Now after Yoruk BronzeWeasel was appointed Duke of Port Nebel, he delivered what I believe to be a very interesting message. I believe, whatever you think about the rebellion up until this point may be called into question with this next series of messages from Yoruk.
Now that I have been given my position all debts towards and against me have been balanced. I never sought this position for personal gain, but to enforce an agreement that was made. Please understand, the way that I was raised, that formal business transactions are almost sacred to me. When one enters into them, one binds themselves to the result. I treat all transactions that I enter into similarly, though I usually try to be as lenient as the situation permits. Rest assured, if any of you enter into an arrangement with me, I will do everything in my power to ensure that you are given that which is promised.
With that being said, I actually don't want the position if I am truly despised by the nobility of this land. Keep in mind that I pushed for a republic, a system which would never allow a hated man to keep a position such as this. As I previously stated, I would allow the nobility of this land to vote on whether or not I am to leave. However, due to the persistence of Edelstein and his faction in addition to the limited menu options of an official referendum, I have decided to hold a petition to determine whether I am to leave or stay. The first step of this petition is my formal Statement of Defense. In this I will recall the facts from slightly before the rebellion to the period shortly following it as best as I can. There is no doubt that these facts will be contested. I may even make mistakes in it. I am no where near perfect, but I will try my best regardless. It may be long, but I do ask that you read my side of the story before signing the petition.
Yoruk BronzeWeasel's Official Statement of Defense:
After Katayanna was banned by Lord Edelstein, Mathias approached me not by letter, but in person (OOC: IRL). He requested that I follow his instructions and aid his friends. He stated that they were considering a rebellion. I agreed and explained that I was suprised that they hadn't done so sooner. I agreed to help, but only if I was allowed to retain control over Nebel. He agreed and began instructing me. I followed his orders to the hilt. Sometime between this and the actual rebellion I requested a central position in the government. Looking back on my request, I realize how foolish it was. I have never had experience as anything other than a region lord, how was I expected to be granted such an important position? Regardless of my experience, I was promised Judge.
I was instructed to give him all my gold. I only had 150 at the time. I was also instructed to coordinate my region's draft offices with his movements, to ensure that he would receive all the soldiers. I conducted 2 harsh drafts, back to back. I produced 19 soldiers (or maybe it's 17), far more than the loyalists were able to muster. I don't know for certain, but it is my belief that the Dragonshire faction already had a sizeable force, and was using my region's forces to simply ensure a quick victory.
Here comes the part that I am probably hated the most for. I, however, am a man that takes responsibility. To ensure a quick victory I proposed that we (Mathias and myself) engineer a deception which would fool the loyalist forces into charging into a vastly superior monster horde. I am the one who made the official realm wide request to move into Nebel. I admit it. Mathias enthusiastically agreed with me and commanded his faction to misdirect to Nebel. This made the loyalists think that they were heading into an easy victory. After the battle...no...after the slaughter, Mathias declared the rebellion and ordered me, in person (OOC: no letters), to declare myself a rebel, write a short statement supporting him, and to move into Port Nebel.
The rebellion didn't take long. I spouted off my mouth to the defeated loyalist forces, for which I was reprimanded. I was told I could not have Judge. I didn't really want Judge anyway, so I wasn't too off put. The real trouble came when I started requiring Mathias to make good on his promise and give me something of equal value. At first he gave me banker knowing full well that I had no experience with such a task. I trusted that Mathias would not give me a task that I was incapable of, and I thought that if I had access to the expertise of his group, that I would be able to do it. However, unbeknown to me, others in Shadovar already had claim to that position. I immediately stepped down upon learning that I was stealing that which was not mine. If a position could not be found, than I demanded gold. They believed that 300 gold was a fair quantity. That comes to a total profit of 150 gold. A mere pittance compared to what I was originally promised. I demanded compensation, and my demands were misunderstood as threats. In the end we reached a peaceable agreement, the duchy of Port Nebel.
And here I stand today. I have done some things that I am not proud of. Most notably the pre-rebellion deception.
That is the pure truth, as best as I can muster it. There is a chance that this truth will anger many people. It can not be helped. I hope you will appreciate my honesty. If you feel that you have been personally wronged by me in any way, please write your letters in request format to the entire realm, publicly demanding an apology. If you are deserving of one, you will receive it. If I am worthy of such a favor I would like to be given the chance to apologize to you before you sign the petition. Such a favor, however, is yours alone to give.
There is but one possible response for this petition. If you want me gone then you must send a letter of request to me directly. This letter should request that your name be added to the petition. 30 minutes after every sunset and sunrise I will update the petition. The petition will not be anonymous so feel free to provide an explanation to the realm as to why you want me gone. This is a self-imposed punishment, but I am looking for a 2/3 majority. The petition will close on dawn 2 days from now. I feel obligated to remind everyone that abstaining from the petition is just as good as not signing it. By abstaining, you are telling me that you care not whether I stay or leave.
Petition:
Should Yoruk be sent into exhile:

