Godfrey's first "social" meeting with nobles of Obia'Syela in the estate of Countess Saoirse MacArbin, in Glongin. Attendees included Margrave Godfrey Greybrook, Vice Marshal Ulrich Reisläufer, Grand Master Marcus Daubeny, Sir Jheda Orobar & Countess Saoirse MacArbin (so far...)

Roleplay from Godfrey Greybrook
Finding fresh recruits to join the Heraldrim Watch was something Godfrey had grown to look forward to. While it was not always the duty of a noble, knowing the men and women you fight with is something that was installed in him by his teachers. Going to the Grehk barracks and other posts of gathering soldiers from across the Theocracy was pivotal to understand the discipline of the soldiers hired, how they acted pending subscription provided an idea of how they acted in campaign, or if they could be trained at all. While going mid afternoon was not ideal, in his pocket he had red paper that told him haste was necessary. It was only a week ago that Godfrey finally found a captain whom was prepared to serve and advise him. She commanded not only the soldiers, their diligence of faith but their eye as well, something which even Godfrey could not ignore. Most of all, the knight felt he could trust Captain Diana, which is what he needed the most.

While recruiting the latest Watchmen for the unit with the newly minted Captain, Godfrey was interrupted by a child courtier, no more than 4 foot in height whom was dressed in regal clothes that were more suitable for royal page. Without being able to thank the child, he vanished from sight without ushering a word as the red sand rose in the trail behind him. Coughing with the influx of dirt and other gravel, Godfrey tentatively opened the regal letter, sealed by the Duke of Amen Iron.

Appointed as Lord Divus Lancaster, Duke of Amen Iron, Count of Cagamir has appointed you as the new lord of Avengmil.

Godfrey was stunned as he re-read the letter multiple times as the sand rose and fell with the movements of peasants and soldiers alike in the district with the sun beginning to set. All nobles of Obia'Syela were aware that the Grand Master had selected two nobles to be recommended for the positions in Avengmil and Bolkenia. When the offer came, Godfrey was honoured. Yet, when he dwelt on it, there was a issue he didn't want to address. Did he impress the Grand Master that much? Did he deserve the region? Was he ready at only 17? The worst question that he dwelt on was whether it was his cousins merits that owed greater weight than his own.

Perhaps.

His mother would of told him to be proud of any recognition. Meanwhile, his father would recommend to be humble and justify one's trust in a Greybrook, just like his cousin. It is probably what Ferdinand worked so hard to achieve here.

These thoughts Godfrey took with him to Glongin where he was to be garrisoned with army, awaiting another fateful battle in the cursed Glongin region, thinking how other nobles may treat him now...
Godfrey Greybrook

Roleplay from Ulrich Reisläufer
"By the Holy Mother's silken veil, does anyone on that blasted island know how to light a funeral pyre?!? It's hardly the arcane depths of alchemy - stack wood, toss a corpse or several on top, and light the damnable tinder!"

"Yes, Sir. Er, no, Sir. I mean yes, Sir. I mean..."

Ulrich waved his valet to silence. "Rhetorical devices, Eptor. Less actual questions, more something to yell to express frustration." He scowled at the latest reports from Cjelegy, a land he'd personally watch be swept clean of undead not two nights past. "Over a hundred more, Eptor. A hundred. More. Is there any reason, in either this Sacred Heaven of Obeah or in her very literal one, why the peasants are not burning the dead before they take it upon themselves to stand back up?"

"I do not know, Sir. Seems a right fine idea, Sir."

"Bah." Tossing the report down on his bedroll, the young knight strode for his tent flap. "Where are they coming from? Is the whole of the Atholian Mane overrun with beasts and corpses? Our farmlands continue to burn, and here we sit, Eptor. Stuck along this all too physical front for another entire week, while nothing seems to happen on the peace negotiations front. Ah, but we have time to raise and land gentry who just landed here well after the peace talks were supposed to be taking place. Feh." Ulrich spat at the ground just outside, while he paused at the tent opening. "Our Holy Protector must be rolling her eyes at our inaction, unless there's far more happening than I may be privy to."

