Historical Issue

Unfortunately, the Sanguine Times has seen much reduced activity in the last year. New editors are dearly needed, and any who wishes to try his hand is welcome to contact the current editors to offer their help.

Nevertheless, the editors take their recording duties seriously. This issue is meant to safekeep historical knowledge, in the hopes that both heroic actions and mistakes made will never be forgotten. Articles are placed in roughly chronological order.

War between Xinhai and Aquilegia

Duke Vesuvis Adddridae of Flowrestown has been expelled from Aquilegia and has takern refuge in Xinhai. Soon after, war was declared, with the stated goal of Xinhai being to restore Duke Vesuvis to his throne. However, helped by heathens and their isolation, Aquilegia has managed to survive mostly unscathed up to now.

End of Morek

After the foundation of Xinhai, the Libero Empire also split from Morek. The Libero Empire is a secular realm, which for most of his history has been ruled by heatens, but welcoming to the Stars and home to many faithful.

Only Nifelhold remained that called itself Morek, and eventually heathens took control of the city too.

Raivan War, and the remapping of the Northeast

The Raivan Empire, the Libero Empire and Aquilegia allied themselves against Xinhai and attacked it from all sides. The history of that war has been written in the document "Astromancy at War". With the help of their allies Astrum, Xinhai could repel the assault. Soon, a peace treaty was signed between Xinahi and Libero, and Aquilegia due to their isolation could do no more than to temporarily take Ashrak.

Afterwards, Xinhai destroyed the Raivan Empire and took their lands, while the Libero Empire took Nifelhold for themselves, thus ending Morek. Peace between Xinhai and Libero holds since, while Xinhai and Aquilegia are still technically at war even though few battles are occuring.

End of Niselur

During that time, Niselur fell to repeated assault from Monsters and undeads. Its nobles took refuge in Astrum, where they hope to refund their realm in the northwest.

Trek in the North

Many nobles from Thulsoma and Averoth, including former King Glaumring of Thulsoma, have joined Summerdale.

Reform

After protests against the slowness of the church, many have been clamoring for reform, and their voices have been heard. The Holy Prophet has retreated once again into meditative retreat, naming Duke Brance Indirik as Regent of the Faith, and responsible for reform. The church hierarchy has been overhauled, with all three Light positions being filled for the first time since the founding of the Church, the rules concerning the nominations of Luminaries being overhauled as well as the new position of consul being created.

Aurora

In secular news, two well-known faithful have exchanged claims. Sir Bustoarsenzio Peristaltico has relinquished his claim on Unterstrom, given to him by the late Grandmaster Deverka Cryfdwr, to Sir Hericus Lefanis in exchange for his claim on Muspel, held from Virovenian days. Sir Hericus soon enough led a colony expedition and established the theocracy of Aurora in Unterstrom.

Thulsoma

The realm of Thulsoma has given up its theocratic status and is under the control of heathen Haruka Vanimedle. It is rumored some there plan to recreate the Order of the Seven, a dead faith that was friendly to our faith, and considered not incompatible with our creed. Whether this will still be true in its new incarnation remains to be seen.

Daimons

Rumors are that a noble has been spotted near Paisley leading a unit of undeads. The western realms are rightly worried. Little information has reached the ears of the eastern editors about this event, and any first-hand account would be appreciated.

At the same time, a expedition lead by Luminary Labell is in the Zuma's land, trying to establish contact.

Scriptural Writing of the Week

But to those of us coming from the East, with our greater minds, our superior wisdom, our vastly better developed understanding of logic and complex reasoning, to us perhaps the Auspicious Star is a more closely melded companion.

-Mathurin Hossenfeffer, Holy Prophet