Eight Hours Later, Lady Katayanna Ogren sent the following, attempting to organize and rally the nobles of Shadovar:

Lords, Ladies, Nobles of Shadovar,
Shadovar is in great need of your help. The Dictatorship is gone, I hope never to return. What is left is a realm that has no real sense of itself. This is fairly normal after a rebellion.
The only ones that can give Shadovar the boost that it needs are you. The nobility of Shadovar. I would very much like to hear the voices of our nobility. I have heard much form those that are now leaving our realm in disgrace, I would like to hear from those that are to remain.
Your ideas, your thoughts, you desires these are a vital part of who we are to become. Shadovar will not become the Dragon Shire that I wanted to create a colony for. That is not its destiny. That is not where the heart of Shadovar is. So what is? What do you, the nobility want to show the rest of Dwilight. Where do you, the nobility want shadovar to go.
We will be expanding. We have no choice. We must feed our regions so that they can grow, Shadovar can grow. We need to finish taking these islands and secure them with fortifications against the onslaught of the monster hordes.
We need to expand to the west to secure more rural regions as well. Only in this way can we ensure that the food requirements are met.
Shadovar is the perfect nexus point for trade throughout Dwilight. We are the center of the shipping lanes. If we use this to our advantage, we will be the richest realm on Dwilight. But his can only be accomplished through hard work and dedication. Not of one or a few people, but of us all.

Shadovar needs you. The more proactive our nobility is the more successful we shall become.

Five hours after Sir Yoruk BronzeWeasel sent his messages, Scarlett Emperor Mathias Ridder sent this:

Nobles of the Kingdom of Shadovar,
Yurok has recently put up a petition to have himself removed from office. I vote we remove him! Yes it is true that he was a major instrument in my overthrowing of Dictator Edelstien, but this must be done. Since the beginning of this rebellion he caused me nothing but stress and unrest. He has split my nation in two, and it will not be long until unrest leads to something worse. I must listen to the voices of my nobles, and do this for the greater good of the Kingdom of Shadovar.
I vote for his volutary removal from his position.

Yoruk replied with this:

Even when ordered to overdraft Nebel, give all of my money to the rebellion thus forcing financial neglect upon my region, and facing constant monster attack, I still kept Nebel's production and morale higher than any other region.
However, Conrac, your name has been added to the petition.
Mathias, your name has been added as well.
I will be posting the updated petition 30 minutes after dawn.

Conrac retorted an hour later with:

You hardly overdraft Nebel, its our second biggest population center.
I don't care if you gave all of your money to the rebellion, thats your own choice. Most lords usually have something called re-investing rather then funding pet projects.
You did not keep Nebel's production and morale higher then any other region. Raviel is in far better shape and Port Raviel despite the fact that Duke James hasn't said or done anything in the last twelve days are both in better shape then Nebel.
Frankly you haven't done anything useful. Nebel's two recruitment centers were not built by you. You didn't build fortifications, you didn't increase the population, your so-called high production of Nebel is currently 0%, may I ask what you have done besides fund pet projects?
To be honest, I'm glad that Marquis Nacaran, probably the best region lord Nebel ever had is back in his old position, and I'll be very happy tossing your overweight butt off this island.

Fifteen hours after this message, or so, Mathias Ridder used as-of-yet unexplained sorcery to forcibly remove Duke James ConDoin from his position as Duke of Port Raviel. (OoC: He used a OoC Ban with the reasoning of "You have obviously been abusing the game by signing on every couple of days in order to receive tax share. You have been hurting the realm by not reappointing a Lord to Raviel, and have ignored letter from both the realm, and members of the government. You have been pretending to be "inactive," and this is why you are to be banned.") Shortly after this, Lady Katayanna Ogren was appointed Duchess of Port Raviel.

Eight hours past the appointment of Duchess Katayanna Ogren, Chancellor Valdrix Hendrix banished Duke Yoruk BronzeWeasel of Port Nebel for crimes including: The destruction of a religious temple of the Ordo Concilium in Port Nebel, the seizing of said temples treasury, shutting down two recruitment centers, and the taking of a substantial amount of gold from the realm. The government of Shadovar under Scarlett Emperor Mathias Ridder later reimbursed the Ordo Concilium 150 gold in order to prove they did not stand behind Yoruk's actions against their religion.
