Sultanate, Suicidal? article =April, 30 1011 It would seem when the Army of Obsidian Islands landed in Kazan they where unwelcomed by the Sultanate of Asena army, understandably so of course. After being defeated, the Sultanate of Asena retreated but continued to send a few nobles into Kazan to suicide their units, causing very little (if any) damage to the Army of Obsidian Islands. Now it would seem, again with less numbers and weaker troops, the Sultanate of Asena is sending troops to suicide in Stora as the Army of Obsidian Islands has a clear advantage, and that is also assuming that the Sultanate of Asena can manage to land every single noble with a unit at the same time for battle as well.

Rebels in Salta

April, 25 1011 The people of Salta have once again revolted from the rule of the Sultanate of Asena. It would seem, despite being only a days travel time from their capital in Kazakh they cannot quite gain a control over the region. Between this and the very poor shape the rest of their regions are in, one must wonder how they are continuing this war, though their military numbers have dropped quite dramatically lately.

Northern Troubles

April, 21 1011 It would seem not much has changed in the north. Sirion is currently occupying Krimml, the capital of Fontan. Though they are having trouble holding onto adjacent regions to Krimml, making things a little harder then they should be. The Sultanate of Asena also seems to be having trouble holding onto regions, as nearly all of their regions are in horrible shape, and Salta has revolted a few times as well, a region just one days travel from their capital and has not been under attack in quite some time. Not much change from the Obsidian Islands though, not sure if that can be taken in a good or bad way.

The South Divide

April, 21 1011 After a short break in both news, and fighting, Perdan and Caligus returned to their front against Ibladesh and with a vengeance. Perdan overran Woolton, Caligus struck Moyale and then both Perdan and Caligus combined to march into Ar Mosul. It seems the south is being decided very quickly, and it does not look good for Ibladesh or Diocese of Aix.

Take Over Stopped

April 11, 1011 A few days ago, the might of Obsidian Islands fell upon the shores of Kazan. the Sultanate of Asena could do little to stop such and lost a good chunk of their army as such. After the initial attack, a few of the Islanders where sent home, leaving just enough to keep the take over running. Even with this the Sultanate of Asena did not attack, only misdirected with a single unit marching in to slaughter. Finally, last night the Asenian troops started moving out. The Islanders saw this, and called out the orders to defend. The Sultanate of Asena had a very slight numbers advantage, while the Obsidian Islands had a slight combat strength advantage. This however meant little for the Islanders since the Asenians came in with much more infantry then the Islanders had to defend with. After a long, and bloody battle, the forces from the Sulanate of Asena managed to pinch victory and stop the take over of Kazan.

Shores of Kazan

April 8, 1011 The shores of Kazan, early morning, the ships coming from Obsidian Islands landed. They had two goals in mind, first was to destroy the Sultanate of Asena forces in the region, second was to take the region again. As the Obsidian Islands army landed, they quickly got into formation, knowing that the Sultanate of Asena forces where not far away, preparing for battle as well. Both sides started marching, with the advantage being with the Obsidian Islands. As they marched towards each other, the Obsidian Islands army noticed monsters attacking from the rear as well. It was first thought that the monsters where going to help the Sultanate of Asena, but to the surprise of the Islanders, the monsters started attacking the Aseniens! Not that it made much of a difference, since the Islanders where already beating the Aseniens anyway, the monsters just added overkill factor to the battle.

Another Loss

April 5, 1011 The Sultanate of Asena has sadly lost another Sultan, this time to the battlefield. Leading a hopeless attack against Sirion in Greatbridge, Sultan and Pasha Leandros Galvez was killed by Roland Jones and his unit. Why the attack was called for? We do not know, but this ultimate sacrifice will not be forgotten - not by his realm mates, not by his allies and no, not even by his enemies. The Obsidian News send their best regards, war brings about the worst side of things, including unnecessary death.

Military Power Changes?

April 5, 1011 At the end of last month, Ibladesh was the strongest realm, followed by Sirion. Taking up the bottom of the rankings was Obsidian Islands being the weakest, with Diocese of Aix being slightly stronger in the rankings. Here are the newly updated, beginning of the month rankings: First - Sirion Second - Ibladesh Third - Caligus Fourth - Perdan Fifth - Westmoor Sixth - Fontan Seventh - Sultanate of Asena Eighth - Obsidian Islands Ninth - Diocese of Aix As you can all see, not much change in the rankings, Ibladesh falling one spot, Sirion taking over the top spot again, Diocese of Aix dropping to last, Obsidian Islands gaining a spot, Sultanate of Asena and Fontan have dropped while Perdan, Caligus and Westmoor have all gained spots.

Looking Back

April 5, 1011 A quick look back over events over the last month: Obsidian Islands and Sultanate of Asena went to war. Ibladesh and Diocese of Aix went to war with Caligus and Perdan. Westmoor and Caligus went to war. Caligus and Fontan went to war. Sirion took Fontan City and gave it to Caligus. Sirion took Karbala City from Fontan. Caligus gave Partora to Perdan. Along with this, several large battles have happened between the realms listed above as well, with thousands of troops being killed.
