The Grand headball tournament hosted by Grand Justiciar dulthalos is a triumph for The Sport of Headball and for the Giblot Headball League, who have been working vigilantly to make Headball an Offical Sport. However some complications have arisen from this tournament which is still in progress. Namely the style of Headball Dulthalos has played in his tournament. One which the Giblot people had never yet seen until the first day of the tournament...
Why Dulthalos Changed the Rules...
The only source we have on why Dulthalos may have change the rules is from this account, taken from the popular magazine, the "Tell Tale Peasant."
According to the tavernkeeper, dulthalos had been sat inside drinking Giblotian Ale and smoking a susbstantial amount of Ganders Rollsovarian Spices for the greater part of the day. Here is what the tavern keeper had to say: "Well, we 'ad ta kick 'im out when 'ee started bein sick everywhere, at the time 'ee thought 'ee was a lampost or somethin! When we chucked him out ee 'urled some abuse at us, before 'ee ran ta av' a look at the headball game across from't tavern. We went after 'im to try and stop 'im ruinin the game o' course but we were too slow. 'E just ran on there an picked up the head n'e started throwin it at the players. Made me sick I tell ya!" It appears from this quote that in dulthalos state of euphoria caused by Ganders special 'spices' he seems to have come across the idea completely by accident! Though here at Tell Tale Peasant, we feel that it shows just what a resourceful guy our Judge really is...
...and so 'Judges Headball' was born!
Judges Headball Rules
The key difference with Judges Headball is that it is played like Dodgeball rather than Football. The way in which the head is acquired is not changed however. Judges Headball is much more violent than the Standard Form but it is seen as a suitable Headball style to test the abilities of the Troop Leaders of Giblot thus a major reason why dulthalos picked Judges Headball for the Tournament.
The Teams
Several teams were created from the noblility of Giblot to duke it out against each other in the Headball Tournament. The teams were hand picked by dulthalos.
The CriMsoN ReAperS Headbangers Meatcutters The Ka-Tet of 19 The Forgottens Spine Dragers Mathadors
Headball Matches
In the first round of the Tournament the CriMsoN ReAperS easily defeated The Ka-Tet of 19.
The Headbangers were beaten by The Mathadors, this is mainly due to the Mathadors Mathematical superiority and the absecence of a crucial Headbanger team member.
In a surprise upset, the Meatcutters easily defeated the Spinedragers. The result of this game does nothing but further support the theory that you should never play sport against infiltrators - especially not hide and seek!
In the Second Round of the Tournament we saw the Forgottens defeat the CriMsoN ReAperS with a helping hand from our new Judge, Lisa and her fantastic, yet slightly biased refereeing skills.
The Meatcutters were soundly defeated in their Second Round match against the Mathadors! This was largely due to adverse weather conditions, with strong winds and lightning severely affecting the ability of the players. Coincedentally an answer to an infiltrators superiority in sports has been found in the form of lightning! Theres no where to hide then!
This means that the Mathadors will fight against the Forgottens in the Final!

Consequences and Rewards of Winning
Whoever wins the tournament, they will strike a great blow for the Campaign to get Headball recognised as an Official sport! They will also be generously rewarded by dulthalos. There are rumours currently flying around that dulthalos only organised the tournament to make us work, but surely he wouldnt do that to us? Would he?...
The Victors
The eventual winners of this tournament were the Mathadors! Congratulations to them. Each team member will be given 25 Gold if dulthalos doesn't get 'lost' on the way to the bank...
Morton, Captain of the Mathadors Headball Team has already seen his fan club double in size since the surprise victory. The Mathadors now plan to travel around the Realms taverns in celebration of their Victory.
In another startling side affect of the Mathadors Victory, all abacuses in the Capital have now Sold Out! "It's Matha-mania!" as one shopkeeper colourfully put it.
