Mourners for the Dead

After the funeral of the Archon Major, mourners paid their respects.

Letter from Yosef Ishimu

Lady Cimiko,

May I convey my condolences. Whilst I do not claim to know or even have met His Holiness, it is nonetheless rather sad to hear of the loss of one so young.

Yosef Ishimu (Knight of Azzal)

Roleplay from Armstrong Ironsides

As the Hero of Democracy prepared his things for the trek back to Krimml, a messenger arrived with a black envelope.

Lord Armstrong opened it and read its contents. He grieved when he finished.

"My younger brother has died of pneumonia! Damn the cursed frailty of life!...the poor boy was only 23, he had a family and a successful career. The flesh is weak...let no one think they are invulnerable to pain, impervious to death. Though I the hero should meet death, my brother the theologian makes his acquaintance first. I can only think that wherever his life is now he is in peace. I should write to his wife and children."

He returned to his desk and prepared parchment and ink.

"Dear my sister Cimiko, our loss is harder to bear than anything else imaginable. Your poor husband was still young, and vibrant..."

In Mourning,

Hero of Democracy,

Armstrong Ironsides (Lord)

The Dark Count sat in his office twiddling his fingers when a messenger arrived with a black envelope.

Bowie opened it curiously. His face went cold when he read it.

"So it is finished. My younger brother is dead. The poor sap wasted his time with books and hokey sermons. He should have lived more, done more, fought more, screwed more, and done all the things a man should do before something like this steals him."

He put his head in his hands. After a moment he said,

"Wait until Armstrong hears this, he is going to be in tears like a bubbling baby. I guess I should write to the family to pay my respects. Scribe get out a piece of paper and take a letter."

The scribe did,

"Dear mournful Cimiko, you have lossed a loved one, as have I. But we should remember in times like this that though our hearts have been punctured by death, we still remain in life. Live your life Cimiko, take the kids on a fantastic new adventure. Do not let them waste theirs like Hades did on worthless spiritual junk. Live...."

And he continued like that....

Roleplay from Kealan Emarama

Message sent to all full members of "The Way of the Warrior Saints" (24 recipients)

News came to Kealan as he journeyed home from the latest battlefield. He had not imagined that Hades could die such a way. The man had such energy and was so full of life. Upon his return, Kealan was to send his best healers to help watch over the recovery of Priest Hades, but it seems that the saints wanted him swiftly to join them. This was a struggle to comprehend as Hades clearly had so much ahead of him to accomplish and he had all the attributes and abilities to accomplish them with.

Instead, Kealan wrote a personal note without the use of a scribe and had it sent to Lady Cimiko.

Dear Lady Cimiko, Priest Hades was a major member of our faith and justly so, for he lived and breathed the faith. His loss will be sorely felt by all of us and our lives will be less without him in them.

My heart goes out to you and if there is anything we can do, please do let me know and I shall do what I can to help.

SIGNED : A humble member of the faith of the Warrior Saints,

Kealan Emarama

Count of Melias

Baron of Dunstoke, Marshal of the First Ithillian Dragoons