This time, Eptor remained silent, simply blinking instead. Ulrich glanced at the commoner, and gave him a wry smirk beneath his own unblinking eyes. "Just frustration, Eptor. These repeated incursions feel like trying to dig a hole in seawater." He heaved a sigh. "Likely, a test of patience from Obeah Herself, which I am not passing spectacularly well." Abruptly, he clapped his hands together. "So. The Phalanx is returned to Glongin, and it seems there is little in the way of civil work or repairs left for them to handle. Have the camp watched in shifts. I believe I may take up the Countess Glongin on her offer for a visit."

"Of course, Sir. At once."

"Excellent, excellent. Leave word of where to find me as well, should anyone have business with me. And Eptor..."

"Yes, Sir?"

"...please don't hit the beer terribly hard with the other servants."

"...yes, Sir."

With that, Ulrich headed out of the tent and through the small encampment of the Phalanx of the Dawn, sending a messenger darting ahead towards the Countess Glongin's estate. Almost as an afterthought, he sent a second messenger as well, to the camp of the Heraldrim Watch and its commander the Margrave Avengmil. Perhaps the new lord meeting one who'd known his cousin well might help with whatever had troubled him enough to do what he'd been rumored to have done along that creek.
Ulrich Reisläufer

Roleplay from Godfrey Greybrook
Godfrey had only arrived in Glongin when the unfortunate reminder of the incident down south came to bear. While he knew he blamed his immaturity, nothing should be taken for granted, especially life. Was it the blood lust from the battle before or a pitiful excuse to see the power of a noble over the peasantry? He was not going to ever answer these, but he knew that Glongin was a cursed place, at least to the Greybrook family.

The letter came through again from the Vice-Marshal by way of courier, who seemed to be having better days out in the military encampment. The older man whom was covered in mud seemed not to be embarrassed by his attire, as he should be. After reading the open invitation to meet his fellow Countess, Vice Marshal and other nobles potentially, the Lord of Avengmil broke out into a cold sweat as thoughts raced through his mind.

Why would these two nobles want to see him? Did he do something wrong? Yes, absolutely. It had to be about the peasants, but why did they care? They were peasants?

After a while, the pacing back and forth in the tent finally bore reason as he donned his cloak and travelled to the estate of the Countess, appearances must be met after all, even if it was in a bad light.
Godfrey Greybrook

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
Marcus stood from his desk, the letter was taken by a scribe to be sent to the realm, Marcus left his study and entered his bedroom, there he changed into his armour, he briskly left the palace, mounting his horse and riding out for Glongin.

To hell with waiting around doing nothing, by Obeah he needed to see his people, not be cooped up and shown off like a trophy.

He would ride hard and fast and quickly reach to encampment of the Sapphire Flame, as he entered the camp many looked surprised they hadn't expected the Grand master to show up unannounced, a runner set off into the camp letting everyone he saw know Marcus was here.

Marcus grumbled, so much for incognito, he rode through the camp, he was hoping to find Vahanian to see how the men were doing, though he would settle for anyone but a minor noble in a powdered wig and a piglike face, he had seen more then enough of those in Grehk.

By Obeah he needed a drink.
Marcus Daubeny

Roleplay from Ulrich Reisläufer
Ulrich actually saw little of the section of the Glongin encampment he walked through, on the way to the Countess' estate. Most of his attention was inward, turning the contents of the various military reports over and over in his mind - Rines still going hungry, huge bands of undead reappearing scant moments after being dispatched to keep laying waste to the fields that should be feeding the Holy Mother's believers, Nova remaining on the borders, and even the general malaise infecting the soldiers of the Sapphire Flame that had even led some to ask to go hunt the dead. At least two of those I can do something about at the same time. Though what actual good it will do, I can't say. Digging holes in seawater, dealing with the damned. I'll assemble another foray to preserve the fields of Cjelegy.

