The Loss of Another

Early today, the II received a report of an execution in Ubent of one of our nobles. The official report follows:

Messengers bring news of a public execution in Castle Ubent earlier today.
Olorin, a troop leader of Itorunt, had been banned from Ubent as a traitor on 2007-12-09. When he was later imprisoned, the judge of Ubent decided to make him pay for his treason.

Olorin Aroo was brutally put to death this morning by Lothar Sinweaver, Judge of Ubent. This injustice will not go unpunished. One of our nobles noted observantly that Nightmare Aroo, King of Perdan and brother to Olorin, certainly can not be too happy about this news. It is not difficult to imagine the repercussions of such actions. We can only hope the realm of Ubent swiftly meets its end. I pray that Elysia swiftly punishes the realm of Ubent for this act of injustice, and hope for Ballisa to watch over Olorin as he passes into the afterlife. May he rest in peace.

As I'd suspected, this does indeed violate a past agreement between our judge, Sir Ryndhal Nabarl, and the judge of Ubent. Sir Ryndhal confirmed that this went against a judge's agreement:

What is the point in an agreement if people do not adhere to it?

Ubent have dishonoured an agreement that stated we would not execute any of each other's nobles unless by mutual agreement. The first I heard of this was when the news of Olorin's death arrived.

It is a sad day indeed. That Olorin has died, and that other realm's show a complete lack of honour...

Sir Ryndhal Nabarl
Judge of Itorunt

Some of our nobles claimed that we should execute their nobles in return, but we are not so low as to stoop to Ubent's level. Our realm is not the only one that has condemned Ubent's actions in this matter; many of Sir Ryndhal's fellow judges agree. Sir Ryndhal himself has stated that he will not take the lives of other prisoners in simple retaliation, and will treat them as nobles if they act as such. Our nobles have recognized Olorin's noble and brave actions, each in their own way, and we pray for his well-being in the afterlife.

More Religious Controversy

It seems there are more Ibladeshians who fail to think before acting... Not too surprising, really. We received the following reports today:

Temple Looted
Rumours say that Jan Dodonna (Dame of Ibladesh) has looted the small temple of "The Triumvirate" in Az Zarqua.

Shrine burned
Rumours say that Jan Dodonna (Dame of Ibladesh, Ibladesh) has burnt a shrine of "The Triumvirate" in Az Zarqua to the ground.

We can dismiss an isolated incident of an idiot looting and burning one of our holy temples down as a mistake. If it happens again, however, there is to be no doubt that this destruction is fully purposeful. May the Triumvirate look harshly upon these fools and help us swiftly strike them down.

One Steps Down, Another Steps Up

High Marshal Epaminonda stepped down today, citing not having the time for such a demanding role as his reason for doing so. He issued a letter to the realm detailing the reasons for his directly subsequent resignation, and a copy has been preserved below:

Fellow nobles of Itorunt,

it due to RL events, I've to step down from the High Marshal position. The King will promote an new one, whom I wish the best, very soon.

It has been an honor and I'm sorry I have to leave after a short time on the role, and while we are on the edge of another enemy offensive.

I hope to have served well the realm in that role and will continue to serve in any other roles, that will be compatible with my current RL spare time.

Who knows, maybe in a few months, when I will have solved my RL problems, I may candidated again, if the opportunity will arise.

Hail Itorunt!

Epaminonda Cranioduro
High Marshal of Itorunt

He announced his impending resignation some time ago within the military council, and so a successor was able to be swiftly appointed. King Lucian finally decided on someone to replace him, and that person was... me. That's right; the new High Marshal of Itorunt is none other than me, Ichigo Kurosaki. As many of you may know, I have been offered the position a few times, but declined for personal reasons. This time, however, I have accepted King Lucian's appointment of me as the new general of the army of the Empire of Itorunt. I delivered a stirring acceptance speech to the realm following my appointment, reproduced below:

Thank you, King Lucian. I am honored to be chosen for the position of general of this great realm. Our army has performed very well, and I hope to maintain that legacy of discipline and effectiveness.

Fellow nobles of Itorunt,

I am sure many of you know me as the former Count of Zawr, or as the Marshal of the Army of Semall. Perhaps some of you remember me leading the charge when the scourge of Avamar returned in the Kalmar Islands where, through our combined efforts, a new realm called the Obsidian Islands now stands. I hope my experience gives you all increased confidence that we will win this war and repel these attackers.

Long has Itorunt stood against its enemies and protected its allies, though those allies may now have forgotten the work of our great realm. We have always defeated our invaders, and we were the ones who paved the way to a new peace throughout the East Continent when we saw that war was no longer necessary. We, the glorious realm of Itorunt, have always endured. Now we must once more bring light to our misguided enemies and show them the way, though force has become necessary with the betrayal of our once-close former confederates. I have confidence in all of you and believe that we shall once more pave the way to a better future for the East Continent.

Itorunt has endured, and Itorunt will prevail.

For Itorunt!

Ichigo Kurosaki
High Marshal of Itorunt

I am proud and honored to hold this important position and hope that I may lead the army of Itorunt to victory once more. May Aulysia protect our soldiers and drive our swords into the hearts of our enemies.

For Itorunt!

