Pike Family/Jacob

History

Jacob Pike is the younger brother to Harriman Pike. When it was finally Jacob's his time too leave the family home in Leers he decided he did not want to live in the direct shadow of Harriman. If Jacob was going to make a name for himself he wanted wanted to make it based on his deeds in a realm and did not want to compete with his brother. Harriman told him that Hammarsett was a growing realm in need of good knights. Harriman had some good friends up there and Jacob would be sure to have a good place to prove himself and grow. Jacob felt that it was acceptable while he was gaining his position because the people knew his brother it was far enough away from him that they should not be compared and it would not be said that Jacob relied on his brother for help. Once there he become a knight in service to King Regulus in the region of Cheltenborne. The first thing Jacob did when he got to his new estates was to enlarge them so they could better serve Regulus. After a short period of time he marched to Crahandan to help bring it under Hammarsett's control. After Crahandan joined the realm of Hammarsett it was in need of a knight. After a bit of discussion and with King Regulu's permission Jacob became a knight of Crahandan. Some time latter after a few fights with monsters and other minor adventures Jacob was able to become a courtier in order to serve his realm. Since there where not many in the realm and they where in some need he became one. His first task was to help fixup the region of Crahandan which he did with great zeal. After Crahandan was taken care of the rulers of Hammaresett decided it was time to add Winwich to their realm. So of course Jacob marched forth with his small unit to do what he could to help. After a short period of time Winwich was added to the realm. There Jacob worked for a long time battling the evil paperwork. Only taking short breaks to return to the Capital in order to get some ale and gold for his small unit. Perhaps someday with work he will be allowed to become a region lord himself or some other higher position in the realm.

Unit

Jacob recruited this infantry unit after he lost his unit due to accidentally allowing his previous unit's moral to drop to low. Captain Jurgen joined when the first batch was recruited which was a great surprise. It was a bit unexpected but seems his skills where not to great so it seemed to be a good match that both the captain and the commander both where a bit experienced. The was formed from men who lived in the area of Shanandoah the capital of Hammarsett. Once again the troops where about as green as the commander so they where a perfect match for each other. When Jacob became a courtier he had to disband Valhalla's Hammers as they where to large for him to command. Thus Valhalla Honour Guard was formed to protect him has he does his courtier work. Since he was a courtier he could not actively train his men so their training raises slowly when he does on occasion need to march into battle
