This never caught on, and the guildhouse is destroyed now. I keep this page, in case I start again someday. vonGenf

The Akanos Kontor, founding Kontor of the Hansa

Founded in Akanos by Senator Joseph von Genf, the Hansa is a trading guild to encourage trade between the regions of the Far East Island and simplify communication between buyers, sellers and traders who are its members.

Kontors

Each Kontor has the vocation to serve as a depot for trading goods and as banking centers. Kontor Masters will always accept to hold food or gold in the name of the member of the guild and to transfer it to another member of the guild, in exchange for a fee of at most 5% of the value deposited. Kontor Masters are not obligated to do anything with what has been put to their guard; in particular, they will not move food themselves and will not be obligated to actions which requires their presence at any given point.

Kontor Masters are also encouraged to serve as bankers; to lend money and finance expeditions.

Kontor Masters do not pay a fee but are responsible for their own Kontor.

Akanos Kontor

The first Kontor is run by Senator Joseph von Genf of Akanos.

Traders

Traders are encouraged to join the guild and take the rank of Recognized Trader. In exchange for a monthly fee, they will have access to the service of all Kontors and the pigeon carrier service of the Hansa.

All traders are obligated to respect all contracts. A recognized trader who promises something and does not deliver will be demoted to Unrecognized Trader and will pay double fee for a month during which they will not have access to Kontor services. A trader who willfully defrauds a client will be expelled and the Hansa will put a price on his head. Membership in the Hansa is a serious commitment.

Buyers and Sellers

Region Lords and Bankers looking to buy or sell food or other materials are welcome to become member of the Hansa. Their fees are waived. They can freely use the pigeon carrier service to communicate with Traders. They are obligated to respect the terms of their contracts under the same terms as the Traders.

Contract Supervision

All contracts signed should be forwarded in triplicata to the Hansa Elders as soon as signed and /before/ the action dictated by the contract is taken, unless of course the contract execution is immediate. It is only in this way that the Elders will be able to enforce contracts.

Applicants

Applicants are encouraged to choose a category of membership as soon as possible.
