Good to see this is finally taking off. --V2Blast talkII 05:22, 11 December 2007 (CET)

Oh yeah, I was quite pleased to see stuff moving again. Progress is once again at a halt though, end of session is seriously wearing me down. I'll be all done by the 21rst though, and hopefully I'll be able to regain some energy before then. I do think we got all the major lines worked out, though. -Chénier 04:33, 12 December 2007 (CET)

Rituals

Obviously there are the sacrifices, but I'll also need to flesh out others. Marriage, for one, would be an interesting thing to have enventually. However, what would seem important would be a Rite of Initiation, which would allow new characters (especially new players) to really enter the group and fraternise with everyone else, make them feel that even if they don't hold any achievements yet, they belong. Ideas for the above or others are welcome. I'll also have to add a myth about a goddess having multiple spouses to explain polyandry. -Chénier 18:57, 24 December 2007 (CET)

Another idea is type of sacrifice. A god may need to consume another god to have sustenance from a god. And by doing this the offending god has to destroy the followers of the other god to make his way to him. This may make some kind of 'evil force' within the blood cult that all the followers hate and are scared of. Vistuvis
I do plan on leaving some maneuvrability for "sects" of the faith to spring up outside the "church". Haven't really fleshed out evil gods yet, or really, haven't fleshed out many gods, other than by the creation myth, a little. Different gods will expect different forms of sacrifices, an evil god of destruction probably wouldn't demand the same rituals as a fair goddess of fertility. And while the faith and structure is there to rally everyone, the splinter and small realms are there to isolate people, to create the "similar yet different" feeling. Similar enough to defend eachother against the foreigners, yet with different patrons and practices. Also, like the romans a bit, I expect that the religion will integrate foreign gods into it's pantheon, greatly facilitating inter-god conflicts, as well as forced conversion. -Chénier 07:24, 4 January 2008 (CET)

Tattoos

Each member of the Cult should get a tattoo, showing that they serve a particular god above the others. The tattoos should be in an inconspicuous but easily uncoverable place - forearm or lower neck? That way Cult members can easily identify each other if they meet face to face. The tattoos would be hard to forge, after all. Perhaps tattoos could also be given upon the attainment of certain ranks within the Cult? --Hroppa 23:00, 3 March 2008 (CET)

Cuachitl and Possession

The Cuachitl are servants of the gods, and while they vary in power they are always fearsome creatures. While Cuachitl serve which ever god they decide (or are forced) to serve, their allegiances may change. Since the longer they serve a god the more their appearance alters to reflect that god's attributes, usually certain Cuachitl will be particularly favoured by certain gods.

The most powerful of Cuachitl are frequently revered as demigods themselves, sacrificed to in the hope that their attention will be more easy to obtain than that of the mighty gods. These fearsome beings are capable of making their presence felt in many ways upon the earth. Some may manifest themselves in the flesh, treading the earth themselves. At these times, mortals tremble. Cuachitl may also possess living humans, either taking complete control of the body or subtly influencing the victim to coincide with their designs. --Hroppa 23:00, 3 March 2008 (CET)

Some aztec gods for future adaptation regarding the undead and daimons. I'd see an undead goddess, much alike the chief deity of the Old Gods, and a Great Dragon/Great Daimon, source of the daimons, as per Summoner's interpretation of the Church of the Great Dragon.

Prophecy

Both gods and Cuachitl are fickle, and may help or hinder humans as it pleases them. Before favoured mortals, they may appear in dreams or trances, dictating prophecies, advice or commands. Those skilled in communication with the higher beings may entreat them for this kind of knowledge - however unreliable it may be. Prophecy should never be entirely trusted, for while the gods are aware of much beyond man's knowing, they seldom reveal their secrets outside their own designs.
