ALARIC'S SONG OF ORIGINS

Between the hills and ashen sea, our heroes tale begins for scorned was he by family, and outcast for their sins

His Father's name was Ulli, a stout warrior tall, for his kin he fought truly but for alaric he cared not at all.

One darken night, he came to him and spoke in a harsh voice my boy, your existence is a sin so i leave you with a choice

Stay here as a peasant man and love your mother true or go forth from abington and sail the oceans blue

with a look of scorn in his eyes alaric did reply "my father, I'd inherit when you die I know that to take my life you'd try

But the sea does call whatever you may say i too shall be a warrior tall and return with glory one day

so with a heavy heart our hero to his mother bid goodbye with no love from his father he did depart and then to the Colonies he did fly

a score of years now have passed, our hero now has grown to the land of lukon he did turn last when debts to pirates he did own

But in its hot yet homely lands a Cause and life did he find for war and work required his hands and the Word did enter his mind

So now our hero is a Hero true, and his seaons turn to fall, for when he must pass seas of blue he will be the bold warrior tall and reclaim his father's hall.

The Song tells of how at the age of 15, as he neared his age of Majority, his Father Lord Ulli Von Katzing came to the hut where he lived with his peasent mother- who Ulli Von Katzing had "tumbled" one harvest night- to confront his son over potential issues of inheritance. Alaric was Ulli's bastard son, and as such should and could not claim the right to the name of Von Katzing. However, Alaric was the eldest of Ulli's children, and he did not want to be a peasent farmer, and claimed the title and name anyway. He then fled across the Seas, only for his ship to be attacked by Pirates, where Alaric joined them, and spent ten years learning the trade, ocassionally hiring himself out as a mercenary. Eventually, he came to the Colonies, hearing of the opportunities there, and signed up as a permanent Knight.
