Brother Alejandro

The most responsible and courtly of the Sons of Bufort, Alejandro was a serious warrior, in the service of Silnaria, but in his adulthood has returned to the church of his Galantos forebears, the Way of the Warrior Saints.

A devoted servant to his faith, and his liege, Alejandro dreams only of glory, and remembers most fondly the spilling of enemy blood on the salted earth.

History

Alejandro began his adulthood as a Knight of Silnaria. After succumbing to the call of the Church, he served as Duke of the Silver Lake, and Earl of Elroth. He was constantly furious at the subjects in these lands who did not follow the Way of the Saints, and secretly resented the laws of Silnaria that prevented him from putting those blasphemers to the Rack.

He also served Silnaria as the Realm's banker (a position he took most seriously, poring over numbers and graphs, and rattling a rusty abacus nightly) and Kitchen Staff Supervisor, which he approached with the utmost gravity.

Seeing Silnaria's end on the inevitable horizon at the hands of Minas Leon, Alejandro sought refuge in those enemy lands, as they seemed the most pious, and most dedicated to the Holy Way. He pledged loyalty to his once-enemies, and salved the guilt over this betrayal of loyalties with many a hairshirt and flagellation.

He was, after a time, returned to his Lordship of Elroth.

During a time of political unrest among the Leonians, Alejandro was made High Justiciar by the interim Elected King Titus. When the unseated Raoul rebelled and reclaimed the throne, Alejandro was branded a traitor. He traveled to Rieleston, the lands of his House Galantos forebears, who were lord in Eston of Old.

He is now the Senator of Hernepoole.

Alejandro was once the bearer of the MYSTERIOUS BUCKLER (prestige +5), an item that he assumed had been blessed by Saint Hammett, patron of mysteries. It fell apart in disarray, and he kept the remnants in a small reliquary.
