Realms of Dwilight
March 31st Zanaras
We've all heard rumors of these cities across the seas and thousands of miles away from our lands, but how much do we really know about them? Well, I sent several of the Press's scribes on horseback to these distant lands. Each of them was instructed to find the rulers of these distant lands and learn a bit more about them. This issue is a completion of what they returned with.

In all honesty, I was rather hoping I could get Queen Alanna of Pian en Luries to do the one for Pian, but as she sent no official response on it I did it myself. Also, at the time I initially started this issue, a few realms did not yet exist. Also, among those that didn't reply are Madina and Springdale. Perhaps their rulers were ill, or on a royal hunt or something.

Everguard
March 31st High King Fisc Arylon
The origins of Everguard are born from the ashes of a distant continent called the South-East Island, which was a land completly consumed by war, strife and betrayal. As we watched our land die, many of us came to these shores as refugees, being taken in by the realm of Springdale and given a home. We found once we got here that we were a different breed of people - our time on that continent had somehow changed us, and we were unsettled and uncomfortable with simply staying inside the safe borders of Springdale, no longer living a rough life of war.

And so, former adversaries from different realms on that blasted land came together and formed a delegation. 17 nobles strong - with people from not only the south-east, but also people who had grown tired of life in an established kingdom, did leave for the city of Valkyrja and establish a new realm, dedicated to the principles for which we lived our lives for so long.

In this land we are given a unique opportunity - we need not fight men to satisfy our nobility and honor in battle. In the blackness that is the west, we face untamed land, monsterous hordes of beings intend on our death. We are the frontiersmen of this continent, dedicated to civilizing the west and ridding the continent of the black hearted beasts once and for all. We view the northwest corridor as our manifest destiny to control - but we do not wish any ill will on any other human realm.

You ask of goals - it is our goal to carve out a splendid and grand kingdom - one built on our OWN sweat and labor, built on our OWN rugged frontiersmanship - one built on our own ingenuity of spirit. We did not begin as an established realm on this continent, but we will take our place amongst the greatest nations of the world, and we will have done so on our own terms.

Morek
April 1st Grandmaster Deverka Cryfdwr
The Oder of Morek is a Feudal theocracy under the fuedal Lord Grandmaster. The Religion is strongly influenced by Sanguis Astroism. The High Prophet of Sanguis Astroism even has the religions right to appoint the High Inquisitor(judge), the The hand of secular justice and head of regligious justice within Morek.

Morek is committed to rulership of the Easterners over the native Dwilishmen through the guidance of Sanguis Astroism. Saguis Astroism is a universal religion that seeks to stake its place in all governments on Dwilight. It should be noted that the Morek is more likely to be influenced by Sanguis Astroism than vice-verse. Sanguis Astroism is centered on the reverence of the three perpetually hanging Bloodstars (http://www.greylight.org/cgi/bloodstar).

Those with the conviction to serve the stars in guarding the bodies or conquering the souls of the peoples of Dwilight are most welcome here.

Grand Duchy of Fissoa
April 1st Grand Duke Leon Agenor
The Grand Duchy of Fissoa once belonged to the Republic of Madina but after a succession Grand Duke Agenor formed his own realm. Although having close contact with the Republic, the Grand Duchy remains independent. The duchy doesn’t consider itself a true realm but more of a large city state which has expanded far beyond the city borders.

The people of Fissoa are diverse, most inhabitants are simple peasants and live on the country side while the richer folk and traders life in the city of Fissoa or the outskirts known as the Fissoa field. There also is a towns land at the North border called Drowenton and has a sort of independence within the Duchy. The current Countess is a privateer in service of the Grand Duke.

While peasants do enjoy some simple freedoms within the duchy, any since of rebellion is crushed without remorse. Exile into the dessert is a common punishment for those that rebel and considered even worse then a quick execution.

All boys are conscripted into the army school at the age of 6 and are learn basic writing and reading, history, law, wrestling, running, and other useful knowledge and skills. Normally they can visit their homes once every 3 months for a few days but only the richest can afford these trips for their sons. At the age of 16 boys are considered a man and are aloud to return for their families. Only the most capable fighters and wisest potential scholars are aloud to stay, if they choose too.

Those that can fight are trained to be professional well trained and armed soldiers. They are send within the dense forest region of Manuwai, trained in trusting spear, sword and shield. If they survive training and pass their final tests they will serve with the small regular forces of the Grand Duchy. While the smarter and wiser are trained to aid the government in their daily tasks. They are the bureaucrats, doctors, and inventors within the duchy.

Although not rich in trade or militairy, Fissoan are a proud people. Many are settled sailors or pirates that left the Madina Island for a more stable envirmont.

Madina Colony
April 4th Prime Minister Delia Sosiskiy
The Madina Colony does not have a definable culture as of yet. We are too young and we are just getting to know each other. Of course there are exceptions to this, a number of Nobles have served together in the past.

We could say that our main heritage, which we already possess, is friendship and respect towards each other. The Nobles who come from a single different continent know each other like brother and sister. Our main goal is to expand peacefully, to establish good relations with all realms on Dwilight, and to successfully raise our "child" - this colony.

We wish everybody to know that they are always welcome here if they want adventure and accept difficulties. This part of the world is yet very uncharted, only a handful of Nobles ventured further than 50 miles off the coast. Here newcomers are welcome and will be warmly greeted. They have lots of opportunities to prove themselves but for recognition they need to work hard. This colony is a place of respect and honor where we all work together like a big family for a single goal - to make this realm a success.

Pian en Luries
April 11th Zanaras Tian
Pian en Luries is one of the four founding realms of dwilight, located on the south eastern tip of the eastern isle. Of all the realms, Pian en Luries is rumored to actually have the largest military on the continent. Unlike some other lands, Pian seems to have a pro-duchal culture that clashes with the one-realm government, creating some interesting dynamics, yet this culture has yet to truly hamper it's military's strength or result in all out rebellion. That is not to say that these differences do not result in the occassional clash or feud, but perhaps that is what makes Pian en Luries so great; it's open to differences.

If nothing else, it should be known that the military power that is Pian en Luries, is always looking for new nobles and is seldom short of opportunities for nobles looking to advance up the chains of heirarchy as long as they are willing to let their voice be heard.
