Thrydwulf Becomes a Cavalier

(On the way back to Heen after their campaign in Weghie, Thrydwulf realises that the back of a camel is where he has wanted to be all his life)

Thrydwulf was Marching through the familiar lands of Heen. The sands he'd travelled on so much since he'd arrived here, his camels enjoying the feel of it beneath their feet, instead of the hard mud and grass of Vlaanderen land.

It had been a worth while trip down south. Not only had they aided their allies by being support, they had also won a battle. Although it was small, it was an outstanding victory, and showed the strength of their army. The equipment forged in the desserts and workshops proved much stronger and the armour much more protective than the Plergoth soldiers'.

Thrydwulf was riding along side many of the nobles he had fought alongside in Weghie. As they rode through Kording, and started out for Hcallow a feeling of happiness spread through him. He could not resist a smile. He felt like shouting, but he contained his feelings in a smile. Turning to his right he saw his good friend from Perdan - Jadine - and she got the full force of his smile.

Quickly controlling his emotions he turned back to the road ahead. He knew that this is what he had always wanted to do. Riding to and from war, on the back of a powerful beast, with good friends. It was his dream, and in Heen his dream had become reality. The camel below him could feel the excitement in the rider, and suddenly it took off at a gallop. Thrydwulf was riding hard, smiling again, until he was far enough away from his troop to laugh loud and long. His steed looked at him as if he was mad. Perhaps he was, but atleast he was happy.

Turning around he rode slowly back to the Heenites marching his way. Jadine gave him a funny look as he fell back into line, but he just smiled at her and laughed inside.

Today he knew what he wanted to be, and today he knew he had achieved it on the back of this beast he had never seen before he came to Beluaterra, but now he was glad he had.
