Instantaneous Message Petition

From BattleMaster Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Tom is thinking of making messages sent in-game no longer arrive instantly, but delayed depending on how far away the recipient is. Many of us feel this would affect the game fundamentally and profoundly negatively.

We are fully against the proposal, and would be pushed to the brink of leaving the game if it were implemented.

N.B. This page is breaking when it is edited by too many people at once... Please, use the show preview option so we don't have to restore old versions with less signatures/reasons.

I've moved the reasons to Instantaneous_Message_Petition/Reasons. Please feel free to post reasons and discussion there. -- Anaris 2 May 2006 22:23 (CEST)

You can stop this nonsense. I'm open to arguments. Not to lists of names. --Tom 2 May 2006 23:57 (CEST)
And yes, it is nonsense at this stage. No matter what some individuals on the mailing list talk about, where have I commited to the precise details? None of you know what you're talking about, because I don't yet know, either. It's a rough idea that's being discussed on the mailing list, that's all. I've seldom done major changes without thinking them through. So chill, ok? --Tom 3 May 2006 00:01 (CEST)
We're mainly worried because you haven't said anything remotely like this on the list, despite the reams and reams other people have written on the subject. The only things we've heard from you seemed to boil down to, "Hmm, that's an interesting idea. I might try it." That, plus your recent abrupt changes going straight into live, have made us all more than a little wary. We don't mean to be alarmist, we just don't know what you think about the whole thing, so we try to extrapolate from what we've heard. Sorry. And thanks for putting our minds at least somewhat at rest. -- Anaris 3 May 2006 00:24 (CEST)
