His Story

Darrin spent much of his early life as a wanderer, joining many realms but never finding a home. After leaving the O'Shea estate in Bolgar, he set out for the East Continent, and joined the realm of Fontan. The nobles here were friendly, but Darrin could not identify with the deep-seeded hate they bore for other realms on the continent, and decided to continue his travels.

He set sail again, this time travelling to Beluaterra. There, he joined the realm of Riombara. There was a massive monster invasion happenning at the time, and being a Hero, Darrin decided to stay here for a while, and did all he could to help Riombara survive the invasion. He fought many battles here, and gained much experience. But after the undead had been driven from Riombaran lands, and there were no more battles to fight, Darrin began to feel the wanderlust again. He longed for combat, as all Heroes do, and decided to help one of the many small realms that had begun to spring up across the continent.

So Darrin left Riombara and headed northwest to join the city-state of Khthon. With only a few peasants left in the city, it had been an easy conquest. Holding the city, however, proved to be much more diffucult. After a few battles with some marauding monsters, the nobles of Khthon had lost most of their men and spent most of their gold. The realm of Plergoth marched their army north, with the greedy and merciless intention of taking the city and squashing the fledgling realm. All King Predbjorn II could do to protect his people was to surrender the city to the invaders. Khthon was no more, and Darrin was again forced to find a new realm.

He took to the sea again, and sailed back to the East Continent, this time joining the small but storied realm of Ubent. Ubent had just 5 regions when Darrin arrived, and with nearly 80 nobles to support, gold was very sparse. Ubent was in the process of reorganizing both their government, and their political alliances, so there weren't any battles to fight. Darrin quickly grew uncomfortable with the conditions in Ubent, and decided to journey on.

Again Darrin crossed the sea, and landed in the frozen north of Beluaterra. There he joined a colony that had been started by members of Old Grehk and Riombara, which eventually became known as Thalmarkin. There were plenty of monsters & undead to fight here, but because of the invasion and extreme weather conditions, it was very diffucult for the peasants to survive, and the realm grew very slowly. Thalmarkin became overcrowded with nobles looking for adventure and battle, and gold quickly became very scarce. When the realm of Valentia sprouted up just a few regions to the south, Darrin decided to leave Thalmarkin for this new realm.

Valentia had started out in much better shape than Thalmarkin. Not only was the weather milder, but the capital city of Unger had managed to ward off the invading hordes and still had a few thousand inhabitants. With only 8 nobles, gold was much more plentiful here. Darrin grew to like Valentia very much; the small group of nobles became like family to him. Kokomaro saw his devotion to the realm, and made him Count of Winifael. After moving into his mansion in Winifael, Darrin decided that Valentia would be his home.

Noteable Accomplishments:

• Served Valentia as Count of Winifael.

• Founder of "The Valentic Order".
