Battles Rage in RedSpan
Forces from Tara, Darka, Cagilan Empire and Ash Sea Islands, totaling about 12,000 CS attacked Stargard from Meldeen at dawn on the 21st. They were stopped at the recently modified walls by 54,000 CS of defending forces from RedSpan, Carelia, and Abington. Despite sixteen siege engines in place, the attacking forces did not manange to breach the walls. Nine casualties were taken among troopleaders, only one of which was from the Southern Alliance (Ornor of RedSpan). Hunting parties swept through the city until nightfall, eliminating survivors.

The next morning, defending forces became the aggressors, launching a counter-attack on Meldeen so large that it overshadowed the battle of Atblane I by 15,000 CS. 42,000 CS from Abington, Carelia, and RedSpan met on the fields of Meldeen with 48,000CS of defending forces from Darka, Tara and Cagilan Empire. 252 Troopleaders were present, 84 of whom were wounded, captured or killed in the fighting. This 90,000CS battle is the largest that the world has ever seen, and ended in defeat for the Southern Alliance. Tara claimed control of the region soon after.

This defeat was shortly followed by the battle of Atblane II. Tara, Darka, and Cagilan Empire moved to take Atblane following their successful seisure of Meldeen. The Southern Alliance moved to disrupt the second takeover, however, due to confusion in Stargard, the attacking force was not as large as intended, and Carelia, RedSpan and Abington were defeated in this 50,000CS battle. Again, many troop leaders on both sides were wounded or captured.

Recent Promotions
First of all, I’d like to humbly welcome the forces from Abington into RedSpan. Now that that business is taken care of, we’ve gotten many new promotions within the ranks of RedSpaniards. Our ex-general and oldest RedSpaniard, AJ, is now our new Duke of Stargard, with Tony Malone leaving him the position while needing to take care of military matters. But lately, the prize for new positions goes to Leonard Enstance. He has not only recently been promoted to Marshall of the Army of Sullenport, but also as Count of Lurgrod. Congratulations to both!

Interview with Tony Malone, High Marshal of Redspan and Marshal of the Army of Stargard
This interview was taken by a RedSpan Revealer reporter between the battles of Meldeen and Atblane.

RR: We have just fought two large battles, and have a third comming. What significance does this have for RedSpan and the war with Tara / Darka / Cagilan Empire? Tony: It tells them that we are willing to take on forces against the odds, to protect our lands. Even if that means a defeat. The people of Redspan are willing to sacrifice themselves for the Realm.

RR: Is RedSpan going to be able to keep up with the high rate of large battles that we've had?Tony: Yes, i feel that we are. With the battles next to our capitol, we can quickly rally and regroup for another attack. I belive that we can cope better than our advasiaries.

RR: There's a large army from Ash Sea Islands / Falasan that recently moved into Byblack. Why do you think they are there? Tony: The ASI troops are there to build their stats up of the region. Peace talks are going on between the RS And ASI, they shouldnt do anything hostile. If they do they will only make the war worse by prolonging it.

RR: Slightly off topic, but there's been a recent spike in the TL count in RedSpan. Considering the lowered numbers of regions, and therefore less tax money, will this be a blessing or bane for the army? Tony: In some ways it is both. It is a blessing as there will be more TL's that can move out and fight, but it is also a bane for the army as there will be smaller units. But we should be able to cope with it. As long as we fuction as one, our forces will be able cope with any situation.

RR: Thank you for your time.

A Daily Dose of Da One
From Da One on War:

Asked why he would take prisoners of war. "They may just taste good!"

From Da One on Peace:

"There is no such thing. Is there would be no war, there would also be no more people.."

From Da One on Soap:

"A singular purpose tool, soap. Use it on a Dragon, make him eat it and he'll die on his own empty bubbles.."
