History of Tara
Years ago, The Cagilan Empire had grown big, maybe too big Cagilan_Empire/Ancient_History. At the same time a lot of Troop Leaders' ego had grown and they were aiming to become king of something. Then Duke of Tarasac, Jamuga saw that his time had come, he called Tarasac off from the Cagilan Empire. Shortly many ex-Cagilan Empire warriors joined under Tara's flag. Cagilan Empire and Tara have always had good relations between them because most Taran warriors were good friends with old veterans of the Cagilan Empire.
From the very beginning Tara has been warring, there have not been many weeks that Tara has not been involved in wars, and usually these wars have been fought on our borders.
Tara grew rapidly, Tara and her allies marched and rampaged south and destroyed a realm known as Lamar. Carelia is now about where Lamar used to be.
Jamuga stepped down in about July (2005) and Achilles was elected as Dictator of Tara.
Abington and Redspan are south, Falasan and Ash Sea Islands are north and east. These realms have been Tara's enemies for some time. Now things have changed, we can say that for the first time in Taran history, Tara has been beaten, beaten by internal betrayals and external wars causing some of our allies to look after their own realms and leaving Tara for short times alone, but not always, just enough to cause us to pull out of Aja.
Our first external betrayal came when RedSpan betrayed CE, Carelia and Tara and signed an alliance with Abington, ASI and Falasan as well as Minas Ithil, their motives unclear save that they claimed no support from CE and her allies.
Our first internal betrayal was Ari - Executor of Tara, who attempted to create a rebellion, a nation by itself using Foda as his base. He had lost faith in our future, and claimed to help Tara by succeeding Foda. That was thwarted before it ever got off the ground. Then, came Victor - Duke of Sullenport, who in an argument over his role in Tara surrendered Sullenport to ASI, landing a devastating blow to Tara's income and property rights. Then came Leonid, who, in defense of his brother, Victor, cursed Tyrant Achilles and swore vengeance, trying to cause a rebellion using words, but was also thwarted by the brave soldiers of Tara in their defense of their Tyrant. Then shortly there-after Tuchanon IV was created, and Est Is and Edvard the Deacon - Executor of Tara joined that realm and left Tara. Tara had made a valiant effort to relocate their capital to Sullenport, and made it to their very gates. But, it was one day too late, as Abington forces poured into Sullenport, blocking Tara and her allies from entering. Our armies and our allies armies had had a string of victories in our march south and it had taken its toll on our valiant, courageous army. We had to fall back to Aja. On our return trip, Dagger, a troop leader of Tara informed our enemies of our troop movements, and Tara quickly changed movements, causing Dagger and Leonid to get hit by the enemy forces in a fake order designed to throw our enemy off. As we returned to Aja, Achilles decided to fall back to Aja and negotiate peace with ASI in exchange for Aja.
Part of our allies were distracted and could not come to our aid. Darka started a war against Talerium, suddenly we were short 2 allied realms. Of course Falasan and Barony of Makar/Norland noticed this opportunity, Falasan broke all contracts made with them and began to invade Tara's lands along with ASI. BoM/Norland attacked Eston, so Eston was tied up to the north and couldn’t help Tara either.
Tara has always been under strong Tyrants, which of course from time to time has caused some internal issues, but Tara has always survived.
Tara's time will come again, we had far too many internal issues to fight an external war.
In early 2006 Tara was engaged in a war to the south with Redspan, Carelia and Abington. Our direct supporters were Cagilan Empire and Darka. Ash Sea Islands and Falasan were fighting the same enemy forces for Sullenport, first trying to use diplomacy.
On 24 January 2007, Eston declared war on Falasan. With so many wars and proxy wars currently ongoing (Norland+Allies vs. Minas Ithil+Allies), the diplomatic and political standing of many realms remained in doubt. Basically, it's Eston/Darka vs. Falasan/ASI.
However... from uncertainty breeds opportunity.
The Eston vs. Falasan War opened many doors not just for Tara but for nearly all of the smaller realms eager to expand. Redspan, in particular, began agitating for a campaign against ASI for Rogeshore while encouraging the recently allied Tara to attack Aja. Eston, as well, began to press for an invasion into former Taran lands in Falasan. Threatened with a two-front war and/or the loss of her only ally, Falasan sued for peace in return for Aigaling, Chagasu and Jagla. Unable to face ASI's might alone, Redspan negotiated a generous settlement instead. By April 2007, the three regions were firmly in Tara's control.
