Part of the Raiding of Al Amarah events.

The city of Avamar never looked so nice... Corwyn supposed that was a normal reaction to something you longed for but was just out of reach.

Atanamir of Umbar had been wounded, and Corwyn suspected it was another of those treacherous Fontanese infiltrators. Fontan seemed to have 2 infiltrators for every one of their nobles in battle. No wonder that realm was now just a pale husk of its former glory.

Seadak Cullom had been delayed back in Al Amarah, and was only able to reach Montijo just now. This had already divided the raiding force and was indirectly responsible for five of Corwyn's men that now lay wounded, due to not attacking with the raiding group's full strength earlier in the day.

He knew that more infiltrators lay nearby. He wouldn't be surprised if two of them were the Lord and a knight of this very region, which his scouts had spotted earlier without troops.

The smart thing to do might be to move onwards to Avamar. He and his men could reach it, though it would mean leaving Sir Atanamir and Lord Seadak behind. The sensible thing to do would to make sure he didn't get captured, as his bags were full of looted Fontanese gold.

He was surrounded by enemy forces from most neighboring regions, no doubt furious at their loss to his elven kin up in Sermbar. They would show Corwyn no mercy.

So naturally Corwyn had no choice...

"Get ready for another battle lads and try to dig in, duty calls us once again!"