So lost in such thoughts he was that it took the general cacophony of the arrival of the Grand Master himself at the camp to snap him back into the present moment. Already out in the open as he was with his tiny entourage, the young knight arranged himself in the proper obeisances, while Eptor and the other servants executed to perfection the "bland deference fading into the background" art most servants learned very early in their careers.

"August Grand Master, an unexpected pleasure. I fear we have not yet met in person, merely in letters. I am Ulrich Reisläufer, at present a Vice-Marshal of the Sapphire Flame, at your service and that of Obeah Herself. I had just been on my way to meet with the Countess Glongin and several others at her estate, including the Margrave Avengmil. Such a venue may be better suited for any matters of import that may need discussion?"
Ulrich Reisläufer

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
Marcus rode through the camp for a bit a few moments before he ran across Sir Ulrich, Marcus offered a smile to the vice marshal “I believe you are right, a nobles estate is more appropriate then a military camp”

Marcus dismounted his horse, handing the reins of to a nearby stable boy “Treat him well, he rode hard to get me here”

He smiled a deposited two gold coins in the boy’s hands.

With that Marcus turned back to Sir Ulrich, Marcus walked over and offered his hand “Do forgive my manners, I must say it is a pleasure to meet you Sir Ulrich, to see the face behind the letters.

Marcus hopes his appearance didn’t bother the young knight, after his resurrection Marcus did look rather unusual, primarily his now violet eyes and white hair, and near corpse like pale skin.

He knew many people back in Grehk still muttered Zombie when he walked past.

Marcus shook that thought train from his brain “Sir Ulrich if I may, would I be able to walk with you to the estate, I need to stretch my legs”
Marcus Daubeny

Roleplay from Ulrich Reisläufer
The Grand Master's appearance was more than sufficient to prove true the rumors Ulrich had heard, in the letters from the Countess Glongin during the recent election and elsewhere, that the successor to Ferdinand Greybrook had indeed been restored from the grave. He did, at least, look significantly better than the shambling corpses the Sapphire Flame had recently put down, and Ulrich himself had little room to pass judgment on appearances - what with his own whipcord-thin frame, hatchetlike features, seemingly lidless eyes, and still-bright scar puckering the full length of his cheek. And mine aren't even the tangible signs of Her own blessing, magically restored life. He fielded the Grand Master's request without even the slightest of pauses.

"It would be my honour to serve as your escort, Grand Master. If you would follow me?" The young knight kept up a steady stream of commentary on the state and readiness of various military units and defensive perimeters as they passed by, until the gates of the estate loomed nigh - a small knot already standing at them a tacit announcement that another was present. Judging from the colours, the new Margrave Avengmil, Godfrey Greybrook.

"It seems we're not the first to arrive, Grand Master. Eptor!" Ulrich whistled sharply, the valet appearing at his side as if literally summoned from thin air. "Do run ahead and let them know the Grand Master himself has arrived."

"At once, Sir. Do I tell them you're here too?"

"I'm fair certain the colours on your surcoat will handle that task quite nicely, Eptor, but do as you feel the situation warrants."

"...we're serving a warrant, Sir?"

"....just tell them the Grand Master has arrived. And before we all get to the gate, Eptor."

The valet darted off, and Ulrich offered a smile to the ruler of all Obia'Syela. "Apologies, Grand Master. He means well."
Ulrich Reisläufer

Roleplay from Saoirse MacArbin
Saoirse paced frenetically. Her scribes, having become used to her ways, merely watched and waited.

"Court was a dismal failure. We already have more buildings than the remaining populace can use, police work is keeping everyone in line, everyone is happy enough, but no one trusts us. None of them would feel a thing if the Novan banner flew over Glongin tomorrow. It's like a nightmare that I cannot escape. What can I do...?"

A servant entered quietly.

"Countess, there is a herald at the gate, your guests have arrived, Margrave Godfrey and Vice-Marshal Ulrich...And the Grand Master himself."

