The riverside townsland of Muspel is a bustling center of commerce. Merchants crowd the highways, hawking their wares on their way to Muspelheim. During the day, a traveler can hardly compete with the caravans moving raw materials from the mountains, food and goods from Croton and Nidhogg's Mark, and soldiers heading out to the front lines or returning to refit.
The Black River is equally busy, crowded with fishing boats, passenger vessels and merchant ships. Its shores are lined with countless wharfs and docks.
Of late the strengthening of Morekian culture has meant an influx of SA Pilgrims, travelling between Muspelheim, the North and the sacred birthplace of Sangius Astroism, Cailyn to the south, and as a result the pilgrims chant and song can often be heard on the evening winds.
The crest above the bureaucratic center reads: "Et Fillio: Brother to all who are virtuous.", a remnant of the administration of Duke Francios de Leon. In the courtyard of the center is a large and commanding bronze statue of the Marquis of Muspel, Martok Hallisun. Below it a plaque reads "In service to the Stars, all happiness resides."
The townsland of Muspel has always been the food basket of Muspelheim and its the city's first line of protection from attack.