Proxy Wars are unpredictable things...
As mentioned before, 2007 was the year of fighting unofficially. In addition to the declared wars, there were many shadow wars and outright assaults being waged under the cover of "helping your allies". These were believed to be a risk-free alternative without the risk of losing land.
Enter Redspan and Abington...
Eager to expand for one and eager for vengeance for both, Redspan and Abington had axes to grind the size of a small city. The recent wars have been unkind to both realms. Though not as bad as Tara, Redspan and Abington suffered greatly. With the age of proxy wars, both eagerly sought payback.
Abington marshalled her mighty army and headed north to participate in the Norland vs. Minas Ithil War. Hitting Minas Ithil from the rear, they caused massive damage and confusion. So much so that Minas Ithil called on her own allies, Talerium and CE, to come to her aid. The path of Abington north was bloody as their armies were intercepted. Though victorious, Abington was damaged enough to minimize her influence and the Northern War was back to a stalemate.
Redspan, meanwhile, was busy fighting a shadow war against Darka, CE, Tara and Talerium. Despite a raid into BoM early in the year and her ASI aggression, Redspan's greatest successes were her assasinations. Ranking Leaders fell in the face of her dreaded Infiltrators. On 25 January 2007, a combined army from Darka, Talerium and BoM marched into Meldeen. Caught completely by surprise, Stargard fell virtually undefended. Until Abington and Carelia arrived in aid, the invaders inflicted legendary damage throughout Redspan before withdrawing. Despite this, Redspan still continued her shadow war.
Stuff like that can make your allies nervous...
Carelia, arguably the only real loser in the recent 2006 war (everybody else lost only their pride), became worried that the next war would mean their extinction. Concerned that their allies Redspan and Abington were sticking Carelia's neck out to fight their proxy wars, Carelia broke their Federation with the Southern Alliance in mid-April. Mad King Kronos, who knows his friends better than anyone, knew that the only way to ensure his safety was if his vindictive former partners weren't there anymore. Thus begins the war...
After securing the return of several regions from Falasan with threats and the backing of CE, Tara looked south. With the help of Carelia (as well as in part CE, Darka and Talerium), Redspans was defeated and her regions claimed by Tara and Carelia. Abington, without the cushion of the Goats and with few allies in the face of CE's wrath was torn apart by inner conflict.
On February 23, 2008, Prime Minister Vengeance of the Cagilan Empire formally handed over rulership of Tarasac to Dictator Lister of Tara. Thus fulfilling the promise made long ago. The City of Tarasac has been returned.
War was declared on February 25, 2008 against the Ash Sea Islands. With Tara's south now protected, the war quickly moved north with the CE attacking Falasan, and Tara and Carelia attacking ASI (once again with the help of the western allies). After ages of warfare ASI and Falasan were both completely destroyed. Tara now stretched from Stargard in the South, to Tarasac in the North, to Foda in the west, to Aja in the east. Falasan was colonized by CE into Coria, and Caerogoth, which once Abington Terroritory, now held much old ASI land and was allied with the "southern alliance"
The southern alliance was strong with CE, Carelia, Tara, and Talerium at its heart and the newly formed realms of Coria and Caergoth in support. Minis Ithil still showed support for the remnants of Falasan and the south moved on the north. Norland fell due to inner revolt and the realm of Eston stood by Minis Ithil though failed to give much military support. Darka, once purely mercenary, now showed support for the north. Minis Ithil was beaten and reduced in size, and her former lands were annexed by Coria.