Saoirse whipped around, her tightly wound energy springing in a new direction.

"Fantastic! Something I can do, at least, and maybe one of them will have an idea. The Grand Master will surely inspire everyone with his presence, if nothing else! Raised by the hand of Obeah herself, granted the authority to lead Her realm in the world, how could they not be? And...Greybrook."

She grew silent as she strode quickly through the halls, her secretary Tayla and a few others nearly running to keep up.

"This will be an interesting day..."

She burst into the entry hall, where her guests had been invited in. She looked little different than most of her guards clad in leathers, recently returned from patrol, save for a bronze circlet set with a single emerald proclaiming her position in Glongin. But her taut energy spoke of one just waiting for the right motion to spring into action.

"Vice-Marshal, good to see you again! Your Grace, congratulations again on your election, and welcome to Glongin! And Margrave...I was deeply grieved when I learned of Ferdinand's death. I owed him...A great deal, and if there is anything in my power to accomplish, you need but name it."

She looked hard into Godfrey's eyes, willing him to see that she meant every word, that these were not polite mouthings.
Saoirse MacArbin

Roleplay from Godfrey Greybrook
Godfrey trod reluctantly through the increasingly busy camp which was slowly getting ruined by mud. Generated from the high traffic of soldiers, carts and peasantry trying to sell their wares to the travellers, the Margrave finally exited the campsite to approach the Countess' estate. While Godfrey had yet to learn the art of politically correct statements, he had learnt to understand the reactions of people. Everywhere he looked, it was very clear to the Margrave that the peasantry simply did not trust Obia'Syela.

He didn't blame them.

The battle of Glongin, the looting occurred and a occupying military force would most likely make the people feel that they were subjected to the true enemy, despite Nova being the ones whom looted them. Isolated from the world around him as we walked down the pathway, it was only when a man of unknown origin shocked him out of his daydream him:

"Margrave Avengmil, the Grand Master and Vice Marshal wish to accompany you into the estate."

Nodding to the man, Godfrey turned to see the Vice Marshal and... what he presumed was the Grand Master. He had only engaged the ruler of Obia'Syela through letters. While he could deal with the near deathly skin tone, those violet eyes were disconcerting. With a bow as low as his chainmail would allow him, Godfrey tried to speak up:

"Grand Master and Vice Marshal Ulrich, I am glad that we could meet..."

The young lord couldn't finish his sentence before the servants ushered the party into Heraldshame and was greeted by the Countess. She was of similar age but full of energy compared to the uncomfortable Greybrook. Yet, the sincere words that she uttered held so much emotion and sincerity that Godfrey was unable to reply properly and fielded a light flush. Remembering the occasion and to speak to the Countess at a later date, Godfrey bowed slightly and kissed her signet ring as traditional custom:

"Thank you for hosting us Countess Saoirse and your thoughts. It means alot..."

Godfrey quickly departed from the interaction to allow the rest of the party to speak to their host, pondering how many gathered here were influenced by his cousin.
Godfrey Greybrook

Roleplay from Ulrich Reisläufer
The entryway looked more or less as Ulrich recalled from his first visit. Not that he'd expected much to be different following the recent Novan occupation, really - given the exposure of their true motives as naught but greed, of course they'd have left the estates themselves intact as they looted the rest of the countryside. The narrowed eyes and terse responses to any interaction on the part of the smallfolk bespoke a different sort of despoiling as well, the spreading of whatever spiritual plague had swept Lux Nova and guttered the flames of their faith so low. There was real hatred in the eyes of the commoners, despite all the efforts at restoration and reconstruction. A hatred that would likely require the rededication of the once-more-burned temple, as well as the ministrations of members of the priesthood, to even begin to address. Crucial and pressing for the nonce as military matters were, the true battlefield lay within the hearts, minds, and very souls of the people themselves, and that war was being lost in Glongin. His part was simply to ensure the integrity of the borders, to provide space for Obeah's more articulate servants to work their subtle magics of persuasion.

