Current News New Times, New King...Erm...Old King 28th April 2007 Yesterday, the nobles of Redspan went to the voting stations to elect a new king after King Dielo stepped down. The two main candidates were AJ and Tony. When the votes were counted Tony had won with 40.6% of the votes and with AJ coming second with 37.9 %. All of 19 votes difference. With the re-election out of the way, Tony got down to pressing matters that had to be dealt with. More updates when they are available. --Scribe of Da King War On The Horizon? 25th April 2007 Is there war on the horizon? Redspan has not chosen a side yet in this great conflict that has engulfed Atamara, yet there are many enemies that she could potentially have. Darka is being their usual bullying self, Mossimo traveled up to Darka, Mount Sinclair to be precise, and preached in memory of his brother, Fade. Now Darka want us to pay them 300 gold in compensation. Now, is it me or are Darka's actions coming back to haunt them? If they had not executed Fade, his brother would not have a grudge against the realm, so would not need to go and preach in the place of his brothers death. So having a bit of lateral thinking here, shouldn't Darka punish Lavigna, who executed Fade, because she started the ball of revenge rolling? We here in Redspan are again on the receiving end of the threats of Darka, because of an action that they have brought on themselves. The mighty warrior ventured forth on every occasion to battle, to scout prior to battle and to prepare for battle. His hatred of his own family, in Darka led to his flight to Norland, where he became a respected leader and warrior. Today, he fell in a victorious battle in Winwich. Details are sketchy, but one must assume that a man who feared dishonor more than death must have died at the head of his troops in a glorious counter-attack. Carelia Declares War! 15th April 2007 Today in a new twist to the face of politics of the Atamaran continent, Carelia has broken away from the Southern Federation, and in doing so has declared war on both Abington and Redspan. Whether this is meant to be a peaceful separation and the war is only a temporary thing until stable relations are reinstated, or a permanent stance of aggression against her former allies, no one knows. We have not heard anything from King Dielo regarding the situations, most scribes, when asked, just say he is gathering all the information to be able to paint an accurate picture for the rest of the realm. Hopefully, this whole situation will be settled in a very peaceful way. Also in regards to the change of politics of Carelia, they have formed an alliance with Minas Ithil, and, in doing so, joined the Eastern Alliance. With this action, it looks like they will be fighting their old ally Abington, as Abington have just came back from a successful campaign inside MI territory. Some see that as pay back from the "Anti-Abington" campaign less than a year ago. There is only one realm that has not chosen a side in this great war, Redspan. April 6, 2007 Aldred, the captain of Duke Shamus' guard, reported today that a large ammount of Sullenport Stout had been stolen from the Duke's personal storeroom at his residence in Sullenport. Investigations are currently underway, with many promising tips so far. The Duke has offered 50 gold for the capture of the thief. -by Shamus oshea 19:09, 6 April 2007 (CEST) Peace with Ash Sea Islands April 2, 2007 ~ Dielo Today, Kings Dielo and Malice of Redspan and Ash Sea Islands, respectively, signed into effect the Treaty of Rogeshore. In the treaty, both realms are expected to be nice to each other. Furthermore, the region of Rogeshore will be bought by Redspan in three month's time for a sizeable sum of money. Dielo's Comments None Yet Dabug's Comments While I have no love for Darka, the recent roving of priests of Da Way struck me as deliberately provocative and was a violation of direct orders from our leaders. It saddens me that two so close to Da One could endanger his people thus.
