New Blood

After being knighted by Rynn, Mavia was separated from her twin sister Rania for the first time to begin her career in the embattled realm of Sorraine in the Far East. She was swiftly recruited to the Defenders of the Faith.

[Lots of Stuff I can't recall]

It was not long, however, before Mavia recieved a royal summons from Mara Tandaros, Queen of Melhed and scion of one of the JeVondair's greatest allied families to join her court in Beluaterra. Mavia departed immediately and participated in Melhed's Final War against Thalmarkin, later known to some as the War of Ice and Sun. During this time, She became Duchess of Fronepu. Mavia, however, was not militarily inclined, prefering instead the life of a courtier and doing her best to maintain the regions in her care while her warrior Queen led her wolf legions against the Eagles of Thalmarkin...and lost.

No one knows what became of Queen Mara, but with her defeat, the ancient kingdom of Melhed was doomed, the Serpantis line ended, and Mavia's duchy eventually taken from her to reform the kingdom of Ar-Agyr. It was in this time period that Selenia, recently knighted by Rynn JeVondair, also found her way to Beluaterra and found her way to ruling the Ivory Vale. Selenia invited her dispossessed cousin to serve her as Duchess of Fheuvenam, where Mavia would remain enjoying the affairs of court until Selenia's departure some years later after the Ivory Empire had stabilized.

A Conversation between Rania JeVondair and Gedrid Venture. Rania has just asked Gedrid to tell her about her sister

Her hand upon his own calmed him down.

-She was... different - a laugh was shared with that confession but the wet of his eyes still there- she was hard, so hard. The commander in Shattered were called Imperatrix, and sometimes I thought that the title really owns to her, we would had followed her until the end of the land. I think that under his voice the stones would had joined the battle, if she would had ordered to it. She was a person in which you could trust, in the battlefield you knew that your back were safe if she was there, and for some of us her voice was heavier than the own empress. You can be sure that she was a great woman, the best woman than I have ever meet. You can be proud of having her as your sister, and I think she would felt in the same way if she would had seen you as you are now, a force against these daimons who want destroy the humanity.

The eyes of Gedrid looked at the roof, swimming in a plenty of memories

-It was nice times... a beautiful region, good comrades, a great commander... and then all turns bad. It has been a shame to me all this time to know that my commander died while I was not there... She always fought bravely but I was not there when she needed to me... I feel my actions like a fault in my soul that I need to compensate in order to be plenty again.

He was looking again to the face of Rania, and the sense of guilt was deeply marked in his face.

- I can not change what happened, sadly I can not bring you her back, but I can live as she taught to me, with honor. I thought a lot about it, and I am sure your decision would be respected by her, thus... I am here for humbly request your judgement for my actions, and for accept your decision, no matter what it will be.

Now that Gedrid just told her all he had in his heart he felt a bit more free, it had been a lot of time with his thoughts, suffering with every remember, and at this moment he waited for the answer of the sister of the woman that he admired so much and he could not forget; just looking for any little movement of his mouth.

Mavia Eastersand JeVondair died with honour and dignity, defending her cause to the death. Faithful and loyal to the wrong nobles, weak nobles, that let a woman try to win their war by herself.

Owain Bolton is not a man, he is a coward that sends his woman to fight his battles.

Let her death serve its purpose and free us from the disgrace that Owain Bolton has caused.

Yours,
Valhael Mayhem (Tribune of Empire of the Shattered Vales Margrave of Creasur)

Afterlife

Roleplay
Message sent to everyone in the vicinity of Reeds
In the midst of this magical madness, a Devotion to Akkan had went up, joining the signal sent by the Jarbosh Ruffians of Jactosh's near-death. And so he came, first arriving in the Reed's bank and holding the tellers hostage until he had left credit in someone's account and a gift within a safety deposit box. Having properly frightened the poor folks with threats to their afterlife and their children's current life, he thunder-stomped towards the absurdly-wide portal beam. Casting long-familiar magic, he began the arcane healing process, and sensing Jactosh's restored health, Akkan next rose Reed's few undead to serve the Netherworld before finally teleporting away.

Alas, Akkan did not know that when the magical energy had exploded Elladan's leftover portal stones, it had also absorbed the Screeching Ring of Daishi Souls, pulled it into the circle of portal stone magic and destroyed the ring's physical form, thus unleashing the Daishi souls.

Akkan's healing scroll had succeeded in healing Jactosh, but twisted by the entrapped Daishi Souls and Daishi prayers arising throughout both Reeds and Beluaterra, it first diffused throughout the portal stone circle, killing unnamed Jarbosh Ruffians. Next exploding outside of the portal stone ring set by Elladan, Reeds was showered in magic sparks that healed Daishi faithful and wounded pagans.

Under the shower of sparks, the undead ancestors Akkan had commanded rise to fight against their living descendants broke free of the Netherworld magic and by Daishi magic stood in defense of Nothoi. In the chaos of Akkan's undead summoning and the Daishi magic, the details were lost as to how it came to be, but later in the day as folks drank and discussed the day's events, Mavia, though rather headless, was reported to be commanding the undead.( Undead Horde (Headless Mavia Eastersand) Nothoi 60 Undead)

The sparks did not die as a fiery spark though, but landed upon the ground still glowing. And immediately continued outward towards the walls, where the magical energy gathered and swirled in a circle around Reeds. Streaming back towards the portal stones, the magic left the walls much better-looking than moments before.

