Honestly.

A religion based on drinking alcohol?

Do I have to say anything? George the Hippy 04:43, 29 January 2009 (CET)

Sounds Norse. --Aerywyn 04:50, 29 January 2009 (CET)

You know, I thought the same thing. That it sounded stupid. But then I started to think, and realized that the use of drugs to spur religious visions was quite common. I don't know of any that used alcohol in particular, but I suppose it's possible, especially if you get a particularly powerful drink that doesn't require a lot. (The priests would, of course, control the substance, as you can't have everyone experiencing divine revelation. That type of thing must be strictly controlled to prevent people from thinking they didn't need the priesthood to talk to god, after all.) But then even after I thought about, I realize that I still think it's a ridiculous idea. The religion is structured and named not to worship or follow the teachings and guidance of higher beings, but as an excuse to drink and get plastered. This religion sounds very much against SMA to me. --Indirik 16:00, 29 January 2009 (CET)
I wholeheartedly agree. This is the sort of thing that belongs with badgers and Vikings in pink tutus: far away from Dwilight. --Anaris 19:57, 29 January 2009 (CET)
What isn't an excuse to drink and get plastered? Blood of Christ anyone?--Aerywyn 00:40, 30 January 2009 (CET)
No one (sane) ever said the idea was to get drunk on communion wine. You have a sip of it. This ridiculous religion explicitly revolves around getting drunk. --Anaris 14:52, 30 January 2009 (CET)
Everyone here is applying modern standards and comparisons to an imaginary religion in a fantasy world, it doesn't even have to be a religion remeber, a cult or sect is all the same in BM.
This entire religion smacks of an inside joke where the people make references to "worshiping" and then snicker, because everyone knows that "worshiping" really means "drinking 'til you puke". I'm not saying that all religions need to make complete sense, or that they all have to be historically accurate. But on Dwilight, at least, they do need to be something more than what appears to be an immature attempt at an inside joke. --Indirik 15:19, 2 February 2009 (CET)
So your problem with it is just that it seems a way for people to make silly jokes on Dwilight? You say this even though you have no idea what the group actually does. It is easy to critise something that you don't know much about, the best real life examples are people who hate other religions or races.
Hi, I thought I should throw my two cents in here. I'm the player who founded Nomudou. First of all, no it's not a joke. It was not formed as a joke, and the faithful of Nomudou don't consider it a joke. As mentioned above, all kinds of stimulants have been used to trigger 'religious ecstasy', or however you want to call it. The history behind Nomodou, in a nutshell, is this: Samuel (the founder) had a history of drinking. Ever since his creation on SWI, he was a drinker and I RPed him constantly as such. He wouldn't be a crazy drinker, but he loved the bottle. Then he moved to Dwilight, and naturally he kept drinking. In the Palm Sea the Wizard (so named because there was only 1 person left, thanks to the monsters) provided a special drink that allowed contact with the "Spirits" of Dwilight. Samuel became enlightened and started the religion. The religion is *not* about getting drunk. It's about enjoying life. It's about using the state of inebriation to contact the spirits for advice, etc. Those who don't know the truth about it, mock it. It's perfectly SMA. Granted, it's an uphill battle to convince others, because players think it's a joke and therefore their characters think so. This is no silly joke. It's a different approach to religion. I hope this helps. --Samuel 19:28, Feb 8 2009
I'll be making some changes to the focus of Nomudou, to bring it above the "drunken crap" that some are accusing it of. Cheers. --Samuel 10:07, Feb 17 2009
