Talk:Introduction/Elections

I don't think you're writing basics pages anymore, I think you're writing manual pages. There's no reason the Basics (elections) page couldn't be the "Election" page, and the basics (scouts) page couldn't be the "Scout" page. -- Nicholas July 26, 2005 21:22 (CEST)

I'm leaving out a lot of stuff, though, such as a real discussion of how voting works. I would rather take information out of this page and leave it as a "Basics" page than to add information and make it into the regular "Election" page. That's not to say that we can't use this as a good start on a more throgouh page, though. --Dolohov 26 July 2005 21:34 (CEST)
I suppose it's a matter of taste, but IMHO, your article is pretty long for an introduction, and if it was expanded a little bit more, it could easily be the full article. It's a wonderful page, I just think it is way too long for anyone who isn't patient. And the patient ones might as well get all of the important details. -- Nicholas July 26, 2005 21:54 (CEST)
My philosophy is that the people who are only interested in the short version will only read the roleplay. If they want a bit more information, they'll read the bit at the bottom (which is, admittedly long. So, Chief Editor, feel free to cut out the unnecessary bits!), and for complete information, they'll follow the links. --Dolohov 26 July 2005 22:01 (CEST)
Why don't you put a: "read more about elections" link at the bottom of your basics pages then. One nice easy link to the full article. I'd like to see what's one the full page before I cut anything from this page. I'll wait until we get that page done. (Actaully, I'll probably have to write some of those pages myself) -- Nicholas July 26, 2005 22:28 (CEST)

Also, what do you think of my attempt at setting the roleplay off from the rest of the page? I made it a template, so it wil be fairly easy to change. -- Nicholas July 26, 2005 22:28 (CEST)

I have no problem with it. I personally might have used blue or purple, but it seems to do the job. I have a feeling that this is something we'll change several times over the next few weeks to get it just right. --Dolohov 27 July 2005 01:15 (CEST)
