Stromhar Family/Umerith

From BattleMaster Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Umerith II is the Eldest Son of Umerith I, first Lord of Strom and Founder of House Stromhar. He is older brother to Valian Stromhar and Stanmore Stromhar respectively.

Umerith comes from minor nobility, though threw all of his youthful endeavours into his education. At a young age, whilst Valian and Stromhar were squired to Senior Knights, Umerith instead attended Universities, Colleges and Archives to develop his skills in reading, writing, and stewardship instead of the sword.

Appearance

Umerith II is a tall, lithe and cunning looking man. High cheek bones, a confident (or arrogant) smirk always etched on his lips. He holds himself with high regard and even higher decorum, chin always raised and hands linked behind his back, gliding from spot to spot instead of walking. He has an incredibly refined accent, and almost every move he takes seems careful and considered.

His hair is short, swept back over his skull for convenience, and is tinted with the familial blonde hair that the Stromhar's are known for. Although naturally wavy like his younger brothers, Umerith's hair has been slicked back with oil and straightened, and his face is clean shaven. He takes great pride in his regal appearance.

When not performing his official duties, Umerith II is often dressed in incredibly expensive and detailed embroidered robes and clothing, and seems to live an extravagant lifestyle.

Personality

Those that know him describe Umerith as an incredibly cautious, cunning and machiavellian man, and yet also describe him as polite and well mannered. Troops that served him in the past depict him as cold and calculative commander but that he got results, courtiers within his regions describe a shrewd and hard-working steward who rarely ever rested, and those within his inner circle describe a patient and ambitious statesman.

In any instance, Umerith can sometimes seem to embody the height of arrogance in one moment, and the epitome of a well worded and well rounded diplomat in the other. Those who call him friend talk of a charismatic womaniser and his rivals describe a decadent albeit dangerous upstart with delusions of grandeur.

Personal Life

Very little is known about Umerith's personal life, currently. There are rumours that he has fathered a few bastards with various courtiers, prostitutes and socialites from Madina and Tol Goldora, but these are neither confirmed nor denied by those closest to him.

Kingdom of Madina

Umerith II inherited the minor village of Strom from his Father, Umerith II, ascending to Higher Nobility aged 17. Madina, as it had been for years, had been under assault by the Monster Hordes for as long as History could remember, and so Umerith was appointed to command an Infantry unit and aid in the defence of Madinan borders.

His career in Madina never really took off, though he was made Lord of Bol and Lugagun on two different occasions - whilst these added to his honour and glory, ascending the Stromhar family to that of Higher Nobility - Umerith was far more ambitious, and these regions were often lost and gained repeatedly in the eternal battle against the Monster Hordes.

Umerith tried and failed several times to get elected as both General and/or Judge of Madina, but never managed to break through the older family names of power in Madina.

Then, in Year 44, Umerith Stromhar received a missive from another aspiring Noble far across the sea, looking for other Lords to help in an expedition to Western Dwilight. Gathering his men, and loading both his personal retinue and his court onto several ships, Umerith surrendered his claim to Madina lands (including his ancestral home and the village of Strom), and set sail to the Kingdom of Sol to begin preparations for the expedition.

Republic of Sol

Landing at the Port of Tamirak Year 45, Umerith was recruited by Lord Medrawt Camlann, who in turn was being hosted by Imperatrix Perdita Esotericus of Sol, and assigned to the expeditionary force known as the Golden Host. The Golden's Host had been preparing for months to sail West from the Solian Shores and claim a new land in the Western lands now that the Monster Horde menace was waning - and so, put in charge of administrating the ships and supplies due to his education as a trader and sailor, Umerith found new ambition and purpose with the Host.

Year 46, The Golden Host led by Marshal Medrawt Camlann, sailed across the Dwilight Sea and wrestled control of Golden Farrow from the Monster Hordes. Not long thereafter, and with the blessing of Imperatrix Perdita, Golden Farrow seceded from Sol and formed a new Nation.

Kingdom of Tol Goldora

As one of the original members of the Golden Host, when Tol Goldora was founded, Umerith II Stromhar was named a Founding Member of the Nation and assigned as the first Judge, or Vestarch, of the burgeoning Nation. No longer a Minor Noble of the Village of Strom, Umerith threw himself into his work with great ambition and determination, hoping to forge his name in the new nation.
