The Code of Nobility

A guide to noblelike behaviour, composed by Medium Steele, Judge of Heen.

Heen is a realm full of nobles, who stand above the rank of a commoner on many areas. One of those areas is behaviour. Where a commoner might curse and use foul language, a noble may not. Expressing an opinion or thought is allowed, as long as it happens according to the rules of the Code:

  • The usage of foul words, curses or other vulgar words is strictly forbidden.
  • Nobles show respect towards each other and should verbally compete each other with words based on facts and not attack each other based on emotions and feelings of hate.
  • The memory of fallen heroes is sensitive, any form of mocking of it is a show of deep disrespect towards them and as such is against the Code of Nobility.

Any recipient of a message may press charge on the sender of the message in question if he finds that the sender has broken the Code of Nobility in the message in question. If the Judge is one of the recipients, he can press charge as well. The sender of the message will be given the option to justify his words, and after that the Judge will conclude if the sender should be punished or not. A limit case may result in a reprimand and a warning.

Punishments:

  • First infraction: a fine of 25 gold.
  • Second infraction: a fine of 50 gold and a warning for a banishment.
  • Third infraction: banishment from Heen.

If a noble has been found guilty of breaking the Code of Nobility three times, he has proven to lack the required noblelike behaviour to be a noble of Heen. Therefore, banishment from the nobility of Heen is justified.
