Talk:Astrum/Spectrum

Spectrum is an adaptation of the game Quis created by Catherine Asaro for the book The Last Hawk from the Skolian Empire series. It is a strategy game that uses various "dice" to create patterns. The person who completes a pattern first wins. The larger and more elaborate the pattern, the bigger the win. The rules of the game both in the book and here are intentionally vague. I have no intention of taking it to the levels Catherine Asaro does in her books (which seemed a bit absurd to me.) This adaptation of it is intended to be an idle strategy game for the nobility. --Indirik 19:22, 5 August 2008 (CEST)

I have posted a first draft of the rules. As I stated above, the rules are intentionally vague. This is not intended to be a real game that we could sit down and play according to a strict set of rules. It is more of an RP tool that players can use, and to add a bit of flavor to things. If you have read the books, feel free to help flesh out some of the descriptions. And even if you haven't read them, but just like the concept, feel free to add to it. Or leave comments and question here. --Indirik 23:20, 5 August 2008 (CEST)

Quite interesting, should bring a bit of flavor to the realms. I would like to see it used in the context of RP, if you can somehow facilitate that I would be obliged. --Fallan 23:34, 5 August 2008 (CEST)
