Military Info

Not sure how you want to format it, but we have an army which could be placed within the military section. -Chénier 04:44, 5 February 2008 (CET)

Discussion update

Ive gotten rid of a lot of the clutter that was on this talk page so the people who collaborate on making the realm page better can actually talk. If you want to see the old stuff check the history. --Fallan 05:45, 11 August 2008 (CEST)

Treaty with Morek?

I cant remember the other third detail about this treaty, if someone high up in springdale remembers, please feel free to put it there. --Fallan 05:45, 11 August 2008 (CEST)

Diplomacy Table

Lets not add realms until they leave the "colony" stage and are proper named realms and such. --Fallan 17:34, 11 August 2008 (CEST)

Do we really need this? I see this easily becoming outdated. Besides there is one that everyone on Dwilight can see. People not on Dwilight don't really need to see it anyway and they can just ask someone OOC or on IRC if they really want to know. --Vita Family 23:15, 20 August 2008 (CEST)

Culture

I'm getting jealous of Pian's culture discussion. Let's do the same. I tend to view Springdale as an English empire(not British empire, but just an empire) monarchy of sorts with a lot of power in the throne, but some available to the senate(or parliament) of lords. Any thoughts? --Vita Family 23:53, 18 August 2008 (CEST)

That seems to be pretty much how things run. The senate has a lot of influence power, as in: they make no real decisions, and things are often left in a state of "polite" disagreement, but they have the ear, more so than anyone else, of the emperor. Here soon I will write up some stuff about the senate, and all the people who have ever served on the body. That way people can understand the power of the senate, and perhaps discuss things with the senate more.
Also, lets keep throwing up ideas. Anyone that has something to contribute post your ideas here. How about the climate of the realm, and the workings of the duchy system within an empire? --Fallan 00:56, 19 August 2008 (CEST)

Climate

I think of powerful duchies that compete for power between each other, but extremely loyal to the empire and the emperor. As far as climate, I would say it depends. I see it as similar to England and France. The north and central is a bit colder, Aegir is a bit warmer island-like, and Springdale is more temperate. Humidity isn't really a problem and rain is moderate. --Vita Family 01:21, 19 August 2008 (CEST)

Just from the map I picture Springdale to be a land of rolling plains with a dash of scrub forests here and there, a very temperate climate in contrast to the hot ones to the south around Pian. And though I've never been in Springdale, I do seem to think it gives of an "imperial" vibe. So perhaps a few dotted ruins of ancient fortresses in the area? --Kag 06:33, 19 August 2008 (CEST)

Previous Kingdoms

Good idea. Maybe that can be what Nifelhold, Nifelheim, and Storms Keep can be? --Vita Family 08:13, 19 August 2008 (CEST)

Nifelhold is an obvious one, and Storm's Keep. Nifelheim itself isn't quite on the river there. Thusly getting the resources to fortify it would've been a bit more difficult. Aegir on the other hand with it's inner coastal position and sea route to the peninsula would likely be able to profit on the trade that would go through there. It could've likely afforded such fortifications. --Kag 09:03, 19 August 2008 (CEST)
Perhaps Nifelhold, Nifelheim, and Storms Keep were a former kingdom that was highly militaristic that Springdale is conquering the ruins of? Nifelhold would be their fortification for the south, Storm Keep would be a fortification and lighthouse for protection from and guidance for the sea, and Nifelheim would be the capital region. Perhaps Yggdrasil would be the fortification to the west, but Springdale does or doesn't conquer it? I see how Aegir could have had ancient fortifications, but I also see it as a primarily trading city. --Vita Family 17:30, 19 August 2008 (CEST)
Fallan and I were talking when BM was down yesterday and we had some more thoughts. Perhaps the Nifel regions(Yggdrasil, Nifelheim, Nifelhold, and Storms Keep) were a highly militaristic society, but not one that wished to expand. They built fortifications to defend themselves from other kingdoms wishing to expand into their lands though. The other kingdoms could be the city state of Springdale and the Kingdom of Muspel that held Muspelheim(capital) and Aegir(major trading port). I'm going to go ahead and start some roleplays on this. --Vita Family 16:05, 20 August 2008 (CEST)
My bad, I've been referring to Valkryjr or whatever as Yggdrasil. --Vita Family 16:22, 20 August 2008 (CEST)

Map Update

I noticed in passing that White Plains is listed as a Morek holding according to the game info, but as a Springdale holding here (which, admittedly it was). Furthermore, the map still lists it as such. Does anyone know where the RealmBox is pulling this game info from? It may need to be addressed. - Baatarsaikhan 21:42, 2 December 2008 (CET)

It is based on the political map which doesn't update as fast as the dynamic map. --Vita Family 23:30, 2 December 2008 (CET)