The young knight stayed fairly pensive and quiet, once reaching the gate and exchanging the expected formalities. There had been time for little more exchange with the Margrave Avengmil than a bow and forearm grip, ere they'd all been whisked through the gates and into the estate proper. Ulrich reflected briefly that the two of them, despite being nearly of an age, were almost entirely opposite - where Ulrich had taken his oaths to Sacred Obia'Syela full of the certainty and confidence only burning zeal could provide before being tempered by his defeat here in Glongin, forced to reevaluate his faith in light of harsh reality, Godfrey seemed less certain and more curious, more hungry for answers and a path to walk. Still, the young lord was quite responsive when called to march to protect the farmlands that fed the Holy Mother's sacred realm, and seemed to have genuine concerns for the situations facing it as well, which said much. As for the Grand Master, Ulrich had allowed his Grace some peace, assuming he'd heard more than enough of his droning regarding the overview of the region's defenses along the way. It took nearly no time for them to be escorted inside, in any event.

The Countess Glongin herself charged into the room with her usual energy, and in her usual style, a small tornado held barely in check by a leather shell. Ulrich returned her greeting with a bow and a thin smile.

"Countess, it is good to see you as well. Hopefully this gathering won't be cut quite as short as my first visit. How fare your valiant Sly Blades, are they recovered?"

Marcus had nodded and listened quietly, occasionally commenting on the report he was given by Sir Ulrich, he was glad things were well with the army.

They quickly reached the Estate of Countess MacArbin.

He saw a man in the colours of the Greybrook family, he assumed the man was Godfrey, before he could approach the man and speak Countess MacArbin came into the room full of energy, she greeted the three men.

Marcus offered a small bow “Thank you Countess MacArbin, I am glad to be back to Glongin, I was once Count of the region befor”

Marcus paused and momentarily lost his smile “Before the Battle in Avegmil”

Marcus looked off blankly for a moment, he thought back to that day, he shook his head and put a smile albeit a smaller one “Regardless it is good to see you, I haven’t seen you since well, since the Breakfast in Grehk not long after my resurrection”

Marcus then turned to Godfrey Greybrook, he looked into the man’s eyes for a moment, thinking of the right words to say “Your cousin was a good man, one the best I knew”

Marcus gave a reassuring smile “I know you’ll do your best, but never feel like you are his shadow”

Marcus nodded and turned so all three people were in his vision “Well then, Countess MacArbin, I heard they may be drinks?”

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
Whenever Jheda wasn't involved with military business, trying to figure out his next attempt at courting Lady Ellen or having a drink in peace, he could be found studying every piece of document about the Veiled Goddess he could get his hands on. Well, he did play with his dagger now and again, but that was to relieve stress obviously.

He was in the middle of one such ancient document when he made a discovery. What he found was important news to one of his old friends, he needed to tell him immediately. Jheda stepped outside his tent. Surprised by the bright sunlight, he blinked to adjust his eyesight. When he could see again, he noticed there was some kind of turmoil at the camp. Asking a nearby soldier, he learned the Grandmaster had arrived, but was already leaving again. He was headed towards the estate of Lady Saoirse, in the company of several Nobles. That was excellent news, just the man he needed. Looked like he was going to pay them a visit.

Some time and a speedy horse ride later, he arrived at Heraldshame. Jheda looked around for a servant to bring him to the room where the nobility had gathered. The guards had noticed him, but correctly judged him to be a Noble commander. He did still wear the Farseer Insignia on his shoulder, although the army officialy didn't exist anymore. It helped him get into places others couldn't.

After walking through several hallways, Jheda spotted the man he was looking for. "Marcus, my old friend, how are...," Jheda started, but while entering the room, he noticed more people were inside. "Oh. Excuse me, I did not mean to intrude." Jheda gracefully bowed to the Lady of Glongin, wearing a bronze circlet with an eyecatching emerald, symbol of her position. He then politely nodded towards the men present. Not many familiar faces amongst them. "Lady Saoirse, a pleasure to meet you. Grandmaster, gentlemen, good day to you all. Please, carry on. Do not mind me, I will have my say later on." Jheda tried to make eyecontact with Marcus, so he would know he wanted to talk to him.