Accelerating through the city in unbelievable speeds towards Jactosh, locals, soldiers, animals, and nobles alike found themselves injured by flying magic sparks. The wounds appeared as if miniscule pinpricks, with both entrance and exit holes, and stung like the worst wasp sting on one's lip. But these were just collateral damage on their way to Jactosh. Striking freshly-healed Jactosh, he wailed in pain as he was pierced by hundreds of thousands of magical sparks embedding themselves deep into his Dark Self. The screeching of the Daishi Souls was now his screeching forevermore. He was not dead, but he might as well be. And so Daishi had completed the first half of what would destroy Jactosh, crippling him in debilitating pain until the second half could be completed by the Golden Feather. Not done by the magical strength of mortal humanity, but by the magical strength of Divine Daishi impressed by mortal humanity.

Not content to leave Jactosh in crippling pain for any and all actions conducted henceforth, Yao Ling successfully strikes Jactosh again, before he can set travel, with magical Pain and Suffering, leaving him in far too much agony to use any of his hours.

Yao Ling walked to the square where Jactosh had laid in his wounds. The place where the stones had washed with magical energies.

And the place where the undead continued to congregate. Yao Ling looked around and felt the magical energies still flowing. They were not as powerful as that night. But something happened and she had the feeling that the world would never be the same again. Not completely.

She turned her attention to the undead who walked in the square and studied them. She had seen many undead in her time. She had fought them in one form or another for most of her life. These were different than any she had met before.

They did not shamble. They walked proudly with heads held high.

They did not wear tattered rags. They wore clothing like any other, purchased from local shopkeepers. Very scared shopkeepers as the case was here.

Their skin was not loose and rotting. It was firm and healthy, though of a noticeably paler tone than the living.

That was in fact the primary way to tell them apart from the living.

The citizens of Reeds gave these unnatural intruders a wide berth and Yao Ling frowned. She could understand that. But she did not approve.

Yao Ling stepped up to headless body of Mavia Eastersand as the undead captain watched over her troops.

"I would like to thank you for coming here," Yao Ling said and the body turned towards her in obvious surprise.

"Why?" a thready voice asked from the air atop the body.

Yao Ling smiled. "I understand you were called to attack us in our darkest hour. Instead you chose to light it. Your people defended this city when almost everyone was hiding from the Daimon troops. I wished to thank you for that."

"Why?" the headless undead asked again.

Yao Ling let out a long breath. This undead was most unnerving. Well. That just meant she had to be more convincing. She smiled at the air above the severed neck and tried not to look nervous. It would completely spoil the effect after all.

"We do not fear death. We know we will die, and when we do we will join the Armored Gods and fight next to them against their numerous enemies. That is the way of things. That is what the Daimons sought to pollute when they created that ring to capture souls." Yao Ling scowled and waved her hands towards the middle of the square. "But the ring is gone now, it's energies and captured souls liberated to go to their new home. And yet you remain. I think that is a good thing."

The headless undead cocked her shoulders to the side in an excellent imitation of confused look. "Why?"

Yao Ling's smile grew. "Because you are dead. Because you are proof that the Great Daishi stretched forth his hand and sent his soldiers to protect us and save this city. You are the embodiment of everything we believe."

Mavia's corpse stepped back and Yao Ling could have sworn the undead was frowning in disbelief at her. "What?"

Yao Ling chuckled. "Oh, you may not be what we expected. Your appearance is certainly shocking. But I was asking Daishi for help when you came. Far be it for me to complain that the help did not come packed in a pretty bow and wearing a tutu." Yao Ling snorted at the thought, and believed she saw an amused stance in the undead captain. "And besides. Daishi works in mysterious ways, and what is more mysterious than someone such as you?"

Mavia remained still for several seconds. Then a spectral face began to appear atop her body. The face smiled. "Thank you," Mavia said and turned to walk away, long spectral hair flowing down her solid back. It was a most interesting sight to behold.

Letter from Ameria Coldwater (47 minutes ago) message to all nobles of Nothoi Sir Jeremiah, your eyes do not deceive you. In the wake of Jactosh's wounding, an undead horde was seen, commanded by Mavia, Rania's slain kin. She did not have a head. This undead unit at her command has fought alongside us for the past few days.. though it seems Headless Mavia is no longer with them.

I had almost forgotten about them. Has anyone seen Mavia? Ameria Coldwater Demokritia of Nothoi Dame of Ren Madragas

Scribe NoteBattle in Reeds

Was I dreaming ? I feel something was quite wrong in the last battle. I was quite sure I seem an undead horde fighting beside me on the walls, pushing the daimons hordes off them.

Maybe I need to return to sicks bed, maybe my concussion is yet to recover... Jeremiah Risk Knight of Reeds

I have never been beyond the Veil of death, merely close. Twas Mavia who died and was returned to this plane. Akkan, may his name be forever cursed, raised her headless body from the grave and forced her spirit to lead a force of undead during the Siege of Reeds. He was confounded by her one last time, however, when her dead soldiers turned instead against him and defended Rines until I begged then-Diadochi Hardrian Chamberlain to dismiss her and let her rest in piece. To witness it was a nightmare that dove me to the brink of madness, but In death, as in life, she was inspiring.
