1020-05-16

I have taken up the vacant Jensen Family Brewery estate in the region of Mulhouse, duchy of Perdan, realm of Perdan in the East Continent.

My new liege is the Lady Delphine de Montigny, Margravine of Mulhouse and Marshal of the Blackmane Paladins. My duke is Sir Smiddich Fontaine, Ambassador of Perdan, Duke of Perdan and Margrave of Perdan.

The realm of Perdan is ruled by King Kay Peregrine and his trusted council:

The realm is one of the largest, with 45 nobles and a population of over 244000 spread over 2 duchies and 14 regions.

After some warm welcomes and much needed advice, I have joined the Blackmane Paladins.

I plan to make my way toward the capital in order to recruit more men and obtain all of the needed instruments of war. While the realm is currently at peace, I sense an uneasiness in the air.

My men have dubbed themselves the "Hieland Laddies". I suspect many of them still yearn for the old days at sea.

We have traveled to the land of Venas via ferry in order to claim the lands of the so-called Obsidian Isles for our realm. Sir Norum Quasath and I were the first to make landfall and quickly dispatched the monsters prowling the country-side. While not the most eventful battle, it was my first taste of combat under Perdan banners, and so a battle that I will remember.

We learned shortly after the battle that our Marshal Lady Delphine has sent orders without the consent of the realm council, and so only a small force will make it across the sea, the rest still awaiting council approval before embarking. Nevertheless, I do not regret following her orders as it granted me the opportunity to bloody my sword on the foul beasts that have been terrorizing these lands.

These barren lands offer nothing edible for the men and our provisions are dwindling, but the work here is good. We are mingling with the locals, restoring their faith in the nobility.

My scouts from Luden have returned tonight. They report that there is a lone knight of Eponllyn stationed in that desolate place. A strange sight, and so I've forwarded the report to my superiors.

The council seem set on the annexation of these wild lands. I have requested that I be stationed here for some time after the annexation. I wish to learn more of statecraft and stewardship, so seeing first-hand the development of such a hopeless place into a prosperous and loyal region of Perdan would be most valuable.

We shall see what the council decides after the takeover succeeds.
