Early History

Cors Lewinn (né Lewis-Forgrinn), first Patriach of the merchant House of Lewinn.

The House of Lewinn was founded as the result of a schism between two merchant brothers hailing from the city Giblot, located within the Colonies. Burlebin and Cors Lewis-Forgrinn each held equal share of a successful, although politically negligible, trading house. The family's generational efforts resulted in Lewis-Forgrinn Importers as the primary purveyor for the majority of silk and ivory for noble consumption in the continent's cities and hamlets.

Founding

Cors Lewis-Forgrinn separated himself and his family from the greater Lewis-Forgrinn estate after a series of increasingly contentious disagreements between he and his brother, Burlebin Lewis-Forgrinn. Deciding that only a complete separation would be sufficient to assuage his damaged honor, Cors changed his name to Lewinn, a portmanteau of Lewis and Forgrinn.

In the year 5 of the Dwilight Calendar, Cors moved his family to their current home, seeking a new start in D'Hara. The excesses of the Colonial republics convinced Cors that a monarchical country would be better suited as the cradle of a new merchant house. D'Hara, with its intriguing culture and superior trade routes was the natural choice. The House of Lewinn had found a new home.

Present Day

The House of Lewinn remains headquartered out of Port Nebel in D'Hara. After the financially disastrous transition to Dwilight, the family's fortunes remain in flux. With the death of Cors in Dwilight Year 7, Milors Ab Lewinn automatically became the second Patriarch of the House of Lewinn. The acceptance of the Lewinn family into D'Haran noble society has buoyed the spirits and finances of the clan, although competition and lack of contacts in the commercial world continues to hamper the House's growth. The inability of Milors and his wife, Mirabeth, to have numerous children also puts the longevity of the Lewinn name in jeopardy.

Notable Family Members

Milors Ab Lewinn

Milors Ab Lewinn, current head of House Lewinn, is the third Patriarch of the family. As the eldest son of Cors Lewinn (né Lewis-Forgrinn), he assumed control over the House's greater affairs upon Cors death in Dwilight Year 6.

Thers Lewinn, Son of Milors

Thers Lewinn

The first of three children and only son of Milor, Thers serves as a knight of D'Hara. Thers was twelve years old when the House of Lewinn emigrated to D'Hara. He is currently assigned to the city of Port Nebel, in the Duchy of the same name. Cenarious Stormrage, the Dragon King of D'Hara, will be assigning a new lord to replace the position recently vacated by Mathias Ridder, Duke of Paisly.

Most recently, Thers was involved in the continued fighting at Paisly between the allied forces of D'Hara and the Terran Republic versus the nation of Madina. In success at the great battle of Paisly, Thers led the Black Arrow Guard in pursuit of the defeated Madinans. He is suspicious of the intentions of Lady Eleanor Orgauth, Dame of Paisly, after seeing her leave the warship of Hexic Jeckyl, Duke of Qubel Lighthouse.

After the events of Autumn/Winter, Year 8 Dwilight, Thers returned to the Dragon Isles to serve as a courtier. After a series of distinguished reforms in several D'Haran territories, Thers returned to fighting when the rally call sounded out for Paisland. Thers was promoted to membership in the Black Lions in the Spring of Year 9.

Political alliances, intrigues and Ordenstaat's strategic capture of Maeotis caused D'Hara to declare war against the struggling woodlands realm. This decision in turn led to the declaration of war against D'Hara by the nation of Caerwyn. In the Autumn of Year 9, a Caerwyn fleet out of Golden Farrow was sent against Port Raviel, the capital of D'Hara. The ensuing battle was a decisive victory for the defenders, but the lopsided losses suffered by the attackers caused much internal questioning as to the true intentions of Caerwyn and its leadership in the attack.

Bors Lewinn

The second son of Cors Lewinn (né Lewis-Forgrinn), Bors was the younger brother of Milors and a knight serving in the Oritolon military. His return to the Colonies was controversial, as his father promised that the Lewinn family had forsworn that continent forever. Although Milors was unwilling to separate Bors from the family name, casual references to him among family and servants were few and generally referred to him as "the oath breaker."

Bors was killed in a riding accident while traveling between regions in Oritolon. His service to Oritolon was noble but without distinction. Milors Lewinn refused to return to the Colonies to preside over his younger brother's funeral, but held a private memorial service in his honor in Port Nebel, Dwilight. His refusal has generated a great deal of animosity between Milors and his son, Thers.