Death of an Army Man

Itorunt has lost one of its most renowned members today. During the recent battle against Tuchanon V forces in Enubec, Alois Hynes, former general of the army of Itorunt, lost his life fighting valiantly against the enemy's forces. He was wounded as his unit, the Count Nimraw's Houseguard, struck down several members of the second wave of attacking infantry. As his unit fought bravely, a dishonorable Tuchanon soldier struck Alois down from behind. Alois' unit survived to see us victorious by a large margin yet again as we continued taking back Enubec. The loss of a good noble man cut deep into the hearts of all Itoruntians. An excerpt of a reaction to the death of Alois Hynes follows:

The former High Marshal and Region Lord of Nimraw dead ?!
This is a great loss to Itorunt but at least he died a heroic death surrounded by the Blood of his victims in the frontline.

Rest in Peace Sir Alois Hynes you will be avenged!

Susanne von Lucker
Countess of Nimraw, Marshal of the Silver Wolves Brigade

And another:

Bastards...

We'll them pay, but I don't think we can ever get even. Alois was worth two of all of them.

Thray Walsh (Lord)

And yet another:

May to gods leads you safely trough the mists and into the halls of heroes!

You will be missed Alois

Faldain Pelgrim
Count of Ejarr Puutl

And one more:

Looks Like being away from the battlefield for so long, had it's consequences.

Alois died protecting everything he believed in. That's what makes him a Hero. He gave up his life so Itorunt could be succesful, and the forces that we once thought of as brothers, Ibladesh and Yssaria, could be defeated.

Farewell Alios Hynes

Krondell Stronghold Rich (Knight of Zamor)

Of course, there were many more messages, but we can only include so many. We shall avenge his death by bringing the realm of Tuchanon V to its knees. He can not be brought back, but his legacy lives on. Farewell, Alois Hynes. You will be missed. May Ballisa take you safely to the next world.

A Switch of Positions and a Milestone

Epaminonda, the former Duke of Semall (for a time) stepped down three days ago, stating he was to serve elsewhere. Our King Lucian then appointed him High Marshal of the realm. He gave a short acceptance speech, excerpted below:

Thanks my King for your trust, I will make Itorunt proud of your choice!

Epaminonda Cranioduro
High Marshal of Itorunt

In somewhat related news, King Lucian also recently reached his thousandth day in realm, and the realm was happy to congratulate him for his achievement. Anyway, King Lucian appointed the new Duke of Semall today, revealing it to be none other than Fortin, the former High Marshal. Fortin had stepped down due to time constraints, stating that he did not think he would have the time to be as active a general as the realm needed. The Itorunt Informer wishes both High Marshal Epaminonda and Duke Fortin the best of luck in serving in their new positions, and have the fullest of confidence in both of them.

A Religious War?

The Itorunt Informer has received word that the realms of Tuchanon V and Ubent have been looting and burning Triumvirate temples. We believe many of the followers of Dunkontology in Tuchanon have something to do with this. Some may remember that priests of Dunkontology had repeatedly preached without permission in Itorunt lands, directly contrary to our religious edict. When our judge contacted the Yssarian judge, they were claimed to be rogue priests that did not answer to the Yssarian government. However, surely one of the many followers of Dunkontology could have informed them of the edict, as, in fact, I believe our judge and several other nobles did. The Triumvirate saw fit to denounce their evil, lie-spreading ways. When questioned about the looting and burning of Triumvirate temples, Rackir, Dictator of Tuchanon V, claimed that "the burning of a temple was a mistake." How, exactly, can two realms "mistakenly" loot and burn down a temple? The concept is difficult to fathom. A noble priest of our own faith responded as follows:

I wonder what part was the mistake.

Did they mistakenly forget to give the torches to Ubent instead of wielding them themselves? Or did they mistakenly drop the torches while trudging through our holy place with their dirty feet?

Or is the mistake that they got caught and that everyone has seen their true face now?

Words well-spoken, indeed. In more recent news on another front, it seems Ibladesh is no more honorable than Tuchanon. We received word about 5 days ago that a certain Shuo Dnight was seen looting the temple of The Triumvirate in my very own region of Zawr. Zawr was being taken once again by Ibladesh - temporarily, of course, as usual - and this Shuo was stupid enough to attempt to provoke a holy war, it seems. They weren't very good allies, and it seems they're not too honorable as enemies, either.

It seems there's more to the story. Mordreth, a priest of the misguided fools of Dunkontology, has openly declared a holy war upon the followers of the Triumvirate, claiming our ways were "unholy" and "evil". This is evidenced in his letter, shown below:

Letter from Mordreth
Message sent to everyone in "Chivalric Knights" (26 recipients)
My brothers,

I may hold my peace no longer, though it saddens me to come to this. The depradations of the vile followers of The Triumvirate have too long conducted their unholy masses and practiced vile rites! I would call on all true knights to put their differences aside, and go on a blessed crusade against the vile spawn of Stallion.

Let there be no rest until they are struck down! Let none who spouts their heresies know peace! Let the wrath of The One guide your blades, and let his benevolent hand protect you from their harm! Bring their leaders to justice, and let their lands know the benevolence of The One as we know it!

Deus Lo Vult, God wills it!

Sir Mordreth Domitoris (Priest of Dunkontology)

Only uneducated simpletons would be so foolish as to directly oppose the Triumvirate. May Aulysia bless our blades as we strike down the misguided idiots that practice Dunkontology.
