OK, so this will be an explanation for the different forms of Governments exhibited in the Finngar Region.

Kingdom of Setras - Monarchy

The Kingdom of Setras is by large, your basic Monarchy system. Where people are expected to swear an oath of fealty to each other. So shall we start with the City of Setras... the capitol city has been lead by a member of the Sunriel family. It is mentioned that the current ruler, King Finnegan Sunriel IV, stepped down from his position as Duke of Setras because of old age. And unlike in most realms were people vote and such on who would next be Duke. It instead went straight to the oldest son of the King, meaning the new Duke is Uzziah Sunriel. This would also mean that Uzziah is next to be King of the Kingdom of Setras. The only one who could dispute this matter would be Finnegan Sunriel V, if he though himself better then his brother. This would most likely be achieved through the use of the Rebellion function. And the nobles would then choose which side. Or possible secede there Duchy and form another realm. Burgundia on the otherhand is ruled by Duchess Alexandria Sunriel, and would most likely end up roleplaying her marriage to some other noble family. And effectively making that family the next royal family should the three Sunriel males die. Tristam, the third city that makes up the Kingdom of Setras is ruled over by the Moonguard family. And would go to anyone of that family should the Duke die. Should no members of the Moonguard family exist. There is two possible outcomes, first the Sunriel claim the city as there Royal birthright. Or the second option, all the lesser region lords in the Duchy of Tristam start fighting each other over it. The winner probably being who ever can purchase the region first.

Tax Distribution
Ruler - 5, General - 1, Banker - 3, Rank - 5, Prestige - 5, Hero - 1, Cavalier - 1
Taxes are basicly based on your station in life. Being the King itself entitles you to a large share of gold. The Bankers share is basicly for realm maintenance. The General would also get a small share, for as General he would be expected to fight. The Kingdom of Setras also puts forward a high regard for the likes of Heroes and Cavaliers. Those who are famous with a higher Prestige would gain more gold. And there is also a portion for Rank, as people are expected to choose a liege.

OK so basicly the Kingdom of Setras is just a whole bunch of confusion.

Halewood Protectorate - Republic

So far this is my favourite choice of government used in the Finngar Region. Region Lords are not voted into office as seems to be the case with other Republic realms in the game. But instead we use a different approach. Because the Halewood Protectorate is what we would call a Merchant Kingdom. It is quite possible that character would have large amounts of gold just sitting around doing nothing. And because of this I have chosen that regions not be appointed by either the Duke or Ruler. But instead that regions must be purchased using in-game means. This also helps with who we end up having voted to the council as both Ruler and Judge. If your little realm faction could purchase most of the land titles, you end up with bonus votes come election time. And whoever gets to be the Duke would in essence decide who was ruler. Thanks to the amount of voting points he recieves. This also opens up another interesting aspect to such a realm. In that Infiltrators is such a realm could end up making or breaking you. As anyone who could pay such a person could hope to see openings as regional lords are attacked. And there regions become vacant for whoever has the gold.

Tax Distribution
Ruler - 2, General - 1, Judge - 1, Banker - 1, Traders - 5
Those in a council are afforded a extra slice of the cake, as compensation for having to work so hard. As for the other portion, Halewood is a Merchant Kingdom, and as such being a Trader affords you a large portion of gold.

Mesne Roc - Tyranny

The council positions of General, Judge and Banker are either taken up by the Ruler, or whoever he appoints upon accension to the throne. If one of these positions is already taken the only way to get it is by challenging the current one to a duel and winning. If by chance the person is wounded, and not during a duel, it would be left open until they heal. The Ruler position is gained a different way, in that you must rebel and dispose of the current Ruler. If the Ruler is wounded, the position is kept open and then he is reappointed. Or someone rebels and takes over.
