The moon was absent and the darkness was thick, the only sounds were the moaning and wet noises coming from her sword as it slashed through the darkness. The last of the Undead army collapsed in ash after a particularly strong spin attack and Brigid bent over at the waist, spent and gasping. Through her shroud of dark hair something glowed white. She landed on her knees and crawled forward to the pile of ash and blew. There lay a Mysterious Book. It was as thick as her hand and black as the night, but for the strange symbols glowing white on the cover. Useful for what, she did not know. What she did know, is perhaps some noble would be grateful for a chance at greatness. Grabbing the book, she pocketed it in her sack and collapsed over it. Rest, then retreat, not the most fancy end to a fight, she thought, but an end nonetheless.
