Stanmore is the youngest son of Umerith I Stromhar of Strom, Madina, Dwilight. Whilst his older brothers had their own paths and inherited most of the Stromhar Family's meagre fortune, Stanmore decided to emigrate to the East Continents to try and make a name for himself on his own.

Coming from an Naval Antique-Merchant Family, Stanmore was raised with extensive knowledge on Documentation, Reading, Writing and forgeries. As such, in the world of Politics, this training at being able to spoke fakes has proven very helpful in the long run.

Appearance

Stanmore is described as being tall, broad and handsome, if a little rugged. He'd appear taller if he didn't slouch ever-so slightly, but he is generally considered to have an impressively strong-looking frame with an imposing height.

Square jawed with a trimmed beard, and a brilliant blonde head of medium length blonde hair combined with his paler skin tone one might see him as a physical stereotype of a North-man - however, the amber eyes, merchant-esque fineries and refined, southerly drawl might betray him as a Madinan native from a bigger Trading Port/Town.

He has a noteworthy scar that rises from the right of his upper lip, up to his mid-right cheek area. He received this during the war between Perleone, Alara and Minas Nova as a Commander of Infantry.

Personality

Often considered surly or cold on first appearances, Stanmore is actually a very calm, calculated and stoic individual, slow to trust others but forms friendships easily enough. He rarely shows much more emotion than is necessary, but this does not mean he is never seen smiling. He rarely speaks anything other than what he feels is the truth, and avoids complicated political statements where possible, but has shown to have a knack for it that rivals his older brother Umerith II, whom is generally considered a more accomplished statesman.

In battle, Stanmore has shown to be honourable, strategic and brave. His exploits in the war with Alara during year 1018 saw him recognised as a Hero by not only the commoners but his peers, as he was always willing to fight beside his men and in the thick of battle. Rarely was Stanmore shown to retreat where victory was possible, but equally rarely did he lead his men into a bloodbath if he could avoid it.

Personal Life

Stanmore is the youngest son of three born to Umerith I Stromhar.

In the year 1018, Stanmore converted from Trinitism to that of the Church of the Blood God after seeing the event that plagued the South of the Eastern Continents for several months. Since then, Stanmore has been a dedicated Blood Knight in the service of the Church, though has been shown to be open and welcoming to those of other Religions.

In the year 1019, shortly prior to his election as Ruler of Perleone, Stanmore was betrothed to Mary Anne de la Fere Bluelake, Duchess of Al Arab and Cousin to the previous King of Perleone, King Niall de la Fere.

He is generally considered to be one of the first recorded Kings in known history to have fought in a Tournament, namely the Tournament of Ibladesh in the year 1019, and more impressively came second overall.

Stanmore recently discovered a dalliance with Aria Attano after the Tournament of Ibladesh, encouraged by his Fiance Mary de la Fere, had resulted in twin bastards, known respectively as Cato and Lucilia - Cato is described as having Stanmore's eyes and Lucilia his hair. Whilst not acknowledged as members of House Stromhar, they have been accepted into House Attano and are recognised bastards.

Perleone

Stanmore's first port-of-call after leaving the Coastal Kingdom of Madina was Perleone, as word had reached him that King Niall de la Fere was looking for new and ambitious Nobles to take up estates and fight for their cause. Stanmore always had an affinity and ability in all matters martial, and so took the first boat to the Kingdom of Lions.

Stanmore as a capable commander in the War of Deklan's Folly, going on to secure several key battles alongside his fellow peers for Perleone that begun to turn the tide of the war. It was during this war that Stanmore would make several important friendships such as Ser Jason Greyson, Ser Callan Blue, Ser Gaheris Camlann and even his future betrothed, Mary Anne Bluelake - all of which would prove helpful later in his burgeoning career.

Military, Political and Religious Leader

Stanmore's penchant for hard hitting, honest speeches and his honour/skill in battle began to see him as a respected Military Leader and Politician in the Democracy of Perleone. Despite these abilities, Stanmore was reserved by choice, deciding to live comfortably between battles in his meagre estate in Al Arab and answer the call to war when he was needed.

His first step into Perleonic politics was his bid to become Protector (General), but his good friend Callan Blue also ran for the position. Although Stanmore received a handful of votes, Callan had been significantly more active in Perleone, previously as a Marshal, and so won the vote rather handily. Regardless, Stanmore was brought into the newly arranged Military Council, only giving his input except where he felt it was needed.

His second step was to run for the position of Prime Minister. However, once again, he was beaten in the elections rather handily by the much more pro-active and more beloved Mary Anne Bluelake. A close friendship began to form between the Prime Minister and Lord Stanmore, and soon he was elected to his first official position as Representative (Lord) of Zamor.

Representative Stanmore would continued to partake in several very important battles and skirmishes for Perleone, partaking in the Siege of Ibladesh, the battles for Alaran core regions and the flanking/wounding of Eros Harte, later Ruler of the reformed Alara - where the Kingdom of Perleone had previously been losing, it was thanks to the efforts of Perleone's commanders like Stanmore that both Minas Nova and Alara were broken and driven to complete defeat.

It was during the end stages of the war with Alara and Minas Nova that, with Jason Greyson as the primary founder, Stanmore aided in the creation of the Church of the Blood God after the horrific event that was the Bleeding of the Land and Sky. Stanmore was a pragmatic man and had previously been a Trinitist, but had never been truly convinced due to a lack of real evidence. It was during this period that a warm affection had begun to develop between Mary Anne and Stanmore.

King in the South

As the war with Alara and Minas Nova began to draw to a conclusive end, King Niall de la Fere was grievously wounded and forced to step down from his position as King. A rather aggressive (and confusing) election campaign took place between the popular and favourite-to-win, King Niall, and his long-time political rival (and Royal) Duke Conrad Barrett of Al Arab. Although King Niall won the election handily, the political insults between the feuding Royals continued well into Niall's second term as King - when a referendum Niall put forward for the vote to the realm, regarding diplomatic vassalisation of Alara failed in favour of a more aggressive, crueler referendum, King Niall stepped down as King a second time as he did not believe himself to be the person to deliver what he perceived to be a crueler national identity.

A new election for ruler started, and Stanmore decided to throw his hat into the ring - he no longer felt that Perleone had been the noble and honourable realm that he had joined, and he perceived the other two front runner candidates (Jason Greyson and Conrad Barrett) as unfit to change this - the election process begun and once more King Niall and Duke Conrad traded political insults with each other, however this time it resulted in a duel to the death which took Conrad's life and Niall's health.

Now running against his friend Jason Greyson, Stan considered Jason to be abusing his position as Everchosen of the Blood Church to protect his own pride, as well as being hard to communicate with, difficult to work beside and possessing a penchant for recklessness, all of which Stan considered undesirable traits for Kinghood - Stanmore received unprecedented support to become the next King of Perleone, and even secured a political (and personal) betrothal to Mary Anne, now Duchess of Al Arab in Conrad Barrett's place.

As the election results drew to a close, Jason withdrew his candidacy over a disagreement over ownership of Semall, and Stanmore won the election overwhelmingly, with 70 votes in his favor, 25 votes cast for the remaining late-comer candidate Leuthric, and 80 votes uncast.
