Giblot (Realm)/The Headless OT

Founded early on in Giblot's history, this tavern remained in relative obscurity until it found itself a new name and a new identity to bring the customers in. Since it's transformation the Headless OT has become a favourite watering hole of the Giblot nobility, as well as becoming quite popular with the Giblot citizenry too. Although prices can be quite extortionate at best, it is deemed generally well worth it for all the chatter that goes on. It should also be noted that, as most of the citizens are lazy with their tongues (and their command of Language is questionable to) the tavern is more commonly referred to as 'The Headless OT' rather than 'The Headless Outer Tilogian.' It just rolls off the tongue better!
Folklore
Before becoming the wonderful tavern it is today, the Headless OT was known as "The Rogues Head Inn" - at the time only a small number of customers ever burst through it's doors. This seemingly insignificant tavern's fortunes changed however when a convict escaped from his prison cell in Giblot City, it is still unknown whether the escapee was an actual Outer Tilogian or merely a common criminal.
To avoid the patrols of the local guards, the criminal dived into the Rogues Head to hide. Realising it wouldn't be long until the guards searched the Inn, the criminal went to the Inn keeper and pleaded with him to help him. The Inn keeper apparently agreed to help, but as soon as the criminal turned his back, the Inn keeper smashed a beer mug over his head. This made him fall to the floor and left him disorientated for a few seconds. Before the criminal could get up again the Inn keeper had already removed a small axe from underneath the bar, walked round to the criminal and used it to sever the criminals head from his body.
Once the criminal was decapitated the tavern keeper and all the visitors to the Inn hauled the body outside and explained what had happened to the local guards, however when they all returned, the head could not be found anywhere, and to this day no one knows what happened to it. Once the Inn keeper had been appropriately rewarded, he decided to rename his tavern 'The Headless OT' in memory of what had happened. there
In the resulting fame from the incident, the taverns popularity soared, along with it's profits and thus it transformed into what we now know and love today.
Events
- The new tavern keeper was recently found dead in a back alley, mere days after he held a bash for the Giblot Nobility - where drinks were free of charge for the nobles! Although this was meant as a gesture of good faith, aloyt of bickering and shouting and attempts at backstabbing went on in the drunken chaos. Local Lawmen believe that the death of the tavern keeper was a revenge attack for the strife. The previous and more popular Tavern Keeper has now been reinstated.
- During Giblot's latest rebellion, Sera Osha declared the Headless OT an independent theocracy and made himself Pontifex of this new 'realm.' The regulars respectfully ignored his ramblings at the time, but the news has since spread and their new status as 'Citizens of the Headless OT' has stuck.
Rumours
- Can they Handle it?
- For the second time in as many days a noble of Giblot confused different nobles with each other. Some believe he is getting forgetful in his old age, however others are quick to point out that whatever happens, he is still just as lethal with his sword as he always was. "I certainly wouldn't risk saying that in front of him" said one noble.
- Acceptance?
- Although several of the regulars dislike Sera's title as 'Pontifex' of the Headless OT, we have been informed that a few of them have actually been constructing a crown for Sera in the bathroom in between drinks. - with real gold too! Perhaps from the money they've saved from the cut price Ale Sera's been offering?
