The Daimon Wars

May 1007 until the present

This is to my knowledge the only account of the darkness that did start to engulf Beluaterra during summer 1007. During these dark times many a great deed - and evil treachery - was done, yet few survived to tell the tales of the fallen. Thus much that should have been sung about is now forgotten, engulfed by death and darkness. Therefore I write down this history in the hope that part of it may not be forgotten - I do not know yet whether these pages will be trampled into the mud of a forgotten battlefield by horned hooves - or if they may find their place in the peaceful library to be studied by our sons.

The End of the Great War (May 1007)

After nearly a full year of bitter warfare, the Great War was nearing its end: Luz was beaten, with Enweil being both unable and unwilling to assist Luz de Bia as Enweil was under pressure from our allies Fronen and Avalon. Still, Luz was unwilling to consider any ceasefire. Riombara and Alluran pressed on - we stormed Luz' capital Jidington and threatened to take Eylmon, their only other city. This resulted in Dead Angel, the Duke of Eylmon seceding as he knew the war was lost. From that point on, Riombara concentrated on besieging the rebel city of Irombro while Alluran continued to push Luz back.

The Undead Menace (June 1007)

During June 1007 disturbing news were brought to Riombara - what once were mindless undead now formed into larger armies...and suddenly even undead leaders marched forth and demanded that any human armies vacate their path. Riombara politely declined and met the undead mistress in the fields of Ardmore - during a fierce, daylong battle the undead were shattered and their leader fell, her body to be burned and her skull to adorn the newest marker of our fallen in that region. As we found later, two portals had opened in the south allowing undead armies from the Abyss to reach Beluaterra - and the gods in their savage humor had decreed for one of these to be within our realm: in Mio Dupaki. The largest armies ever to march on Beluaterra should later meet there... The second undead gate was to be found along the southern coast of Enweil, near Ete City.

Monsters roam the North

As Alluran and Riombara disengaged from their enemies to fight this new menace, our allies reported that hairy beasts had appeared in the north. Similar to the undead they seemed to be a lot more organized then the usual monster groups - and they demanded alliance as well.
