Celtic Order Grows!

05 January 1008 Thrydwulf
The Celtic Order, a guild started in Sotrebar, Heen has grown quickly since the late King Erin engineered the first guildhouse to be built in the badlands surrounding the Heenite Desert.

Two more were quickly build by two of the first members of the guild in the regions of Kif and Latlan. Today, the fourth guildhouse for the order finished its construction in the Capital city of Heen.

Not long after, a surge of freemen joined up at various guildhouses across the desert regions, and it was announced by the scribes in Sotrebar that the guild had grown to as many as 25 members! There was great cause for celebration, although it also caused some frowns upon the faces of the clerics as they realised the work they'd have to put in to keep tab of everyone.

Another notable member to join the guild, is the High Priest Amekal of the Qyrvaggism order. Having travelled all the way from Irombrozia, he has come to visit his student Plagueis and help him to convert some of the peasants of the desert to their order.

This comes at a good time, as there have been many rumours of Daimon Worshipers and even priests in regions all across the continent.

The Celtic Order hopes that the guild will continue to spread throughout the continent, though we still await the first non-Heenite guildhouse to be built. In these times of peril and purgatory, it is events like this that are needed to warm the hearts of those who feel oppressed in the darkness of the invasion.

Region Troubles

10 January 1008 Thrydwulf
This article follows on from the news reported in Decembers (late edition) paper, which gives the reasons for drops in region morale and loyalty all over the realm.

After almost a month of struggling to control regions, almost every one of them has been restored to former levels. There are two regions which continue to cause problems though. Apokh especially was hit particularly bad for many reasons, and is only just beginning to get back on its feet. Watto being the other region is not as bad, but still needs lots of work to keep it running smoothly.

With the amount of police work and courts held in Apokh since the civil war it's a wonder the people aren't brainwashed yet...

Missing Malfeasant

12 January 1008 Thrydwulf
As an advance party of the Celtic Army (Beatrice and Fror) arrived in Tor the other day they were unlucky enough to bump into a Daimon Leader - Malfeasant. As it happens, some local peasants attempted to take up arms against the nobles, and instead ended up being destroyed by the Daimons. Malfeasant then moved into Watto late in the evening, catching many Heenites out, and turned South towards Mesh where he currently lies defeated in battle in Mokut.

Tournament in Reeds

13 January 1008 Jadine
Another tournament in Reeds was declared after an uneasy period on Beluaterra. Several portals have been closed since the last time nobles met up for jousting and sword fighting and general merriment, and it seems like the invasion may be coming to an end finally.

Altogether, 8 nobles of Heen made the short journey to Reeds, with Celia DoubleEdge, Jadine Baraedor, and Thrydwulf Grancourt among them, however, on the journey back there were 9 nobles, as Victor Valentine had become a knight under Celia of Heen City. The nobles of Heen went into the tournament with high hopes, boasting a potential champion of the sword in Thyk Whiteblood, and a potential champion of the lance in Thrydwulf, although there was stiff competition in both fields.

The sword fighting went very badly for the Heenites, with only Jadine Baraedor making it past the second round.

She went on to make it to the quarter finals where she was defeated by Dorgon, two rounds further than any other Heenite. Jagreen from Avalon took the first prize, beating Dorgon of Sint into second place.

The jousting went slightly better for Heenites, with Jadine Baraedor reaching the quarter finals again, to be defeated by Beloth the reigning champion from the last tournament in Reeds, and Celia DoubleEdge reaching the semi-finals, also to be defeated by Beloth of Enweil. He continued to show his dominance of the jousting in Beluaterra, beating Suzy from Sint into second place. Such is the dominance of Beloth, that only two points have been scored against him in the last two tournaments.

So no winner from Heen in this tournament, but it will certainly happen soon. The full tournament report can be found here: Tournament in Reeds

Rogue Undead in Watto

14 January 1008 Thrydwulf
As many of the Heenites returned from the tournament in Reeds, reports came flooding in that Undead had been spotted in Watto. It had been a while since any undead had been seen around the realm of Heen. Quite disappointing really, what with the head of Hannibal having finally decayed to an unrecognisable mass outside the city of Heen.

There were plenty of soldiers around to deal with the undead, as can be seen from the report to the right. On top of some rogue undead, a Daimon Priest has been spotted in Watto. Attempts to take out the being have as yet been unsuccessful, and the latest reports show he has moved on to Kraake to join Malfeasant.

Battle Report

14 January 1008 Thrydwulf
The Heenites lined up along the front of the battlefield. Infantry in tight box formation to reduce casualties, with a strong Cavalry force waiting for the perfect moment to charge. With almost perfect lines, the soldiers charged into the mass of undead, almost defeating them in one fell swoop. A brief scuffle followed the initial charge, and before the Cavalry arrived, all the undead were hacked to pieces. The full report is here: Undead in Watto

Attempting to Take Over Tor - From a soldier's point of view

21 January 1008 Fror
The day had started out well, Jonah Dregal loyal cavalry rider of Fror Dwarf, Duke of Latlan, was resting on a bank in Tor. Watching as several peasants were running around in panic. Heen had arrived several days ago and was now initiating a hostile takeover of this out lying region. The locals disliked them immensely but soon they would realize being ruled over by Heen was better than living in fear of the others. "Get up you lazy cur" Jonah heard someone shout behind him and he shot up onto his feet and turned to salute, it was his captain, Captain Hildemund. "Sir, i was just resting, sir" Jonah struggled to respond. "There is no time to rest soldier, we have peasants to whip into shape, while our rulers sort out the local leaders, we are to deal with the peasantry, now get moving, i can still see locals who rebel against our rule" Captain Hildemund stomped off after that, Jonah was shocked, but understood what needed to be done. Gathering up several of his unit, they traveled over to another settlement that had yet been undisturbed by the Heenite men. Jonah got down from his mount and led his small group into the houses situated in the open meadow. Routing out all the locals, they gathered them in the settlement centre and started the ritual of establishing Heenite rule. One of Jonah's unit, a man named Logan began reading the rights of all Heenite commoners to the gathered men and women. At this point Jonah's mind started to wander, this had been interesting to see at the first several settlements, but the same thing happened over and over again. There was the odd settlement who would try to fight, but they would be quickly put down by the trained men of the Heenite army.

Regaining Control

21 January 1008 Thrydwulf
After 3 long days of sitting in Tor, twiddling thumbs and flexing muscles while the peasants ran around pretending to be able to look after themselves, they finally gave up and decided that they would infact join Heen after all. Tor first joined Heen during the destruction of Ashborn, when the Lord at the time transferred his allegience to Tahgalez. At the same time, or thereabouts Iknopata and Ren Madragas also switched to Heen, and due to lack of food, knights and army in the area (as it was helping Mesh), all three regions were lost. Now however, the peasants have decided that they would be far better off under Heenite rule, after seeing our willingness to persuade them during the Take Over. While some force was used to persuade the various heads of villages, most of the peasants wanted something better than they were getting. Most of them hadn't been working, none of them had gold or food, and when Heen promised to supply them with both it took little time for them to say yes. Heen hopes to keep hold of Tor for longer this time.
