while letting the people of Avalon and Thalmarkin to their misery is dismaying. Why would they even waste their time in Sint, which kissed ass the whole invasion as in the previous. And declare Hemaism as "pure"? Really? A faith based on a god of Destruction is pure? A god they tried, via the daimons, to bring forth in the last invasion, to come and destroy all of their foes? The faith that knelled down and accepted the daimons as their gods? On more than one occasion? There has been much propaganda, lies and deceit depicting the Cult as "daimon worshippers". The truth couldn't be further. We have always opposed the faith whenever it propped up. Daimon worship is idol worship, and that is one of the greatest sins man can commit. To claim that the daimons are equal to the gods is to disrespect them and summon their wrath.

This is part of what unsettles me about what is going on here. To give blood... there is nothing more sacred. Our blood holds great power, we have always known and preached this. We must therefore be responsible about what we do with it. Giving blood has a certain level of... intimacy, it brings you closer to you god. A vulgar but somewhat enlightening comparison would be with sex: you have it with the one dear to you, it is not morally acceptable to just go fornicating with strangers in the streets, not by any people now living that I know of. To give one's life... is a marriage of the soul. When you give your own life to your god, a strong link is created, your soul is bounded to the deity. This link cannot just be cancelled, you cannot just change your mind. If you marry a bad person in your mortal life, you are stuck with them for a few dozen years, perhaps, most people don't live past 40ish or so. Your soul, however, is not so short-lived. I beg you to consider this as you step fourth on that altar.

I do not know how we can aid each other, Ambassador. The walls that separate the realms of these lands are more than just in the minds of the people who live them. Just as you cannot turn your backs to the daimons, we cannot turn ours to the monsters, and to the Meridian Republic. You can swear, if you wish, to the eradication of the Meridian Republic and the execution of all those who joined them (none of them can be considered to have done so by force at this point, the realm was a secession created with that purpose in mind and they had plenty of time to move on elsewhere). It will be long before you can actually act on that promise, however.

Roleplay from Vivi Anderbliss (11 hours, 18 minutes ago) Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (37 recipients) Ambassador Guillaume,

Please consider the people of Heen and Mesh before you speak of the plight of Thalmarkin and Avalon. It is unfortunate that you are so set in your beliefs/biases and trust in the Netherworld, as you have shown nothing in your statements that indicate your desire to work with humanity to rid the island of all dark forces.

How is wielding the Light different than utilizing daimons or monsters as allies against assaults from other evil factions? There are costs associated with these alliances, just as I am sure there is more to the Light than we know...but I and all of Hetland will use what we have at our disposal in order to protect our lands, even if we do not have the approval of the Netherworld or Enweil.

We are already at war with the monsters to whom we once turned to for protection from your "protectors," the daimons, and we have never once supported the Meridian Republic in their assaults on human lands. I hope that one day we and our realms can work together, but based on your statements, I am saddened to say that today is not that day. Please continue to enjoy the hospitality of Creasur for another day, then please return to your realm or other duties, so we may once again focus on our battle for survival.

Respectfully,

Vivi Anderbliss Ambassador of Hetland

Roleplay from Guillaume Chénier (1 hour, 5 minutes ago) Message sent to everyone in the region Creasur (37 recipients) The people of Mesh and Heen are already gone, it is too late to save them. Thalmarkin, however, still has a little left, and Avalon is on its last breaths. They are dying, already considered dead by some. Hetland could have survived some time still, as long as you have your capital you will survive. Avalon, however, can't wait. And the Servants of the Light, when they came, basically just shrugged and turned away. I would not accept that Avalon was not worth the effort. Blasting the monsters around Cteduul could have allowed them to recapture their capital, the Enweilian armies could have taken on the Meridian Republic if so necessary, no doubt the warriors of Bara'Khur would have come as well. Avalon isn't even given a chance, so I find trouble in finding justice in these Cuachitl.

I want all of them gone. I desire for the rule of men to return. However, we won't have the rule of men if some fourth faction sticks around after we drive off the things that compete with it. How can we know they will leave, after we give them so much power? My desire would have been to reforge the Seal, have them all shut out of this world for good, or at least for long enough. I am said the Seal cannot be restored, however...