2005
September
- Tara has fallen back to 4 regions in and around Foda. Sorting out our internal conflicts so that one day, when the time is right, we may rise again to greatness
October
- Tara joined forces with Abington, Redspan, Carelia, Cagilan Empire, Darka and Telerium in one of the largest alliances in the history of Atamara. The forces we are fighting are Falasan, Minas Ithil, Ash Sea Islands and Drachenwald
November
- 3rd - Si Ju Jarugi from the Petterson family in Drachenwald attempted to assasinate Achilles of Tara. While Achilles was getting ready to go to sleep, the lowly infiltrator snuck into his quarters and was able to stab him twice, seriously wounding him and removing him as Dictator
- 4th - The great Hakki, one of Tara's oldest members was elected ruler
- 9th - Hakki stepped down as ruler, which called for another Realm Wide election for the new Tyrant of Tara
- 10th - Achilles was re-elected Tyrant of Tara with 70% of the votes
- 28th - Tara was able to finally take over Jagla and is working to get the region under control
December
- Cagalin Empire, Tara and Darakan forces stormed Tarasac and were able to defeat the Drachenwald and Falasan forces.
- 9th - Cagilan Empire has begun a Brutal Take Over of Tarasac
- Tara was able to gain control of Chagasu, a former region of Falasan
2006
January
- 6th - Tara has initiated a Take Over of Nazgorn. A region in Falasan. Darka and CE forces joined in Nazgorn with a combined Combat Strength of around 35K
- 10th - Tara finally took control of Nazgorn, and the region was quickly brought up to Core
- 20th - A letter was intercepted from Aramil of Carelia planning a sneak attack and the destruction of Tara. Achilles, Dictator of Tara, immediately challanged Carelia, Redspan and Abington. Their response confirmed that a plan of attack was being planned
- 22nd - Tara reduced relations to Redspan and Carelia to Neutral
February
- 3rd - Tara declared war on Redspan
- 8th - Tara took Meldeen
- 9th - Tara declared war on Abington
- 10th - Tara signed cease fire with Falasan
- 11th - Tara gave Chagasu to Falasan
March
- 13th - Redspan took Control of Meldeen
- 21st - Large Battle fought and won in Meldeen
- 21st - Tara took (back) Meldeen
April
- 12th - Redspan took Control of Meldeen

2007
January
- 15th - It has been announced that a Tournament Ground will be constructed in Foda.
- 25th? - Jonathon, Dictator of Tara issues an ultimatum to Falasan regarding the return of former lands.
- 25th - Eston invades Falasan.
- 25th - Darka and her allies assault Redspan. Later looting every region including Stargard and Sullenport.
- 31st - Massive buildup of Tara Troops inside Falasan Realm though no combat has yet taken place nor war declared.
February
- 1st - Tara declared war on Falasan.
- 1st - Massive Monster Invasion attacks Atamara.
- 4th - The Monster Extermination Team, an elite unit created to protect the homeland while the Army fights Falasan, was destroyed by a huge undead horde in Alcatil.
- 4th - General Lister orders the withdrawal of the Army from Falasan.
- 6th - Entire Army clears Alcatil of monsters.
- 8th - Darka and Tara Troops clear Ledunds of monsters.
- 17th - Treaty signed between Falasan and Tara. Return of Aigaling, Chagasu and Jagla to Tara agreed upon.
- 20th - Alliance between Tara and Redspan declared.
- 26th - Aigaling liberated.
- 28th - Jagla liberated.
March
- 5th - Redspan declares war on Ash Sea Islands.
- 5th - Taran Troops sent north to help Eston. Will continue until May.
- 8th - The Order becomes the official religion of Tara.
- 18th - Redspan backs down against ASI.
- 24th? - Chagasu liberated.
- 30th - Jonathon steps down as Dictator. He is re-elected later.
April
- 2nd - Thor, Duke of Foda becomes insane. Destroys the Darkan Mercenary Company Guild Hall then himself before anyone could stop him.
- 15th - Carelia breaks Federation with Abington and Redspan. War is declared.
May
- 25th - A massive Abington Army was spotted in Craigmore heading into Skalk. Though delayed, the Army of Tara joined in CE's defense a few days later.
- 26th - Army of Tara units being sent to assist Eston unofficially ends.
June
- 14th - Taran Army repels Undead Horde in Ledunds and Tandsu.
- 18th - Talerium, Cagilan Empire and Tara declares war on Redspan.
- 18th - Talerium and Cagilan Empire joins Carelia in an Alliance.
- 19th - Talerium and Cagilan Empire invades Meldeen. Carelia invades Atblane.
