Talk:Astro-Caerwynian War

Surely it should be called the "Astro-Averoth war" or the "Astro-Averoth/Caerwyn war", Averoth was the first realm to fight the war, and the most active participant, and Caerwyn only acted in support of Averoth. Though to be completely accurate the Averoth/Caerwyn alliance should be called the League Of Free Nations as opposed to referring to them singularly. Oh, and as a final note the Entei secession had nothing to do with Caerwyn's war declaration as far as I know, Caerwyn where prompted by Averoth and Madina over a period of weeks, the secession is just a happy coincidence.

Oh, and the timeline should also include the founding of the League Of Free Nations, as that is entirely what the war is about. RestonVanim 01:54, 19 April 2011 (CEST)

I would highly dispute most of that. First, the war is not about the "League of Free Nations". I have no doubt that this political grouping reinforced the confidence of the League members, and allowed them to group together for support. But the League, and its founding, is nowhere near the focus of the war. Second, the Entai secession is what prompted Caerwyn to declare war at that particular moment. While it may not have been what everyone was waiting for, it was definitely the triggering event. "Hit them now, while they're distracted" or something like that. I forget the exact words used. Yes, the Averoth/Thulsoma prompting set the stage for the battle, but the secession, and the accompanying messages from Allison, was the trigger that started the actual war. Third, the timeline should only refer to actual in-game realms, and not alliances. --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 18:03, 19 April 2011 (CEST)
Dispute it if you will, but the ENITRE war is about the League Of Free Nations. The League was formed before the Entei secession, and before the secession of Aegir. Caerwyn declared war, under the prompting of Averoth and Madina, and also Thulsoma, it was done also, as a means for Madina to be able to declare war on Astrum. Entei had absolutely nothing to do with it, the League and war was planned before we knew anything about Entei, and the declaration of war came after Madina and Caerwyn agreed upon the League of Free Nations. Also, it would be a mistake to refer to the realms individually, instead of the League of Free Nations, the League is the reason why there is war, and encompasses all of one side in the war.
Again I feel I must stress this, the League was not created to "support the war", it was created and then war was agreed upon, the war is entirely about the League of Free Nations, the League is not entirely about war, conversely. RestonVanim 20:15, 19 April 2011 (CEST)
So, if you have another perspective, make another page. That's what a Wiki is all about. --Anaris 21:33, 19 April 2011 (CEST)
I'm not disputing the formation of the League, the order of events, or the composition of the League, etc. I'll gladly concede all that stuff to you, as your first-hand involved with it would be better than my second-hand knowlege. What I will dispute, though, is that anyone outside the League cares about the fact that there is an entity known as the League. Or that just about anyone outside the League has even heard of the League. This war didn't start because the League formed, or because Astrum/Morek/Sanguis Astroism want to destroy the League. To say that the war is entirely about the League is more than a bit misleading. --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 22:59, 19 April 2011 (CEST)
Perhaps the article could be moved to a realm or religion specific area so that it is obvious that it is a in game document written with the bias of the character? As it was not a sub page of some in game organisation I had assumed it was a OOC attempt to maintain an accurate and objective time line to the war. --Masdus 01:30, 20 April 2011 (CEST)