Marcus heard a familiar voice, one he hadn’t heard in a long time, Marcus smiled brightly and turned around, he saw Jheda “Jheda, my friend, it’s been a long time” Marcus strode over and embraced Jheda, softly he spoke “I missed you Brother”

Marcus released his embrace as not to cause to great a scene.

“How have you been?”

Roleplay from Saoirse MacArbin
Saoirse was in her element. Many people, many conversations, plenty to keep her attention!

Godfrey bowed slightly and kissed her signet ring as traditional custom:

"Thank you for hosting us Countess Saoirse and your thoughts. It means alot..." Saoirse's hand caught Godfrey's as he started to pull out of his bow. "Not nearly as much as what Ferdinand did for me. He saved my soul, quite literally."

Her fingers squeezed tightly, and feeling a sudden urge, winks at Godfrey as she releases him.

"Countess, it is good to see you as well. Hopefully this gathering won't be cut quite as short as my first visit. How fare your valiant Sly Blades, are they recovered?"

Saoirse winces in turn at the Vice Marshal's question. "Sadly, not entirely. I lost all my healers, and one of our number is still wounded, awaiting attentions that...I cannot provide. We need more funds."

Saoirse bowed back, smiling hesitantly at the Grand Master. "That was quite a day, yes. Is your friend well? I know she helped you after the miracle that brought you back to us, which is surely a holy duty if ever there was one."

"Lady Saoirse, a pleasure to meet you. Grandmaster, gentlemen, good day to you all. Please, carry on. Do not mind me, I will have my say later on."

Saoirse looked puzzled for a moment before bowing slightly.

"Good to meet you as well, Sir...Is that the Farseer emblem?"

Her eyes widened.

"I had heard some of the legends, but did not realize there were any left in the Sacred Realm!"
Saoirse MacArbin

Roleplay from Ulrich Reisläufer
Ulrich winced in turn at the Countess' words regarding the state of her soldiers, and their need for funding. "That is, unfortunately, a distressingly common theme with all the damage to the realm. We're doing what we can to stop more of it. With any luck, we can" - he cut off briefly to glance at the others assembled nearby - "come to terms to end this war, and free the bulk of the army from eating your region down to bare earth."

The arrival of Sir Jheda Orobar drew the young knight's attention as well, as he noted the Farseer insignia and easy familiarity with the top echelons of Obian society. Mention of the newcomer's name reminded Ulrich of the request he'd received to foray against the undead, and he smiled. "Sir Jheda, an honour to meet you in person. Given the reputation of the Farseers, I'm almost surprised you didn't request a break from garrison duty sooner."

As the others spoke, the razor-thin knight with the seldom-blinking eyes lapsed back into relative silence, not wishing to interrupt anything of import.

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
Jheda answered the embrace, for a moment forgetting about decorum. Yes, this was the Grandmaster, but he was also one of his oldest friends. He would never forget how they met at Marcus' ball. While they were close, he silently whispered: "I'm fine, but we need to talk once this meeting is over."

Taking a step back, keeping his hand on Marcus' shoulder, Jheda faced the others. Both Lady Saoirse and Vice-Marshal Ulrich made remarks about the Farseers. He always enjoyed talking about that part of his past, so he started.

"Oh, there are still a few of us left, spread across Obia'Syela, doing different things. The Grandmaster himself was once a member." He slapped the man on his shoulder while speaking. "And a mighty fine one, if I may say so. But I do have to tell you, my Lady, what you heard are no legends. Everything people talk about, did happen, and more."

"I keep wearing the Insignia, to remind me of my duty. I once protected the Oracle. Now that she is gone, I will protect what she stood for, and what she teached us. In that sense, our work as a Farseer is for life." Jheda said nothing about the doors the Insignia still opened for him.

