Talk:Massilion

Still claiming independence, are we? It was decided from the second Kahooli seceeded that Massillion would return to Eston, one way or another. We gave you MANY opportunities to surrender peacefully, yet you kept refusing, raising militia forces that you knew would be defeated. Massillion has not been "looted and pillaged", we merely took your gold to prevent you from sending more troops to their deaths. You claim Eston was fighting a 'long and futile battle' against the Vikings. Well here's news for you: Kahooli seceded his duchy to continue the war after King Andrew expressed his desire to end it. The loss of Massillion destroyed whatever little chance Eston had to turn the war around. Your judge is a traitor who wanted to have Christofer and Andrew assassinated so that she and Kahooli could usurp their places. Democracy at its best, no? King Andrew and Arch Priest Christofer are both elected member of the government, and you have the audacity to claim that willy and Kahooli are supporters of democracy? Furthermore, Eston could have looted Massillion to the ground from the moment we launched our first takeover, and we would have had the city by now. And I doubt that you have peaceful intentions when you call on Falasani troops to help you defend, even before there was any sign of Estonite troops near Massillion. You can whine and complain all you want, but it won't help you. Massillion belongs to Eston, Massillion will return to Eston, it's entirely up to you how that happens. If you are truly concerned with the wellbeing of your citizens, you will surrender immediately. But of course, you won't. So quit tryning to pass off as the victim here. Every dead Massillionite is a direct result of your refusal to surrender. -Marouane

Political Alliances

I'm wondering which realms, if any, supported Massillion. What were the fealings behind the split from Eston? All I know was that they were sick of the Viking Wars, but was their sympathy for or from Norland or the Barony of Makar? My current character (Lyst Knuth) is an Estonite from Massillion (the region) so I'd like to write his history with consideration of what happened in his home region when he was young. -- Luca Masters 22:41, 16 April 2007 (CEST)

  • Falasan had troops in the city of Massillion during the civil war. Supposedly they were there to 'fight monsters', an explanation believed by few. The secession happened after King Andrew had started peace talks with Norland. Shortly after the secession, Eston and the Vikings made peace, and later on signed an alliance treaty. The Vikings assisted Eston in fighting the secessionists. The first leaders of Massillion were part of what is currently known as the Old Guard, veterans who insisted on keeping the war with the Vikings going on, even though Eston was at fault. They didn't want to end the war with the Vikings, they wanted to continue it. After willy was fined over accusations of high treason, Kahooli seceded Massillion. Besides willy, only two Estonites joined the new realm, one of which was a spy for Eston. If I recall right, most realms either offered help to Eston, or chose to ignore the situation. Once Massillion was defeated, Kahooli was deported, willy sailed to Beluaterra, and others were invited to join Eston and start with a clean slate. You can read more here: http://wiki.battlemaster.org/index.php/Eston_Tribune/Special_Issue . It's an article written at the start of the secession. Pizarro 23:14, 16 April 2007 (CEST)
Falasan did indeed offer aid, but no others did. Ironically, for the last... half of Massillion's life, Kahooli and Willy weren't even members of the realm, nor were any other Old Guarders. They had fled, and Massillion was populated by nobles from foreign parts. We all loved our realm, but it was doomed. I was Duchess of Massillion for a while, you see, and I committed high treason, but was eventually forgiven. Then I became Massillion's tied for last noble, leaving simultaneous with our last Chancellor, who's name escapes me at the moment. If you desire any information on Massillion, I am the one to ask. Page Name?

Is the realm supposed to be called Massillion as opposed to Massilion? By the looks of things, someone has missed an 'l' out of the title but I just wanted to confirm. --Revan 00:29, 17 April 2007 (CEST)

I believe it is supposed to be 2 l's. It always has been hard to spell. Vellos 01:38, 17 April 2007 (CEST)
