Appearance

You see before you a tall woman of athletic build. You can tell by her demeanor she has led a difficult and dangerous life. She stands upright and proud, with auburn hair, blue eyes, and a soft pointed nose. She is pretty, in a plain way. She ties her hair back in a very practical fashion that gives away her common bloodline.

She is wearing black boots which come up to her knees, dark grey trousers, and a black plain tunic. On her shoulders she wears a black mantle with dark purple trim.

She carries a two handed falchion in a scabbard at her side, and a cruel looking curved dagger.

Early Life

Svetlana was born a servant girl. In her teens she had been purchased by the then Grande Panetier of Luria Nova Raine Gildre. Servitude to Raine had been tedious at best, and demeaning and loathsome at best. Svetlana would often gaze out the castle windows at Poryatown, imagining a life of adventure. Raine would have her complete clerical duties instead, and publicly ridicule her for sub par performance. Svetlana could barely read and write, and could not hope to keep up with the bookish Raine.

Rather than live a life of punishment and humiliation, Svetlana decided to run away. During the night, she fled the castle, and ended up finding refuge at a Royal Rangers guild house.

A Life of Adventure

Svetlana joined the Rangers, and began the life she had dreamed of for so long. She lived on the road, traveling from region to region, dispatching monsters and other dwellers of the night. There was much her dreams had left out: sleeping on flea ridden beds, or on the cold ground in the rain, the absence of baths, earning enough coin to feed yourself lest you starve. She managed, however, through perseverance to succeed in her adventures, destroying much evil in the world.

Eventually Svetlana became a quite efficient killer. Her victories began to overwhelm her defeats until she could hardly remember an opponent besting her. It was then that a nobleman approached her with an offer of knighthood. He had heard of her exploits, and offered to raise her station and pay for her passage to the East Continent to fight in the wars there. Lacking any real challenge in her life, she accepted.

Death

Roleplay from Selenia JeVondair Message sent to all nobles of Redhaven (12 recipients) - 16 minutes ago

It was not hard to find the old shrine. Selenia, holding a torch aloft, walked the weather-worn steps. Behind her, a small entourage of soldiers and nobles followed, bearing the still form of Lady Svetlana Gildre. The armor that had failed her had been removed, replaced by silks and southern blossoms of reds and violets. Her bejewled hands were folded across her chest, gripping the hilt of a naked sword. Behind, porters bore wood and oil for the funeral pyre. It was the first time she'd been back to the lands of the Old Imperium since she'd forced the Xavax to resettle in the north. it should have been a triumphant day. Instead, the former Queen felt all of her years weighing her down.

Flat stones atop a grassy gnoll marked the resting place of Uthred the Undying. It had been an age since Selenia had been here, though it seemed only yesterday. Within, a decade of disuse allowed for weeds and animals to make their homes among the flagstone. Svetlana's body was laid upon the altar stone beneath which rested the remains of the indomitable first Paragon. Selenia turned to face those who had come as the porters built Svetlna's pyre atop the Altar of the Undying

"It was here, in this very province, that I had met my first Gildre, a dashing young lancer named Gilth that had earned the respect of her court. He had died in my service, and I would have to answer to his shade for Svetlana's demise. I remember Svetlana as a bright light among my court, a good-hearted woman and resolved warrior. I will miss her as I missed my own daughter. We gather here today to speak words of remembrance, the better to arm her spirit for the trials of the Maelstrom so that she may burn brightly with her won light against the dark and join the Paragons that went before her.

Selenia raised the torch. "Will any speak before we commend her body to the Path of Ashes?"
