The Hagakure Family

The Hagakure family, Originally from Pucallpa (East Continent) is a family of nobles who earned their money in the sheep and farming trade. The head of the family Naoshige married the lady Kannon and produced two children Mathros and Xena.

The Hagakure family was brought into disrepute early in Naoshige's life when he fathered an illegitimate son known as Yamamoto who was exiled across the sea. This was before his marriage to Kannon and the affair is not to be discussed.

Early Years

Mathros and Xena were originally both knights under Murphy Guardians the lord of Kazan and General of the Sultanate of Asena. When David Iron Heart stepped down as ruler of Asena Murphy ascended to the throne and Mathros became the baron of Kazan. [2011-03-05]

Murphy shortly died of a serious stroke and Asena was plunged into a series of rulers and bad luck; Alparson who was seriously ill and was unable to attend to his duties and Leandros Galvez who was killed in battle. This was a great blow to Mathros' hopes for Asena as Leandros was the first ruler that he felt had really taken Asena in the right direction. After this moment Mathros and also to some extent Xena began to become disillusioned with the realm as a whole. During the first few weeks of the reign of Tenya Vasata the general at that time Ghengis D'han was imprisoned in Stora by the Obsidion islanders. During this time Mathros was elected with a strong majority as General 2011-05-02 . However trouble in the realm made it increasingly difficult for him to do this job and he soon abandoned it and the realm. The Obsidion Islanders during this time took Kazan and a Sirion force had invaded Gadlock. Mathros was having trouble getting enough combat strength to fight these armies and the discipline necessary to move the armies when appropriate. After little more than a week Mathros stepped down from this position and decided to leave Asena along with his sister a decision greatly disliked [understandably] by the realm.

On the road Xena and Mathros parted company in Bruck wishing each other the best of luck as they felt their destinies lay in other realms. Mathros decided to join Westmoor while Xena opted to travel south and join the realm of Perdan.

Mathros' first post in Westmoor was as knight of Evora.

Naoshige withdrew his support from Xena saying he had no respect for a daughter who joined an enemy of his homeland and his conversations in letter with Mathros have been known to be brief whom he felt should not have abandoned his post. Naoshige dislikes both Mathros and Xena for leaving the Sultanate and has slightly warmer feelings for the newcomer to the family Lance - although Naoshige dislikes almost everyone.

Mathros

Upon joining Westmoor Mathros secured a position as knight of Evora. However this all ended with the invasion of Evora by Caligus a week or so later. During this time Westmoor was under great strain as Sirion, Fontan and Caligun armies were all present on the borders seemingly ready to march straight into the heart of Westmoor. It was during this time that the king of Westmoor Flaylen was removed from power and Mathros was made a knight of Oligarch. At this time he started the printing of a newspaper named New westmoor which he is editor of currently.

Evora has since been retaken by Westmoor and the armies of Sirion and Caligus withdrew. Fontan was kicked out of Greatbridge by the westmoorian column all of which has been documented in the paper.

Xena

Xena Hagakure was involved in numerous battles in the south controlling mainly archers against Ibladesh. Due to having no current religion Xena felt unable to loot the temples of Ibladesh while in those lands unlike her comrades. This worked against her which meant she was unable to pay her men who deserted. On the way back to Partora Xena decided that soldiers were mere cowards who worked for nothing less than shiny pieces of metal. It was in this moment that she decided to become a warrior princess of infiltration. Soon after this she assaulted a knight of Ibladesh was caught and thrown into prison expelled and banned from Ibladesh. She has now learned her lesson and then underwent training in Partora.

She was shortly promoted to Vice Marshal of Perdan's lethal Panthers, and then quickly Marshal of the Perdan's lethal Panthers (being the only remaining member in it) hence the current nickname one woman army. Xena updates the standing orders dayly.

After being caught trying to stab a noble of Ibladesh, Xena was caught and shipped off to Atamara by the judge Robert Galvez a relation of Leandros mentioned above. In Atamara she joined the Cagilan empire and waged a war on hunger by burning food in Carelia. When she was captured and banned Xena under went some training in the capitol before moving up north to wage war on hunger in Darka. It was here that she was most recently stabbed, twice by another unknown infiltrator who was probably jelous or something. Having patched herself up with her bra she's now considering her next moves.

Lance

Lance was not a noble by birth and in fact was the son of unknown parentage. A driven man Lance worked his way up in the armies of Sultante of Asena until he finaly served as captain under a number of different nobles. After being almost killed in battle Lance was sent home to Pullcapa to recover from his wounds. It was there that he managed eventualy to obtain work in Naoshige's household. Gaining the old man's trust Naoshige declared him part of his family claiming he was the son he never had.

Naoshige felt unable to start Lance a career in the Sultanate as he was not of noble birth so he sent him instead south to the sultanate's ally Ibladesh. Lance became a knight of the city of Semal (after a long search for a liege as Ibladesh at that time had many nobles). The war for Ibladesh went very badly particuarly after Westmoor withdrew from the conflict.

In December 1011 (According to New Westmoor paper) Eponllyn a new realm ceded from Ibladesh through the duchy of Semal. Lance being a knight of Semal was taken with the ceding origionally with mixed feelings.

As many positions were up for the taking Lance requested and successfully obtained the position of treasurer [2011-12-08]. This job was far more demanding than he had expected. as Eponllyn it seems was to become the major food market of the south with interest in buying bushels coming from as far away as the Obsidian islands. The south west planes were particuarly rich agriculturally. In return for the region of Ejarr Puutl passing from the new realm of Armonia (also formerly part of Ibladesh) into Eponllyn's hands a trade agreement to sell to Armonia for a very low price (18 gold per 100 Bushels) was arranged by Lance and Eponllyn's first Queen Siana Deytheur. During Lance's relatively short tenure (ended on 2012-04-18) as treasurer a large number of deals were conducted between Armonia and Eponllyn.

Lance's tenure as treasurer ended due to Perdan's king ]/[osferatu Reapers giving permission for Eponllyn to claim the rogue city of Al Arab. Although he asked for the position it was originally give to Palidor Arrakis. Perdan's king was unhappy with this (due to the Arrakis family having a former Pontifex of Ibladesh) and threatened Eponllyn with war if Palidor was not removed from the realm. Palidor agreed to step down and left the realm on a ship to Suville on Dwilight. Lance then requested the seat again and permission was given providing he step down from the position of Treasurer. Lance agreed to this and shortly after became duke [2012-04-20] of Al Arab still at the tender age of only 22 - a considerable climb from a man who three years ago was a common soldier in the Sultanate of Asena.