- 19th - Talerium, Cagilan Empire and Carelia besiege Redspan's Capital, Stargard. Assault repelled.
- 20th - Stargard, Capital of Redspan is overrun by the combined armies of Talerium, CE and Carelia.
- 20th - Carelia declares war on Redspan.
- 20th - Carelia and Tara join in an Alliance.
- 23rd - Abington declares war on Carelia.
- 26th - Meldeen liberated.
- 26th - Shamus is elected Redspan's King.

- 28th - Abington conquers Tarkhog from Carelia.
July
- 6th - Large Abington Army spotted in Bolgar heading towards Ambermel.
- 7th - General Lister dispatches a small contingent to Byblack to prevent the Redspan survivors there from aiding Abington's Stargard assault. Battle was victorious.
- 7th - In accordance with Treaty, ASI hands Rogeshore to Redspan.
- 12th - Redspan takeover of Carelia's Atblane stopped.
- 12th - Refitted Allied Army from CE, Talerium and Tara defeat the small Stargard garrison. BTO started.
- 14th - Abington/Redspan counterattack raiding CE/Talerium troops in Ambermel ending in defeat for us. Later attack on Upperfell repulsed by Allies.
- 19th - Meldeen goes Rogue.
- 20th - Byblack is liberated.
- 21st - Battle of Byblack. Abington/Redspan defeats Tara/Talerium.
- 31st - Byblack Liberated.
August
- 2nd - Jonathon, Dictator of Tara, steps down. Elections pending.
- 3rd - Lister, Dictator of Tara, is elected.
- 4th - James is named General.
- 8th - Massive defeat for attacking Abington/Redspan Army in Atblane.
- 9th - Pursued and massacred survivors in Stargard.
- 15th - City of Riverholm and three adjacent regions rebel from Abington.
- 23rd - Meldeen liberated.
September
- 9th - Victory!!! Stargard, Capital of Redspan is liberated. Redspan War is over.

2008 through 2010
- Abington has fallen to inner rebellion. Caergoth and Suville are formed.
- ASI is destroyed and her regions taken by Tara, Carelia and Caergoth.
- Falasan is destroyed and her regions taken by Tara, and CE who forms Coria.
- War against Minis Ithil is successful giving land to Coria and Eston.
2011
January February - April
- Tara march north in order to aid allies, Talerium, against Estonian forces.
May
- Darka take a quick gander into Taran territory, until forcibly removed by the Taran Armies.
2012 through 2014
The Great War
Suville talks Carelia and Caergoth into forming the Southern Alliance and fighting the Cagil/Taran federation.
The Northern Alliance also attacks and Cagil, Tara, and Talerium have a long battle to win.
In the end, Carelia was defeated and most of her territory turned over to Strombran. The remaining Carelian regions were converted into an ally and became a bulkwark against Suville. Caergoth similarly became an ally against Suville.
Suville continued to expand, taking Wayburg from Carelia and Riverholm from Caergoth. Tara stepped in to ensure their survival.
Strombran became allies with Suville and sabotaged Tara's ability to support the allies.
Carelia finally fell in late 2014 with her lands being taken by Suville and Strombran.
2015
Tara and Caergoth launched a campaign to return Riverholm to Caergoth. Strombran defended Suville but could not entirely stop the campaign so Riverholm joined Strombran rather than be captured by Caergoth.

Wilhelm Pitkämiekka was elected 12/15/2003 to 01/15/2004 (killed in batle)
Urpo followed on 02/16/2004 and stepped down 03/21/2004. Jamuga was imprisoned.
Max Pitkämiekka followed on 08/08/2004 and stepped down 05/05/2005 reigned for a long time
Gil'derun was then elected
Jamuga was re-elected then stepped down
Achilles was then elected on 06/28/2005
Hakki was elected on 11/04/2005
Achilles was re-elected on 11/10/2005 after Hakki stepped down
hikari was elected on 3/12/2006 after Achilles was imprisioned in Red Span

Although exact records have not been accurately kept, the Nobles Johnathon, Lister, and Ottar have lead Tara throughout 2006-2010 or so.
Regstav was elected on 8/9/2014 after Ottar disappeared.
