Interview with Dobromir Menethel King of Caligus 31 December 1012
Just before the new year ends we decided to do an interview with the sovereign of the kingdom of Caligus his highness King Dobromir. It is impossible to say that modern day Caligus hasn’t been shaped by the king who has led the realm through thick and thin and into its modern day prosperity; reaching down the coast from Fontan city to Isadril in the south. Some loath him, some praise him, however all can agree that his opinion matters. We asked him a series of questions presented below. Many thanks to King Dobromir and the kingdom of Caligus for his cooperation with this interview!
1.Caligus and Perdan have enjoyed a growing diplomatic situation ever since the beginning of the war against Ibladesh united by the shared desire to remove the Church of Ibladesh from the continent. Now that this goal has been achieved do you see Caligus and Perdan continuing to work together or is the task at hand completed?
The answer to your question isnt straightforward. Caligus has many friends in the continent and will also strive to support the side who we feel is on the right side. It happened long ago when Sirion was attacked by multiple realms and happened again with Ibladesh. But as long as we maintain an open honest relationship I see us working together for the forseeable future.
2.What is your opinion on the recently concluded southern war between Armonia and Eponllyn and what was the deciding reason that Eponllyn was given permission to claim the city of Ibladesh after the duration of the war?
The answer to this is rather simple. When war was declared between the realms I after consulting with Perdan over the regions granted that they can takeover the regions however they liked. We only maintained the right to redistribute regions if we saw it fit after the war. Obviously the war was settled and we did not interfere with how things went and Eponllyn now has Ibladesh city.
3.Forgive the ignorance of myself but what is the story behind Dunnera? Traemlin Augulus once high marshal of Caligus later king of Dunnera and then a few months later, according to White Tree Times, was seen boarding a ship to another continent from Fontan. From what I can gather a lot of the conflict revolved around your brother Aiden and this fellow called Davis Nosferatus (whom incidentally is now wanted for a crime in Westmoor.)
Basically the situation of succeeding Fontan into a new realm was a long process which was kept being insisted on by Davis Nosferatus. He also was very contraversal in his time in Caligus and him being elected in Dunnera was a disaster waiting to happen. In the end to make Dunnera Aiden has to step down from his Duke / Margrave position and Traemlin was appointed in his stead with the agreement to restore Duke Aiden afterwards. After the succession Margrave was given back to Aiden but the Dukeship was not restored. Then Davis began his propaganda to try and get rid of Duke Aiden. Apparantly he felt he could order my brother around to do as he liked. Afterwards Aiden was fined in a trial which was false to begin with and later banned out of fear of him doing things. Aiden then sacked the buildings of Fontan.
I amongst hearing all this obviously threatened with war because King Traemlin obviously did not keep his word and was forming a realm surrounded by anti-Caligus nobles (mainly people from Fontan). I personally tried to avoid war however King Traemlin gave me false words and no actions just to start preparing defenses. After a week of waiting on false words and delays and seeing Dunnera prepare for war obviously this left me a simple choice but to take back the regions that belonged to Caligus rather than let them grow in a rebellious realm.
Simply put trying to prevent Aiden from getting his position he held as Fontan city and remove him from it altogether from it is what led to Dunnera's downfall. Basically it falls squarely on King Traemlins shoulders for not fullfilling his word.
4.What convinced you to allow Sirion to lay claim to the remaining Fontanese regions after the fall of Dunnera?
This answer is simple. Caligus tried to make a realm and the obvious fact is once you give nobles power they wont let it go and they will go with it to their own realms graves once they have it. Caligus was not interested in making a realm and we do not wish to expand anymore than we currently have now.
5.Do you miss the realm of Fontan?

6.Is there any news from inside Caligus itself? Celebrations, gossip, tournaments planned etc?
Caligus has been rather quiet as of late. We have just finished repairing Mines, Igno and Tota and things have been rather quiet. A tournament might be hosted shortly as it is the first time we've fully claimed and repaired all our regions. We are also waiting for a region swap with Perdan Meuse for Moyale to fully restore our proper borders with each other.
Chuch of Humanity celebrates the new year in Perdan City!
Huge numbers of people have been gathered over the past few days to celebrate the new year in Perdan city. The procession organized by Arch Cleric and Ruler of the Kingdom of Westmoor Jor Tanos has been a huge success with nobles from five or more realms making their way to Perdan the birthplace of the holy church. There has been singing here, dancing by street entertainers, songs and hymns both secular and sacred. Lets drink to prosperity for the church in the coming year!
