Because of his youth he was fairly impetous and left home earlier then he should have. He didn't have the nessacery skills to survive in the fast-paced world of Atamara so at age 20 he retired and went home to manage the famiy's affairs. The realm that he joined, Minas Ithil, made such an impression on him that when he returned home he made sure that the next family member to leave home went to that realm.

Future Plans

Since he is retired, there isn't any future plans for him.

However, his sword hand is starting to itch again... maybe a comeback is in order?

Maybe it is, but it's probably not what he wanted: his newest marching orders are to find his brother Paul. Instead of spending his time sending out scouts, reading the newest orders, or heading to the front, Tom gets to spend his days playing archiologist and trying to run down all the numerous forgeries that litter his brother's path. Perhaps those forgeries mean that someone doesn't want Paul to be found?
