The History of Southasland

SHas.png"
April 2005

2005-04-02
Some suicidal Ash Sea Islander decided to have his few men slaughtered on the walls of Tucha. If the rest of the enemies are as cleaver it would be an easy war to win!

2005-04-03
Guards in Tucha managed to arrest an enemy infiltrator when attacked the militia during the night. He was identified as Mordoc from Minas Ithil and handed over to the mercy of the executor.

2005-04-04
The day saw the fall of two Southasland nobles as Bruno Steele was arrested by the inquisition. And faramir lebeau betrayed the realm and deserted to Ash Sea Islands. He has been declared banned and shall only return to face the executer.

2005-04-07
The rumours had been telling the truth: Massive troops has come from the north to the border of Southasland. More than 2000 men gathered in Cori allegedly to attack Tucha. The comming days were to show the future existence of Southasland.

2005-04-08
The forces in Cori was estimated to be of 37000 CS. A truely frighting sight for the inhabitance of Tucha. The streets was empty as many have barricaded themselves in their houses.

Late in the day Tucha was captured by a massive force from Abington, Falasan, Minas Ithil and Norland twice the force of the defenders. The experienced generals and old veterans estimated the the battle to be between forces of 27000 and 14000 CS. During the battle the Duke of Tucha, Evingar, was seriously wounded. The Dictator himself to over the command of Tucha. The tales of the battle can be found here.

2005-04-09
During the aftermath battles in Tucha the Southasland Banker was captued by the enemy. But shortly after he was seen in Tucha:

He laughs as he strides towards Tucha

So that simply had to be the shortest prison term in history! I only got through one jolly round of "nobody knows" (a favorite from my brother Gregonus when he frequented Tucha's dungeons), when I noticed a small passage with a neon sign that said "Hero's, please escape through here!" Well, at least that's what I thought it looked like. So in any event I'm on my way back to Tucha and should be ther in a turn or so.

Starts whistling as he continues to stride

Behind him the latest Citizen Defense Force could be seen marching to the walls of Tucha. The Dictator, Edvard the Deacon, managed to raise two groups of 315 men each amoung the citizens of Tucha.

Despite the former Bankers quick return the Dictator appointed Teram II as new Banker of the realm.

The day also saw Minas Ithil declare war on Southasland. As they took part in the attack it was no supprice and the Dictator replied by raising the puplic against Minas Ithil.

2005-04-10
Again on this day the fighting contiued and the Dictator had success in forming to bands of 314 citizens each for the defence.

2005-04-11
Possibly due to a new war between Falasan has declared war on Talerium the enemy forces in Tucha begone to pull out towards the north.

At the same time yet another Citizen Defense Force of 314 volunteers was formed by the dictator.

After heavy looting by the occupation forces in Tucha during the afternoon and evening, the rumour on the street says that forces from Tara and Cagilan Empire is finally comming to free the people of Tucha from the siege. Later it resulted in 314 volunteers forming yet another Citizen Defense Force.

2005-04-12
Though it was the Holiday of Joy today in Tucha only the forces from Norland was celebrated as they raided the streets. But apparantly the rumous held some truth as news reached Tucha of a newly signed alliance between Cagilan Empire and Southasland.

In the evening 1166 men from Cagilan Empire, Tara and even Darka arrived in Tucha to chase the last few remaining northern troops away and the people of Tucha could finally celebrate the Holiday of Joy with with liberating forces.

2005-04-14
After the joyfull liberation the hard rebuilding have becone. As most of the foreign troops quickly left Tucha again the people are left on their own with the few stressed nobles of Southasland.

2005-04-15
The powerfull Dictator of Southasland was seriously wounded in an assassination attempt. Even though an investigation was launched immediately, it appears that the assassin has vanished without a trace. Therefore Southasland was now left with out ruler and Tucha without it's Duke. Soon the ambitious Southaslanders started to fight openly to gain the power. Apparently the ruling council did not have the situation under control.

2005-04-16
While a combined raiding and scouting mission was send to Cori the officials counted the incomming votes and announced the following result:

14 voters cast a total of 50 valid votes
Candidate Votes Percentage
Envirgar 11 22 %
Teram II 11 22 %
Jarek 10 20 %
Is Est 5 10 %
Infidel 4 8 %
Gregonus 3 6 %
Jonathon 3 6 %
Fred 2 4 %
Stimok 1 2 %

Possibly due to his family influence and hold on the power Envirgar was appoited as new Dictator.

Later reports from Cori told of a second wave of troops from the north.

2005-04-17
To celebrate his new election as Dictator, Envirgar appointed himself as the new Duke of Tucha.

As the General of Southasland was to slow to return from the front he was ambushed and captured by Minas Ithil forces in Cori. As new General his brother, Marga was appointed.