I don't ask that you let yourselves die... But I ask prudence. You do not need 20 regions to survive, do not get greedy and let the power get to your mind. You can reclaim your lost regions after the invasion is over, and once the effects of these sacrifices are understood.

And remember that the daimons say every time you use this, they can summon much more. If this is true, you will bleed yourself to death to slow but empower their advance. And then you will likely not be the only ones to be steamrolled.

And I beg you, break your peace with the Meridian Republic, declare war on them. There would be no other greater sign of solidarity in these times and circumstances than that. I am convinced that some of them will later claim "it was all a show, it was to get the monsters trust to better put them down" and other such lies. Their heart is corrupt. They have killed another human realm, no one else has done that, no one else has went that far. They are all accomplices, if not direct actors, of the greatest crime man can commit in these lands. All of their names have been collected, and they will have to be put to justice when this invasion ends. Join us, call out the Meridian Republic for the crimes they have committed and pledge yourselves to bringing them all to justice.

Report from Matt Stafford (8 hours, 47 minutes ago) Message sent to the human rulers of Beluaterra (10 recipients) Human Rulers of Beluaterra,

Yesterday reports came out of Pel Mark of some new creatures appearing. They speak words of peace, and helping humanity fight against the darkness as they fight for the light. There are three of them, one of them is currently in Wudenkin, one was moving towards Avalon, and the last was moving towards either Sint or OG. Again, they do not speak of right or wrong, they say they are the saviors that are the light coming from the darkness.

A few hours ago, it looked as if the Daimons were about to destroy us. Reports showed that nearly 60k CS worth of them were going to make their way to Creasur.

Then the Light Marta said Creasur was under her protection and that if they came they would die. The Daimon lords did not march, though one of their human slaves and his men did not turn around and tried to sneak into our city. That slave is in our dungeons now.

It appears that the Lights can stop the Daimons. I do not know for how long, I do not know how they do it, I do not know anything more. But they say they are here to fight the Darkness, to offer the blessings of their Light to us, and we currently have the blessing of another day that we would not have had.

Seek out the Lights if you can, and do so with a pure heart. If they find you, they may be able to protect you.

Regstav Pryde Marshal of The Western Alliance and General of Hetland, Senator of Ypsilanti, Marshal of the Arms of Creasur

This temple has been granted the Blessings of Light. This is a powerful weapon in the fight against the forces of darkness that invade the land. The power of the purifying light that cleanses the land of the servants of darkness takes a great deal of mystical energy, which must be gathered by the Servants of Light before the power can be used. However, it can be supplemented by sacrifices given by those who wish to fight the darkness, no matter their faith. These sacrifices must be given willingly, and must be in blood.

If you wish to make a sacrifice, please decide how much you are willing to give for the cause of the Light. Beware, for the blood that is taken will spill out some of your life with it.

Spill a little blood - this will leave you unable to act for a day or so Spill a lot of blood - this may leave you unable to act for several days Give your life for the cause - the ultimate sacrifice: give up your life for the good of all humanity

Letter from Benton Aelradir Message sent to the human rulers of Beluaterra (10 recipients) Behold,

the second temple to the Light has been constructed in Firbalt. Virgil, son of Marta has deemed us worthy of his blessing. Know that Sint is offering full cooperation to drive out the outlandish forces to anyone. However, we currently have undead sitting in our city of Keffa and the daimons to our north have shown their contempt for our actions. We all know Sint was seen with much concern for her actions, many of which I had to take my share of guilt. We have however chosen a new path, renewed our faith, to Hemaglobe and Mankind, and are looking forward to fighting alongside all of you again.

Sinister hearts may still judge us with prejudice, but to them nothing but a fair warning, we do not live in the time to hold a grudge, we must look forward or we are all doomed.

Yours truly,

Benton Aelradir Pontifex of Sint, Baron of Dald

Some more info on the Heralds of Light:

So far little is actually known about these being, the clothing they wear makes it next to impossible to tell what they are. What we do know is this:

They have genders, male and female. A female was last seen heading south, a male is in Wudenkin and another mystery one was last seen heading north.

They claim to be the light coming from the darkness, humankind's last and really only hope.

Finally, their main objective seems to be to get all the information they can about all the religions we follow on the continent.
