Battle in Dald

May 7

The Heenite Army, now split into three separate Duchal armies, had made its way back to aid Sint in their war against Ashborn. Late in the evening on the 6th May, Queen Martana announced Dald to be the next destination of the army. Setting off late in the night, the troop leaders of Heen marched their units from Daisha towards Dald.

Joan had arrived too soon, but had successfully managed to hurt a couple of Sintian/Old Grekhian nobles lurking in her path. The rest of the army, including Martana arrived much later...only to realise that the troops of Ashborn had been ordered to leave their walls and march to assault Dald.

With the Heenites commanding the battlefield, and Celia, the Marshall of the Heenite Hawks taking command of the battle, the result was nothing of a surprise. With the 186 cavalry charging from the back of the field, the nobles of Ashborn could be seen fleeing even before the camels had reached the front line - i guess they do smell a little!

Needless to say, it was another glorious victory for the Heenites. The full battle report can be found on the following insert: Battle in Dald.

Defence of Reeds

May 26

The evening of the 25th May saw a cry from the walls of the city of Reeds, Capital of Vlaanderen, that the enemy had been sighted. Plergoth were approaching from Haffemet, and Mesh from Bajit. A number of siege engines could be seen in the distance, and a large number of soldiers pushing them. The scouts high up in the towers estimated the enemy to arrive in the morning, and probably assault the castle straight away to catch us off guard.

Immediately, the General of Vlaanderen issued orders, and Marshall told their troops. The Fortification is strong, and would take a lot of force to beat. Especially with the aid of the Heenite soldiers. Mesh and Plergoth definitely had the bigger number of soldiers, but the fortification should hold strong.

As the dawn broke, the enemy were closer than expected; their engines almost at the stone of the walls. The city of Reeds was about to face a major onslaught. As the defenders lined themselves up on the barricades, the four Heenite cavalry units warmed up inside the walls. The trumpets sounded as the ladders breached the walls, and the battle begun. Arrows flew over the heads of the soldiers lining the battlements as they reloaded to rain death down upon the enemy.

The last thing this editor remembers is a cavalry charge sweeping the walls of the stronghold, destroying anything in their path until something hit the side of his head with some force. The next thing, he was waking up in a healers tent to the sound of his Queen arguing with the healer. The full battle report can there force be seen at: Defence of Reeds.
