Use of italics

Quote: "With this one everything that is spoken is put in speech marks everything that is an event or a description is put in Italics."

There's nothing more annoying than reading a large messages that's 70% italics. IMHO this is bad advice and, thankfully, it is not really that common. I've only seen 1 or 2 people use it. You don't need italics if you construct the message the right way and the message you send out turns into a much more pleasant reading. - LilWolf 18:47, 15 October 2006 (CEST)

I couldn't agree more! :-) --Calvin November 01:23, 16 October 2006 (CEST)
I usually go for normal tekst on events and spoken language in italics between speech marks. It distinguishes the spoken word better from the event if you sometimes have to mix them up to create an effect. Besides it can sometimes suggest a dialect of the speaker. I agree

Thats so true, I cant stand italics all over the place. Its sloppy, makes the eyes bleed and just looks really childish...also, you CAN make another charature speak, as long as its nothing "that" important or out of line. Its done often and normally done well by those I see do it.

SORRY OK?

it says to reverse the system if it's a long roleplay. - Shenron

Expand?

Anyone who wants me to drastically expand this page just say the word. At the moment I won't bother if there isn't a demand for it.

Yes! More Roleplaying Mixup help!

Definitely! It's one of the key parts of the Wiki that I come to anytime I feel creativity deprived, seeing how to do Roleplays are awesome, and adding more to it would definitely make me want to roleplay more!

I'll expand it when I get back from holiday on the 18th July. See this is a very old page and I made it when I was new to the game so expanding it will be good fun. -- Shenron 10 July 2007
It can't be stresssed enough or put in enough places: No freakin' mind readers! ;) -Chénier 04:58, 22 July 2007 (CEST)

I added a made up rp'ed letter. I love fancy sounding letters and I didn't like the given example because of it's non-medieval-European name Ryushi and its use of the term "creep." This isn't really my page so if you guys don't like the new example letter feel free to remove it.

I agree, "creep" sounded out of place, perhaps border-line vulgar (by noble standards). As for RPs, you typically have 4 kinds: Actions, Thoughts, Character Description, Environment Discription. The last two are similar, but in my head I class them apart. -Chénier 06:31, 22 July 2007 (CEST)
And by that I meant the use of the RP label. ;) -Chénier 06:33, 22 July 2007 (CEST)