"Vice-Marshal, an honour to meet you. From what I've seen, you promise to be an excellent leader. Obeah is truly blessed you offer your talents to Her service. And you're right. It is quite hard to keep my men in line while doing the more boring duties that come with the job. But we have discipline. A Farseer might have a healthy thirst for blood, but we know how to follow orders. Know that we can be hard, will show no mercy to the guilty, but we also value life." Jheda looked directly at Sir Godfrey while saying these last words.

Roleplay from Ulrich Reisläufer
Ulrich responded with a nod that was more of a bow from the neck, and a small wry smile. "The honour is mine, Sir. I can only pray the Holy Mother grants me time to serve Her realm half as well as you already have. Alas, I fear the blood presently on offer to quench the thirst of your Rahien Sorei to be of the black and clotted sort. But needs must when the dead try to multiply their own numbers out of our farmers, eh? My Phalanx will have far less to fear with your sharpshooters at their backs." Shifting to address more of the gathered nobility if even somewhat indirectly, Ulrich continued, "I confess, I had no particular agenda for this meeting. In fact, I was merely on my way here for a social call when I had the great honour and fortune of being in the right place at the right time when our Grand Master arrived at the encampment this morning. Should there be aught of import to discuss, then by all means, that should take precedence by right, your Grace, my lord and lady."

Roleplay from Godfrey Greybrook
Godfrey had been quiet for some time, trying to observe the nobles around him. He did not know the noble in the unknown uniform, he could only assume this was Sir Jheda, as he was referred to by his companions.

Godfrey didn't feel the need to reply to alot of what was said, it was the same message that he tried to convince himself of - he was trying to step out of the shadow...

He did begun to wonder why the Countess Saoirse had created such a open invitation to so many nobles like the Grand Master, Vice Marshal Ulrich and Sir Jheda. He had would ask but the young man did not want to interrupt their conversation, perhaps in a moment or the Countess would naturally bring it up as Godfrey stood quietly in the circle they had formed.

Roleplay from Saoirse MacArbin
Saoirse tilted her head in interest at the words from Jheda. She was more than a little impressed, and she had never been good at hiding her emotions, so did not bother to do so.

"Admittedly, Farseer Jheda, that would be an interesting topic in its own right, and I would enjoy hearing more about it later, if you have time after your discussion with the Grandmaster. But for my purposes..."

She shrugged, hands spread wide.

"I had asked the Vice Marshal to join me, and he had mentioned that it would be good to bring Sir Godfrey, and I have always enjoyed a party and suggested he should bring any and all guests he wished. There was no matter of import, just..."

She shifted a little, as the impulse to begin pacing was felt and suppressed.

"Times have been dark. And they will likely be dark again in the future. I wanted to seize the light, what we had of it. It seems to me...Churlish, to let a day go by without enjoying what we can when there are so many who will not be able to do so again."
Saoirse MacArbin

Roleplay from Godfrey Greybrook
A party? In war time? This shocked the quiet Godfrey as he recalled the "parties" of his ancestral home, they were not war time celebrations. The infamous yet unspoken parties known to nobles discuss politics, general chatter and usually a source of scandals. Maybe within the Sacred Realm these events might be different... He hoped. Realising that he was becoming rude in his company, Godfrey softly spoke his thoughts to the group: "Perhaps we could sit down and perhaps discuss these topics in more detail?"

Saoirse slapped her head, knocking her circlet slightly off-kilter before she adjusted it.

"Of course, what was I thinking, yes, please, come sit, we have wine, we have ale, we have...What do we have?"

She looked to Tayla inquisitively as they moved toward the seats. "Cheese, bread, and a selection of local olives, milady."

Saoirse turned, walking backwards for a moment. "Yes, that, enough for getting on with anyway."

Her legs found a rather high divan and sitting somewhat abruptly, she gestured towards the rest of the scattered (and somewhat battered) chairs and the rest of the divan.
